If ai could do anything to improve flightsim auto foliage likes to put that one big tree on end of runway sometimes it is realistic other times it feel like ai is trying to kills us bush pilots. Nothing like doing a ILS into small airport to trees to find it eaten by trees at the last minute you have to get very creative to get plane on ground safely.

AN2 is pretty hard to land in real life, because of his two wings. Basically it could fly without engine for a bit. Interesting how it will feel in MS flying simulator
Oh wow the footage of San Pedro de Atacama! I've been there and I will never forget that climb up that massive pyroclastic deposit toward the volcanoes and Bolivian border. Going from 8,000 feet to 16,000 at the pass in an hour was crazy.
Hey Hobitton is a permanent feature of the New Zealand Countryside so of course it would be weird to leave it out! Matta Matta has an airstrip too, I hope it will see some love too.

@@jonneexplorer So do I. I've never been to NZ but from everything I've seen the places outside the 'touristy' places are the most beautiful. I simply have a big soft spot for Hobbiton having grown up with the books and then films.

The option to disable turbulence is pretty inadequate for a sim. Ignoring that, I'm pretty excited about most of the other stuff coming up. I am also glad to see MSFS content from creators I subbed for back in my ED and Star Citizen days.
i just got this like a week ago and tell u what its a very good game, a beast. only bad thing is on xbox series x atm i am at like 250+ gb install size that and warzone and i cant have any other games installed so flight sim very big in file size
NZ is one of my favourite place to fly VFR: plenty of mountains, lakes, sea, volcano, there is a greath variety. For what I see most airports are ex freeware from NZA and the talentedSergio del Rosso (now working for NZA). The real new ones are few, Whangarei and Rotorua in the north island. For the others there were good freeware ... a little more fantasy wolud have been welcomed. With the payware big airports, Aukland, Wellington, Queenstown and the incoming Christchurch from NZA there is plenty of good places where we can fly. Hope to see more freeware airports because NZ is really stunning and on line there is plenty of airports info. With the incoming Maule, Rans RV6 a really nice place to fly. Just one question ... the texture will be improved? The ORBX mesh will be useful or we can uninstall them?
if the engine limit is 4 now, how is it that the 6 (edit:8) engine Spuce Goose is running? and DISABLE TURBULENCE? What kind of MSFS pilot wants that? I guess I started with MSFS on 5.1 in about '96, so it's nothing but amazing to me.
Thank you for the update!. As of two days ago, my game will not launch into the home screen (crashes/quits just prior to that, after initial load). I deleted my rolling cash file, updated RTX 3070ti (nvidia) drivers, and this has never happened before, what else could it be? Happened after updating windows and the sim, I believe... also after I removed two of my three monitors and switched back to single 2K monitor (the three monitors was 1080). Any ideas anyone?
Perth's photogrammetry is also abysmal. Sad since I live in Perth AU. All the tall buildings (except the 3 handcrafted ones) look very post-apocalyptic.
Really? I was just in Perth yesterday but I guess I was too high to notice how bad it was because I thought it was pretty good. But at 30000' I guess everything looks OK.
@@Foxtrot_EW At 30,000 feet you won't notice that most of the tall buildings look bombed out. But when you're weaving between them at 175 kts in an Extra 330 believe me, you notice. ;)
Two and a half years and the ATC still sucks. The voices for AI aircraft and ATC got mixed together a few updates ago so it always sounds like ATC is talking to itself. The only reason I can think of that they haven't fixed that is that they're working on a big ATC overhaul which fixes it anyway......however, we're talking about Asobo so there's no guarantee on anything cos they're about as transparent as London fog. Edit: And I'll remind everyone, yet again, that in Q&A #1, two and a half years ago, Jorg's response to the question "What are your plans to improve ATC?" was: _"Microsoft China is doing something really cool"_
Yeah we can pick it apart all day long, but the fact of the matter is at the end of the day we've got one beast of a simulator, so of course it's gonna have issues. Focus on all the good! The 90%. Not the negative...the measly 10%.

It might look a hell of a lot worse but everything works, the ATC actually accounts for my plane amongst the AI traffic rather than having us on two separate systems, the SDK is open enough to allow apps like FSpassengers to create real feeling random failures and.....finally....with the lighting redux addon that comes packaged with FSX:SE, the night lighting is noticeably superior than Asobo's effort. Plus, of course, it'd cost 4 figures to get all the FSX aircraft I've picked up over the years in the MSFS marketplace. Oh and the radar works on the F-18. If you really like flying around at low level marvelling at the terrain, MSFS all the way.....but in every other respect, FSX is superior still. And that's just sad. I'm not of the opinion that terrain and clouds are 90% of the sim.

