Joe Flaherty does a great Bing Crosby impression.
And Dave Thomas does a good Bob Hope.
Ba, Ba, Ba, Bing, please excuse me while I go upstairs and whallop my kids with a b'b'b, belt.
Especially during Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young😂
RIP Joe Flaherty ❤
I thought it really was Bing Crosby when I first started watching it. The SCTV cast really were the funniest comedians I have ever seen. John Candy has a hilarious video of a Food Repair Shop that was either SCTV or Saturday Night Live. Paul Simon was also very funny in the skit.
God I miss SCTV!!! Those were AWESOME times while growing up in the 70's & early 80's!!!
SCTV is a great "go to" for guaranteed laughter which is a very helpful thing these days. The actors are all unbelievably funny and talented even all these years later.
RIP Joe Flaherty! What a great Bing Crosby he did, along with everything else.
Multi-layered writing, great ensemble and impressions, and skits with definite endings. Loved it then, and still funny now. Thanks.
It was ensemble yes BUT I think Harold Ramis had a lot to do with it.
@@anthonyarguien7785With or without Harold, it was a fantastic show
This is so funny, I grew up watching this and miss it immensely!!
40 years later and we still laugh (and cry at the loss of Mr. Candy).
What's being made today that we will still laugh at 40 years from now?
Exactly.
They're not making anything I can laugh at 40 minutes from now, let alone 40 years!
There is no more comedy. It has been castrated by the PC culture. These SCTV videos are precious. Someday they will most likely be cancelled as well.

and now the loss of Count Floyd - Joe Flaherty

John Candy as patoo was hysterical. Thanks for putting this up!
This show is soooo missed
1:26 John Candy as Patoo was one of the funniest things I ever saw on SCTV…..
I remember watching this when it first aired...the BEST episode of SCTV EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't understand it as a kid I just laughed at all the imitations. I still think it was the best show Canada's ever made. RIP Joe Flaherty. Loved your comedy!
"It's too early in the show for pathos"
This still makes me laugh every time I watch it. SCTV is the funniest sketch comedy show ever made. How they layer Bob and Bing On the Road to Morocco over Casablanca is brilliant, like everything they do.
12:49 I remember seeing this for the first time as a kid and I couldn't stop laughing! Every time I see it it's just as good!
PHANTOMZ0NE Same here!
Knock it off Sam!!! Haha
@@AT-sd9qq "Seven hundred and fifty thou ... to have Franco come down on us!"
The Fantasy Island mashup with Wizard of Oz is genius.
And Casablanca it's beyond genius
Absolute genius. Mashing up several things. SCTV should be awarded the highest honor in entertainment. The best satire ever created.
Pattoo: I hope there's chicks on that plane boss, I love chicks!
Mr Roarke: Cool it you hopped up little twit! This island is for THEIR fantasies, not yours!
Dave and Joe did a hilarious Hope and Crosby!😂 Made the whole bit for me.
This episode is among the best they ever did. They manage to include to the entire ensemble in every sequence. So great. Original broadcast end credits too.
I'd like to hear a little bit more about the Cordova. It seems like a car that must have rich Corinthian leather.
I'm here because this is new to me. For fucks sake. I grew up with this shit.
They do Bob Hope and Bing Crosby so good man I'm cracking up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the best episodes!
This is still hilarious, I remeber watching them late at night years ago
R.I.P Joe Flaherty John Candy
A blast from the past
"You ... high-flyink HOSEBAG." I am soooo gonna use that
That became our catchphrase with my friends for years after we saw it on the show!
@@Eddiedahomeless It should be in the modern parlance because I know a few.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver Luckily the supply never runs out ;)
" You want to tie women up with Corinthian leather "
The best part was when they made a doll of patoo
Comic genius. It's really no surprise when you see this material how these comedians went on to such international prestige in the US and beyond. I've been watching SCTV since I was a 10 year old living in Ottawa. Canadians excel at comedy.
It took another 30 years for CGI to look this good.
Thank you SCTV for still making me laugh so hard...
Johnny Nucleo gives this five thumbs up!
Jesss, Patuu
This stuff is Brilliant...Cheers and All the Best from WellyWood New Zealand...
Andrea Martin is so great!!
The best ever!!
She is indeed. Could do some really zany characters. I think she and Catherine did not get as much credit as the men
What is the episode with her doing that feminine product commercial where she pulls the face and her lip quivers? I remember that had me rollin the first time I saw it. Can't find it in the search engine. Now I'm binging all of these to find it.
@@kylewoolsey6635 As Brenda Vaccarro. I saw this when I was a kid. It made me worry that my period was going to be horrible. It’s not. But that was still a funny skit.
I remember coming home from school and this show was on everyday!!! I definitely miss SCTY. Comedy like no other!!!
Truly a classic.❤❤❤
"Well, so much for their "FANTASIES" ".
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Levy's eyebrows were insured for $3.5M during his SCTV tenure.
...each.
I miss those times
I love "The Road to Dien Ben Phu."
Eugene levy does Ricardo Montalban better than Ricardo montalban
Jesss
Jou are rite@@QuadMochaMatti
CORRR-doh-bah
When he mentioned the Chrysler Cordoba ,lol😅
He must have gone to the Ricardo Montalban School of Fiiiine Acting. th-cam.com/video/DVVWF2DAeeU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SCTV
By far, the funniest part of the Fantasy Island sketch was Eugene Levy and John Candy.
☮
Their so good it makes you wanna jump in and join them.
I remember watching this in the 80s, hard to explain how cutting edge it was back then. References to Hope and Crosby movies let alone Fantasy Island weren't obscure...
Wizard of Oz ending was the cherry on top!
Still LMAO over this !!!
"Nice language! Even for a witch"
they were so great at celebrity impressions. nice tribute to hope and crosby. sctv was THE best.
this is one of their best :)
She's a spy & doing a very good job of it. I know, I know, very good, yes. I love the extra's Greek chorus.
Although SCTV reruns aired on the local PBS affiliate in Philly late night during the 1980's, I was always in bed. Then in March 1989, we received cable. The channel I gravitated to immediately was Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite. SCTV aired every night at 10:30 PM, after The Best of Saturday Night Live. This was the first episode I saw and was immediately hooked. I've been a fan ever since. Thank you for uploading these episodes.
“Get a hold of yourself boss, calm down boss”
Still funnier than anything on today's TV.
One word excellent 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So funny... and the episode is like a concept album, different from their 'regular' format
I just realized the song the rock band played at the end was the theme from I Love Lucy
Pattoo
Eugene levy could do anything
batoo was in love with that violin
When the first plane crashed, roark should have said that was HIS fantasy lol
12:36 Questions.. questions!! 😂
15:30 Bob Hope with ears 😂🤣😂
I wish I lived in Canada.
Who wants to do a show like this? Why do we have to live in the past? Lets create a show like this. I'm in, will be fun!
The voice for the sauna commercial sounds like it’s supposed to be Mason Adams. He was the voice in a lot of commercials in the 70s and 80s
Yep. "With a name like Smuckers ... It has to be good!"
10:17 This had me howling.
Catherine O'Hara is great
Damn. They had great weed in the 70s !
Cordoba!
I know what I am
and I am what I know
and I know the man
who knows what I am
Good entertainment programming
John Candy does a pretty
good Humphrey Bogart.
Questions! Questions!
LOL
John Candy as Tattoo! LMFAO!
no crane shot? LaRue didn't go over budget on this one
Boss, Boss, settle down Boss, ...Calm down Boss. Boss. ...Boss.. !! (8:00)

