The best TH-cam channel. Much love from California. Going riding with a group of friends in the morning, and thanks to your videos it’s made my life so much more fulfilling. Please keep doing what you’re doing.
I watched this film after your recommendation in a previous japan video. This film might have changed my life! I bought it and watched twice in the same week, then made my girlfriend watch it. I used to clean toilets at a local high school when I was a cleaner there. I am not traditionally successful in a financial or a career aspect but this film shone a light on the value and success we can see in things that are not in our control. Another lovely video, thank you for sharing! What a gorgeous bicycle!
Today while my wife and I were walking around getting coffees we stopped and talked about these videos. This TH-cam channel is such a calm presence, and much appreciated. Thanks for doing what you do!
Hands down the best bike TH-camr out there. I enjoy your thoughts and reflection during your rides. You come across as very humble and it's almost meditative watching you. All the best in the New Year, ✌️from Michigan.
I love your channel and content, I don't think I've ever found anything quite like this which really makes me feel at peace. Recently got into cycling with a 2nd hand dual suspension mountain bike but am keen to get my hands on a vintage steel frame and make a really cool build. Stuff to look forward to in life. Thanks again!
This is just wonderful! Favourite film and second favourite city combined with the beautiful Probably Riding style. I love your static shots, reminiscent of Yasuniro Ozu. When I come to Tokyo this autumn, I’m Probably Riding the same route when I collect my A Homer Hillsen from Bluelug (retirement present to myself). 12:17 - they actually wear the same overalls! Future hipster fashion item right there! Thanks again and have a grr2025.
Oh, heck yes! Just got back from a morning ride around town and for some coffee on my gravel bike. A Perfect Days toilet tour? Don't mind if I do. What a glorious idea for a video, so glad you made this! Happy new year, everyone 💚✌🏼
Perfect Days is one of my son’s and my favorite films of Wim Wenders. (We also love Paris, Texas.) And we even own it on disc. So it was a treat to see you ride to those toilets. And congrats on the Rune! Can’t wait to see how you build it up. Cheers from America!
Great post, thankyou. I would also describe myself as an introvert and find the bike to be a great ice breaker for having a chat with other people who may or may not be cyclists.
Such a nice Video. It is so much fun to just watch you riding through Tokyo and taking a look at some of those toilets that were featured in the movie. Thank you. Will check out the movie definitely.
This was probably my favorite video yet! Thank you for making it. A bike/Perfect Days film was just what I needed this Saturday morning while I enjoyed my coffee. Hearing that you were being too aggressive riding your bike around Tokyo makes me a little afraid to do it myself though 😅
Really enjoyed this video with the cozy voiceover! I'm a local in Yoyogi Hachiman and ride bike to Shinjuku everyday. I have never felt as comfortable riding on those big streets as you seem to do. I might be kicked out of country by my own people for bad manners sometime soon.
That Rune will be a great bike in the stable. I've got a steel drop bar bike with big tires and it's a ton of fun whether tooling around town or ripping up some dirt. Don't think I'll ever need anything more aggressive than it. Great video!
Hi Marcus. Great video as usual. (Makes my travel bucket list even bigger😩) I bought the Perfect Days dvd when you first mentioned and never got round to viewing it. Now you’ve reignited my urge to watch it. Let’s call it a resolution for January 😊
know this so very well - it is very familiar to me - i live in the suburbs of berlin and there i have a large selection of routes possible to take - completely spontaneously - just like that - wandering around on my bike - sometimes on foot - without any plan - except to find a nice place - to enjoy a good cafe - and smoke a hand-rolled cigarette sometimes I also follow a certain strategy - maybe visit a special bike shop or discover the oldest tree in town - just like that
Someone once explained introvert vs extrovert to me like this. Being an introvert doesnt mean you dont like people or being around them, it just means they drain your social battery, where as extroverts charge their battery around others.
Happy new year everyone! So happy to start my year off with another one of your videos! Keep up the good work this year, I love your channel dude! Love from the US!
