@yodasling If this film is that good, I hope you bought a copy instead of attempting to watch it on TH-cam. The film was originally rated X, and probably edited for posting. I think the film is interesting as a period piece, but has many flaws including the casting of two unknowns in the lead roles.
cont... Also, the squares who wrote reviews for movies when it came out were eager to bury the counter-culture and the hip writers were afraid to get behind it because of the Manson hysteria. February 1970- the release date for the film, Charlie and the girls were about to go on trial. They were the news. And nobody loved a story about revolutionaries whose road leads them to the desert. Great film, though.
This movie is rated by many critics in their all time 10 worst film list. Don't think you are missing out on that much. If you really want to see it, you may have to buy the DVD.
Pity part 5s blocked...still enjoying this unusual take on the 60s however. To look back on one summer as definitive of the time is obviously a fallacy....
Ziabriskie WITH SOUND -run this search and it should come up-just copy and paste the statement below into your TH-cam search box: sample 7/12 Zabriskie Point | Michelangelo Antonioni (1970) PART
dig it, man. I concur. Its first release in February 1970 came a year or two late. It went overtime in production. By 1970, the tenor of the cultural choir had changed significantly enough to deem the film out of tune and it bombed. its intended audience had shifted so drastically in the crucial year and a half window there in '68 and '69. Easy Rider wouldn't have done so well if it had been released in say 1971 instead of 1969.
Robert Crawford you dont have much taste in film making .antonioni is a master. have some respect.this is one of the great films of all time and one the best soundtracks ever made.what would make you say such a thing?.if you cant say anything intelligent don't comment.
We just have different taste. Frankly, I was expecting to feel like you and didn't. But I find it laughable that you can't tolerate a differing opinion.
this is great.one of my all time favourite movies and the best films ever made.antonioni is a master film maker.its hard to capture magic in a bottle.
so the sound disappears half way through part 6 and no part 7 posted. bit of a let down mate.
I like the music - what band or singer is that?
The airplane is a 1967 Cessna T210G Turbo Centurion.
Daria Halprin and Mark Frechette in Zabriskie Point, 1970
Donde la puedo ver entera en castellano
Sorry. Had to use audioswap feature on it or youtube would have disabled em. The last part has the original audio
I think part 8 does pick up right after part6. Too bad the sound is missing.
The Grateful Dead's Dark star plays in the original during this scene