I am way more interested in the An-2 Colt than the An-225. While I acknowledge that it is/was good at what it does and that it is big as hell, I am not that interested in the plane itself. Just makes me go, "Meh."
An-225 is a great aircraft. I was very young when he flew to my town. We went to the airport to look at this miracle of soviet engineering! But I will not buy it in the simulator if they are going to transfer money to the Kyiv punishers!
Still getting the stuttering for two years straight now. Starts off smooth. In 20 minutes it's a slide show. Every time. And I hate the word 'bespoke' and I don't know why. Dont even know what it means.
Lol...thats hilarious! First of all... You've never had a bespoke suit? That means it's custom made for you. I don't mean something off the rack and I don't mean something that you had tailored. It means something that was built for your body from scratch from a Habadashery. That is bespoke and there is nothing better when it comes to a bespoke suit! It means custom built. And the second part about getting stutters... How often do you do a hard drive wipe and clean your hard drive by removing everything? I do it about 4 times a year and plan on a good day even with fast Internet if you have 500 DLC's like I have. But you will be surprised how much corruption you will remove and how good it will be when you're done! How often do you rebuild your cache? I rebuild mine about every 3 days and if you have a CTD, do it immediately after. It only takes a couple seconds to rebuild your cache so you need to do that quite frequently. Maintenance... Everything in this world requires maintenance or it won't run like it used to and your rig is no different.
has to do with your hardware.. Do u have overclocks configured in the bios? Try resetting it all first. Videographic accelaration should be off in windows setting.. Those are 2 big things.. The sim works great from start to finisch, no stutters at ultra setting even on the airports..
Further to the above comments, I had stutters until I found that thread on the msfs forum that shows you how to tune your system so that your bottleneck is no longer 'main thread'. It's not intuitive but you need to turn your graphics UP until your GPU is no longer running too fast for your processor to keep up. Have search round the forum, you'll find it.
I'll be honest, i wanted to see other parts of the world get a makeover, there is so much to see out there and the somewhat blinkered focus on the western/anglo world is, at least for me, a little disappointing.
From what I understand based on comments made in various MSFS dev Q&As, it seems like the decisions about which parts of the world get updated first are based mostly on how long it takes for MS to acquire enough new data about a place to justify a world update. So in general, the western/anglo parts of the world are just easier to get new data for. They are actively seeking and building up data for other parts of the world and once they feel like they have enough new data for any particular country/region, they will release world updates for those areas as well.
Only 3 years into a 10 year project so I'm sure your area is coming. I want to see the Caribbean but I'll be patient because everybody has their choices. I'm just glad that they're doing the world updates. I live in the United States but mount cook New Zealand is my favorite airport in the SIM so I'm pretty excited about this...
You do realise that obsidian is recording his video while flying so his pc could be almost at its limit recording and playing a very demanding pc resorce SIM/ game of course it'll stutter Muppet, At ultra in vr I experienced no stuttering at all.
Would it be possible for you to call it a "sim" or "simulation" rather than "a game". I feel that we should call it what it is - a simulation. Calling it a game is a regressive step, or perhaps a lowering of the bar. If people want a game then that is what we could end up with, which would be a shame. I know people are going to jump all over me for being pedantic, but go ahead - I am entitled to an opinion, just as you all are entitled to yours. However I really wish people would stop saying 'game' and support my reasons (if you think what those reasons might be then you will be on the right track). I feel we should be vigilant with our hobby and not send the message to developers that we are gamers, but rather serious flight replication enthusiasts. There's nothing wrong with games, I am a gamer in other genres, but flight simulation should be classed differently.

The idea of solo flying a AN-225 is a bit absurd. Some kind of shared cockpit would be awesome.
The thought of solo flying in many of these planes is absurd…so I agree. It’d be cool to take the right seat for a friend.

I'm on the series X and I have about 250 aircraft and a total of around 500 DLC's. Get yourself a plug in hard drive and you can add all you want...
Turbulence is what kills it for me in VR...good they will have the option to turn it off. I hope it works.

Disable turbulence is gonna be great for VR. It does get a little much.

The spruce goose cheats it’s engine set up. You can’t control all six individually.