The Tokyo toilet tour will be on my bucket list when I visit this summer. Since we will be staying within walking distance of Shimokitazawa, the curry restaurant and cafe will also be on my to-visit places. I find it funny that some have criticized your biking in Tokyo since my experience with Tokyo biking rules is that there are no rules as long as you are aware of pedestrians and other bikers. Cheers.
Just watched the movie the other day because of your recommendation! ❤ Biking, shadows of sunlight, photography! All my favourite ingredients to life yessssss Happy new year! 🎉
Happy New Year! I really enjoyed the movie Perfect Days. My favorite part of the movie was that the main character lived a simple life. He still owned analog cassette tapes, records and a collection of books. Rode his bicycle to his favorite places and also would just ride to have fun. I enjoyed your trip and the movie locations. Wow, the curry looks amazing not to mention all of the great coffee shops. Congratulations on your new bicycle build. I hope you get all the parts that you need from the bicycle community. Take care of yourself and enjoy the ride. ☕️👍🏼
Cool to see the Bike Friday around the world! I grew up in the city they are located in. Love the Tokyo toilet tour. Having seen the movie, loving bikes, and hoping to visit Tokyo some day I think that is on my list of things to do.
Ta very much for this brilliant video! I discovered your channel some months ago and really enjoy the content … keep ‘em coming. Happy New Year from a fellow rider near Montreal. 🚴♂️🇨🇦☕️🇯🇵😄
One reason for tourists at 8:40 is because of the anime movie "5cm per Second" by Makoto Shinkai. I went to spots from that film around Yoyogi because I also knew the places from 'Your Name' would be way more crowded. I also went to spots from Bocchi the Rock in Shimokitazawa. If I had known about Perfect Days, I'd should've added it into my itinerary.
Great idea for a video,I was surprised to see a lack of cycling infrastructure in Tokyo .the back streets of Tokyo look interesting to explore, especially the toilet tour idea from the brilliant perfect day, perhaps a spin off channel awaits "probably defecating " ?
Congrats with the new frame. Great oldschool color. Curious what component colors you are going to match it with. Building it up is the greatest thing. I myself am building a 50s,70s and 80/90s frames as speaking. Running out of space very fast. Thats the biggest problem of building/collecting bikes. Wish i had a bag like “sport Billy” 😆. Greets from the Netherlands.
At first glance your yellow bike looks a bit lie the one Kōji Yakusho’s character in Under the Open sky is gifted. And the thumbnail restrooms feature pretty prominently in Perfect Days, another Kōji Yakusho gem. Happy new year Edit: Ah and of course you talk abotu it too xD
Happy new Year! Pretty excited for the Rune-Build, looks good. Your Videos allways make me check flights to Tokyo and Seoul, very inspiring! And I think we need a clean Bowl Club Group on some Platform ;).
Been watching you from the beginning, always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your travels. Happy Nee Year !! Love the Rune bike you were riding, just checked them out online, do you find the stand over unusually high? Thanks again for sharing , cheers
What bike did you ride when you lived in London? Im so scared of it getting nicked it’s stopping me from purchasing my dream bike (no matter how tatty I make it look 😅) 90s mtb are nice but at 6’4 run a little small and not a fan of 26”. I wish we had this movement in London too!
I had a fairly low key Pelago Bristol. I love that bike for riding in London and it flies under the radar too. I certainly don't miss worrying about my bike being stolen.
Great video, as usual. I really enjoyed this movie as well. Greetings from Brazil. (I wonder which camera you usually have with you... The footage looks so bright and beautiful!)
As always, an excellent video; I especially like how people-sized Tokyo looks in places. I may have to give that film a watch as well; thanks for the recommendation.
Your best yet. This is what the internet is for. We'll rent Perfect Days today. What better way to start the New Year than with Japanese Public Toilets? Have a great 2025!
Wish they had a broader colour range, but otherwise agreed: beautiful lines/geo. I built an almost identical frame two Summers ago but unfortunately I'm having to sue to get my hands back on it. Breaks my heart a little bit that I may never see it again.
The best TH-cam channel. Much love from California. Going riding with a group of friends in the morning, and thanks to your videos it’s made my life so much more fulfilling. Please keep doing what you’re doing.
Thanks for the love, glad you're enjoying the channel!