"You coulda DIED, maaan!"
"A _midget,_ me? hunhhununh"
8:20 field goal 😂🤣
This was my brothers generations version of Kids In The Bowl. Both such brilliant shows.
"Kids in the *BOWL"* ??? 🤔😆
Kids in the Hall and it was not funny at all.

19:08 glenda 😂
Sauna air conditioning rofl
As a proud descendant of the peoples who gave the world that particular word for a dry steam bath, the sketch was certainly funny, but also a bit sad at the same time.
#suomifinlandperkele🇫🇮💪⚡😮 #saunaculture😰
20:46 snapping out of it 😂
Pattoo became bogie!
I think Joe Flaherty would've been a better choice for Bogart. Thinner and has the eyes more
Ya ya Disco Lucy
❤
4th and long yardage....hahahaha...spit up my pint!...hahaha
High flying hose bag
You coulda died man. Funny stuff.
0:42 Patoo & his boss greet the guests.
I can't stop laughing at 12:50.
Half the references were quite old at the time, dating back 40 years or more. Now it's more than 80.
Not really. During the Era these old movies played daily and nightly on local stations. Everybody knew the actors, comedians, and dancers.
So dam funny
Who directed this episode?
What was the name of the opening announcer? He was the main staff announcer for ITV, too.
Fantasies suck! LOL!
John candy is great as Bogard!!!!
Dirk Bogarde?
@@QuadMochaMatti Try one of my Turkish beauties ...
SCTV was SOOOOOO much better than Saturday Night Live! Never watched SNL, but always watched SCTV!!!
Such a dumb comment. It wasn’t. And, they aren’t the same type of shows.
If you never watched snl how do you know SCTV was better. Haha
11:16 play it again mac 🎹
