Representative government isn't the same thing as your government representing your specific policy preferences, in fact it is designed to ensure that doesn't happen. The idea is that democracy leads to rule by mob. So you elect representatives, who use their wisdom to come up with a better answer than mob rule. Unfortunately for the Lady opposed to militias, the term "militia" is not in reference to the National Guard troops of the states or to the federally funded armed forces, The Constitution makes a clear distinction between the two. The textbook definition of a "militia" is a group of citizens within the communities, that in times of unrest, violent civil disobedience, or foreign aggression or invasion, will take up arms in defense of their homes and their community. If she wants to be upset at anyone, her anger and distrust should be against the "professional politicians" that #1, have sown division and discord between the citizens of this country, #2, have enacted laws (including restrictive gun laws), placing more stringent restrictions on the law abiding public, while giving a pass to the criminal element and their own selves. And #3, have historically ignored the good of this country and it's citizens while giving comfort and aid to the very people bent on knocking America from it's place of prominence on the global stage. As to the young man from Georgetown, he needs to keep in mind that there are some "Laypeople" in this country who have enough of a grasp of the tenants and application of the law, that his Indoctrinal explanation of interpretation of the Constitution won't make muster. For those in the public who fear these groups who congregate for the purposes of being prepared, the credit/blame for those people's rationalizing the need lies squarely at the feet of the bureaucracy and politicians who want to rule the world, rather than exercise service and stewardship of the founding principles of America.

I didn't vote for my current city council, state governor, nor Brandon. In Maryland all my candidates lost, does that mean non of them represent me and I don't need to follow their rules neither?
I'm not sure about that. But when an unelected system gets out of hand, they get a bit reluctant to give it up. Athens, Tennessee, 1946, volunteer state veterans had just returned from fighting the gestapo and the third reich. After they were bused in, they found a government run from Memphis dem's, using election rigging, ballot obstruction, voter intimidation, fraud, even shooting people that interfered with their interests, like lingering too long trying to cast a ballot for 'the wrong candidate', let alone the ballot counters overseeing a proper count (when they were paper). Law enforcement were doing this for the local governments, and after being shot at a few too many times, and a few vet's dying, the real men had enough. The veterans battled to liberate again, the home they just returned to, at the county offices and depots, the shootouts were broadcast nationwide. When the dust settled and the sun rose, the criminal gangsters were imprisoned and the people felt safer and more inspired knowing that corruption did not need to be tolerated for fear. Never forget
Representative government isn't the same thing as your government representing your specific policy preferences, in fact it is designed to ensure that doesn't happen. The idea is that democracy leads to rule by mob. So you elect representatives, who use their wisdom to come up with a better answer than mob rule. Imagine that you lived in a community that voted 99% to have no government programs. A representative might worry about who will create sewage infrastructure. He might wait a while to see if something private and great popped up, but if not he might support other legislators in creating a sewage tax, particularly if having talked to all 99 voters in his town of 100, they all said they wanted a sewage system, and hadn't though it through when they voted.

That guy with his licensing position doesn't get the idea that militias are the people, you don't need a license to organize or protect yourselves when the government can't.
Many militia members are not stable and have Rambo delusions. Many we're rejected by the military.

In researching this story, how did you not reach out to the largest and most recognized militia in the state? Campbell County Militia is over 4 years old, officially recognized by the county board and sherrif and has been active in the community doing tornado response, missing persons searches, training citizens in advanced trauma medicine, blood drives, and many other aspects of building a safe and prepared population. One good example is our members have been first on scene at half a dozen severe traffic accidents and put their professional training and supplies to immediate use. Our meetings and training are public and listed on our website.
They actually reported the in error. I an organizing a chapter of the Campbell county militia in Augusta County Virginia
@paulvoska8425 Outstanding. It will definitely be the Augusta militia, we just help get the boring stuff organized. Admin paperwork and organizing sucks! Lol
Militias should be 10x bigger than any army
Gallagher is a bootlicker, she didn't vote for her local law enforcement either. 😂
Gallaher, not Gallagher.
@@davidhorsley1149 very well said
Succinct and on point.
Thank you, exactly on point. I had to laugh on word play . Paramilitary and militia. Two very different things.
As most of my family lives in klickitat county and I grew up there, I can say that sheriff Songer definitely needs his “posse” of militia. That place is crazy
Carolyn Gallagher needs to grow a pair. Militias are Constitutional, protected by the Constitution. She nor Government of any kind (State, Local, Federal), can restrict, ban, bar, etc. any Militia from "being in her county" or patrolling the Streets.
Where does it say in the Constitution that militias are protected? There's the "well regulated militia" mentioned in the 2A, but the kind of militias you're talking about are anything but regulated. The regulated militia today is the National Guard. You guys are just one step above LARPers. And you'll be breaking the law if you attempt to take it into your own hands,
@@Philmoscowitz - The National Guard, is a Standing Army (Federal/ State Government). It is not a citizen militia under the auspices of the Second Amendment. The thing that people always seem to forget, is that the Constitution confers both Individual Rights, and Collective Rights of the people. That has nothing whatsoever to do with a Standing National/ State Army, Government, Police force, etc. And what right does anyone have to dictate Rights, or judge what other people do, -whether or not their Militia is well regulated or not? There's enumerable/ always changing degrees of regulation.
@@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO You didn't answer my question. I guess that means you don't know the answer. And it sounds like you don't understand the Second Amendment. There's nothing there that empowers groups of citizens to take the law into their own hands. Again, the militia that is referred to in the 2A is not you guys. That was added to the Constitution at a time when the US was militarily very weak. Today we have the most advanced military in the world and numerous domestic law enforcement agencies to take down tyrants. We don't need ignorant, conspiracy theorist, Meal Team 6 jackasses shooting up the country.
@@Philmoscowitzmilitias and the 2nd amandement the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