We are brothers 😊
my favorite youtuber doing a bike tour of my favorite film! what a day!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Today while my wife and I were walking around getting coffees we stopped and talked about these videos. This TH-cam channel is such a calm presence, and much appreciated. Thanks for doing what you do!
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to praise.
Friends are more important than toilets but when you have got to go you've got to go

Thank you! Happy New Year!
Perfect Days was my favorite film of 2024, this channel was my best find of 2024. Keep riding! and filming... probably
Thank you so much!
Life affirming, as always. Your videos are a tonic for the soul 🥰
Thank you so much!
I love your channel and content, I don't think I've ever found anything quite like this which really makes me feel at peace. Recently got into cycling with a 2nd hand dual suspension mountain bike but am keen to get my hands on a vintage steel frame and make a really cool build. Stuff to look forward to in life. Sounds like a great potential project, enjoy the process if you get to do it! Thank you so much for watching.
I wish I could grab a coffee with you man. Your videos are so impactful in my life. Happy new year from Portsmouth New Hampshire. 🎉
Happy new year from Seoul!
Very hyped on your Rune Build! Also thank you for making my list of coffee shops in Tokyo longer and longer, greetings from germany
Endless list of good coffee.
This is just wonderful! Favourite film and second favourite city combined with the beautiful Probably Riding style. I love your static shots, reminiscent of Yasuniro Ozu.

Congrats on the new Homer. Even better to get one from Bluelug.
Just superb and eclectic content! You really sell this as the way to see a city and experience it.
Thanks 🙏
Perfect days was such a good film!! Absolutely adored it, so cool to see you tour the different toilets 😊
I’m going to watch it again tonight.
Oh, heck yes! Just got back from a morning ride around town and for some coffee on my gravel bike. A Perfect Days toilet tour? Don't mind if I do. What a glorious idea for a video, so glad you made this!
Happy new year, everyone 💚✌🏼
Happy New Year!
Thank you sir for this drop - watched the movie last night and it was a beautiful thing. 💖💖🚲🚲
So glad you enjoyed it!

The best ice breaker for me.
I just watched Perfect Days last weekend! This is some great timing!
It's a great film!
That Rune looks like a real pleasure to ride! Beautiful looking weather for a winter day too, wow!
It’s a great bike, in both the sunny winter streets of Tokyo and the wet summer gravel of the UK>
The day I finished watching the movie, this video was uploaded. Lucky coincidence!
Great!
Beautiful bike and beautiful toilet tour 😍
Thanks again for another great video
You're awesome 👌
Mark from Maryland
Glad you enjoyed it. You are awesome too!
Such a nice Video. It is so much fun to just watch you riding through Tokyo and taking a look at some of those toilets that were featured in the movie. Thank you. Will check out the movie definitely.
Thank you very much!
Glorious day indeed! Thanks for documenting.
Thanks!
Thank you for that amazing tour! That curry shop looks amazing, just my vibe.
Thanks!
Can't wait to see where my bike takes me in 2025. ❤
I hope it takes to to happiness.
This was probably my favorite video yet! Thank you for making it. A bike/Perfect Days film was just what I needed this Saturday morning while I enjoyed my coffee.
Hearing that you were being too aggressive riding your bike around Tokyo makes me a little afraid to do it myself though 😅
It was just one person who loves traffic rules.
Introvert? You? The vibe might be but you’re really getting out of that shell. 😇
Thank you for the awesome vibes every time you upload. ❤️
Bikes, not drinking and this channel have certainly helped.
Ride safe! I'd love to live around there one day.
Great start to my year! About to go back to work after a year-end break, and this was a wonderful video to watch with my pre-work-from-home coffee.
Thank you for watching. Happy new year.
That Rune will be a great bike in the stable. I've got a steel drop bar bike with big tires and it's a ton of fun whether tooling around town or ripping up some dirt. Don't think I'll ever need anything more aggressive than it. Great video!

