Her combination of skill, determination, focus and personality is what we need more of in tennis. Hope she has another great run in the 2022 US Open. A very compelling athlete to cheer for!
I think her not winning the open is going to be better for her longer term. It will make her more hungry and determined .She will also have less pressure on herself as compared to Emma.
I would rather be Raducanu than Fernandez. Raducanu will always be a grand slam champion, Fernandez still has to answer that. Losing in Grand Slam finals can also put lots of pressure on players (ie Zverev, Tsitsipas haven't won a big one yet).
I think winning a grand slam will give her more confidence. You can stay hungry, but until you win a major title, you won't have that edge to be a world champion!
We're all proud of you Leylah ! Keep working hard to polish your game and no doubt you'll make the Top 10 Women's Tennis in the world. Wish you all the best and continued success. Muy Bien and Mabuhay !!!
Definitely she has the power to do it, coz she is a great fighter in tennis according to our understanding about Tennis. So God bless her in her future endeavors. Finally take care and be safe.
There are so many great young players out there now, it's such a great time for women's tennis. Wanting it and having a backstory in not enough when people learn your game. And by the way we never get to hear the teachers words or the context, but let's not spoil the story. I look forward to watching Leylah to see how she gets on. So many commercial brands have taken a chance so it will be interesting to see how long they stay the course. Her fist pumping, bouncy, bounciness is fun to watch. Let's hope she manages to stay in there.
Leylad Fernandez played top notch tennis but I believe she is still undergun in her serve and ground strokes. I also think she needs new coaching to provide varieties and approach to her game. The top ten spots has a lot of competitions so she has to play her best to stay competitive.
Thank you King Richard Williams for inspiring "Tennis Dad's" Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauf parents all mentioned he gave them the inspiration. Glad to learn that his visions caught fire in the hearts of many parents who were told " your child is too "whatever" and they ignored it a pressed on through the negativity isn't that the story of the Williams family....
She needs to get a real coach. Her Father needs to back off ,,he’s too soft on her. You don’t rest when you in training and play. Just me ,,she also knows Talaog too
@@Pj-in4xz as if I care....the other one of the US Open, the winner never go beyond the 1st/2nd or sometime 3rd round and I thought Fernandez never comes in picture...I thought the two finalist are just a fluke

I love Leylah. Tenacious, determined, and genuine. A breath of fresh air on the WTA. So much fun to watch. And well-spoken.
and small
Too short to be a champion
Que Bueno , Tiene raiz de Ecuador. Love Ecuador ❣️.
Leylah Fernandez is my girl.💝👍👍
To beat 3 top players is amazing . She got the weapon to get there. Just in a matter for time, maturity , experience , determination & hard work.
Yes, She’ll become WTA top 10 players in the future! Proud mix Ecuadorian, Filipina, Canadian! Godbless Leylah!
One of my favorite tennis players alone with Coco. These two young individuals are so intelligent and a pleasure to listen to at press conferences.
Go Leylah Fernandez!
Te amo leylah beatiful forever

Layla is cute as a bugs ear. She also seems to have a sweet personality and nature about her.
Being Canadian, and following Leylah, none of that was surprising.

Everybody has a "your child is too 'whatever'" story it seems like. I don't believe any of it.
Keep fighting.
She got fans in Costa Rica 🖖🏽🖖🏽🖖🏽🖖🏽
Common Laylah, learn a fourth language - Tagalog, your Mom’s language. You have Filipino faithfuls rooting for you.
Leyla es un fenómeno llegará muy lejos paciencia

I like her, and she's a good tennis player, but I'm afraid she might be a one-hit-wonder. Time will tell.
where the F*** is she now??? We have seen Raducanu bowing out in the 1st/2nd round of every Open she plays
You realize this post is about Fernandez ?
@@Pj-in4xz yesss i fu***ng realize it...where the f**k is she, not seen her for quite a while...maybe you tell
She injured her foot at French open. Out for 2 months. She went 3rd or 4th round. Came back for Canadian Open.

Btw, Leyla won a WTA title in Mexico against a Colombian up and coming young woman also....
NO CHANCE FOR HER TO BE A GRAND SLAM CHAMPION SHE IS TOO SHORT THERE'S A LOT OF GOOD PLAYERS IN HER CLASS.
I agree........