Hi Marcus. Great video as usual. (Makes my travel bucket list even bigger😩)
I bought the Perfect Days dvd when you first mentioned and never got round to viewing it.
Now you’ve reignited my urge to watch it.
Let’s call it a resolution for January 😊
Hope you like it!
know this so very well - it is very familiar to me - i live in the suburbs of berlin and there i have a large selection of routes possible to take - completely spontaneously - just like that - wandering around on my bike - sometimes on foot - without any plan - except to find a nice place - to enjoy a good cafe - and smoke a hand-rolled cigarette
sometimes I also follow a certain strategy - maybe visit a special bike shop or discover the oldest tree in town - just like that
Sounds perfect. Would love to radio around Berlin on day.
Someone once explained introvert vs extrovert to me like this. Being an introvert doesnt mean you dont like people or being around them, it just means they drain your social battery, where as extroverts charge their battery around others.
I think you just explained it.
If caught filming, simply say you're making documentary about Tokyo toilets.
😎
Happy new year everyone! So happy to start my year off with another one of your videos! Keep up the good work this year, I love your channel dude! Love from the US!
Happy New Year!

I think you nailed it about the Tokyo bike rules. Enjoy your trip and the curry!
You're killing it, Marcus. Consider coming out to greater western Tokyo next time you're in Japan. I'll show you a river ride or two. 👍🤘
Thanks. Would love to!
@@probablyriding I'll drop you a line in the next week or so. Enjoy your New Year's holidays!
really chill, great work!
Glad you like it!
Can’t wait to see your Rune build, that’s awesome you’re getting one, they are pretty sweet…

Love the Tokyo toilet tour. Having seen the movie, loving bikes, and hoping to visit Tokyo some day I think that is on my list of things to do.
Thanks for watching. Bike Friday seems to have exploded in popularity in Japan. They make sense in Tokyo.
Building my Rufus at the moment fantastic bike !! Great video as usual
Awesome! What color and what kind of build are you going for?
Happy New Year.
Thanks for the tour!
Can't wait to see your Rune build!
Happy New Year! The Rune is coming soon!
Loved the film, and great idea for a bike tour! I hope to do the same one day. Cheers from Winnipeg!
Cheers!
Your videos make my days perfect! Happy New Year! I absolutely loved the movie!
Happy New Year!
Great video, much appreciation from Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.
Thanks!
Thanks as always. I love this Rune bike, I think it's very similar to the velo orange polyvalent too. Surely one of these two will be my next bike.
For those of us who love lugs, it can only be the Rufus, despite the extra cost.
Yes, I had the quill stem, 650b, disc brake Polyvalent. Similar vibe but the Poly was low trail geo.
The lugs are the icing on the cake.
Ta very much for this brilliant video! I discovered your channel some months ago and really enjoy the content … keep ‘em coming. Happy New Year from a fellow rider near Montreal. 🚴♂️🇨🇦☕️🇯🇵😄
Happy new year!
That is a gorgeous bike!
Sure is
Happy New Year 🎉❤ after i Look Perfect Days 😅 i Like how you Ride your Bike in Japan... Let them😂

For me this is the best possible way to start the new year
Thank you!
I can't say I would expect to hear Hootie and the Blowfish at a Tokyo cafe.
Anything can happen in Tokyo!
Great idea for a video,I was surprised to see a lack of cycling infrastructure in Tokyo .the back streets of Tokyo look interesting to explore, especially the toilet tour idea from the brilliant perfect day, perhaps a spin off channel awaits "probably defecating " ?

What a video to start this year. 1st subscribe of this year is yours. keep ride keep inspire. Love from india!

Happy new year from a French fan 🎉
Bonne année!
Looks like a pretty perfect day!
It was!
Cool video, what an excellent and relaxing film. I'll have to check out the Wim Wenders film. Happy New Year!
Happy New year!
Perfect Days is great! Happy New Year!
Cheers!
It was great to catch up with you on that day! Looking forward to go for a ride with you again
Great to see you again. Thank you for taking the time to meet!
happy new bike frame day!
Thanks!
Tour de France: ❌ (well, maybe)
Tour of Toilets: ✅
Great to see that whole youth baseball team squadding up on bikes.
So cool, right? Love to see kids safely riding bikes around the city.
Tour Des Toilettes
You got a very good taste, sir! Approved movies, coffee and bikes :)
Thanks!
At first glance your yellow bike looks a bit lie the one Kōji Yakusho’s character in Under the Open sky is gifted. And the thumbnail restrooms feature pretty prominently in Perfect Days, another Kōji Yakusho gem. Happy new year

Need to watch Under the Open SKy.
Probably Riding + Tokyo = best thing on the internet
Thanks!
Happy new Year! Pretty excited for the Rune-Build, looks good. Your Videos allways make me check flights to Tokyo and Seoul, very inspiring! And I think we need a clean Bowl Club Group on some Platform ;).
Let me know if you ever visit.
Been watching you from the beginning, always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your travels. Happy Nee Year !! Love the Rune bike you were riding, just checked them out online, do you find the stand over unusually high? Thanks again for sharing , cheers
Thanks! Standover on the medium was fine. I could probably ride a large too but I've gone for the medium. 650b wheels help.
Thank you for adding "perambulate" to my vocabulary
It's a great word, isn't it?
Maybe i walk around like a newborn giraffe💀💀 love it
🦒
Since watching your video's I have started drinking gallons of coffee! You are having a bad influence on me 🤣
Oops!
What bike did you ride when you lived in London? Im so scared of it getting nicked it’s stopping me from purchasing my dream bike (no matter how tatty I make it look 😅) 90s mtb are nice but at 6’4 run a little small and not a fan of 26”. I wish we had this movement in London too!

bikes have been providing free transport and personal liberation for almost 150 years by now

Great video, cozzy, nice climate, great stuff to begin year. Greetings from Szczecin, Poland and all best for 2025! :)
Happy New Year!
Wow! So cool. I literally JUST posted an edit of this film an hour ago lol. Such a marvelous use of real world locations
Great film!
Love it!
Thank you!
Hi, love the videos. For some alternative drop bars shifters I an recommend the gevenalle shifters.
Thanks for the rec.
Great video, as usual. I really enjoyed this movie as well. Greetings from Brazil.
(I wonder which camera you usually have with you... The footage looks so bright and beautiful!)
Obrigado! I use an iPhone and this: www.insta360.com/sal/go-3?INRL3L3
@probablyriding Nice!!! Keep up the good work.
perfect days tour? greaat
Thanks
As always, an excellent video; I especially like how people-sized Tokyo looks in places. I may have to give that film a watch as well; thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks!
The pervert line cracked me up. The untold dangers of being a TH-camr lol.
🚽
Happy new year Marcus :)
Happy New Year!
You're right it was the film of the year.
Indeed
Your best yet. This is what the internet is for. We'll rent Perfect Days today. What better way to start the New Year than with Japanese Public Toilets? Have a great 2025!
Enjoy! Happy New Year!
😮 you got the BL jam bars, they are sold out online. Can’t wait for the video. You are addicted to handlebars.
I’m a barstard.
It's not an addiction. Handlebars are just an extremely important part of life on a bicycle!
Love it. Which handlebars do you have on the Rune?
Thanks! Rune Hilt bars.
Now I want a Rune! 🚲
Such a sweet bike.
Wish they had a broader colour range, but otherwise agreed: beautiful lines/geo. I built an almost identical frame two Summers ago but unfortunately I'm having to sue to get my hands back on it. Breaks my heart a little bit that I may never see it again.
@ They’re a small company but hopefully success will bring more frames and colours.
eating and rest abit in that shrine are spot on
is that jam handlebar?
Yes! I saw an Atlantis with these bars in Tokyo and had to get them for myself.
Probably New Year 🎉
Happy New Year!
How do you travel with the handlebars you purchased. Do you check them in or can you carry on? I want to buy some bars on my trip to Japan next week.
These just about squeezed into my suitcase.
reminiscing, of perfect days film
I'm going to watch it again tonight.
