    Awesome that you are reviewing some rtr stuff, I learned a lot from your reviews of some of the 1/10 scale stuff but this is the kind of bashing stuff that us budget drivers use :-) thanks jason

    I think this was a great review. You're absolutely correct, 200oz. Of torque on a 1/8 monster truck is probably not the best (but for $500...). I would suggest upgrading once it breaks or dies out. I don't mind the manual having other models because when/if I buy multiple models i don't have to have multiple manuals. Regarding the radio, there's no question that radio is chincy, especially compared to what you're used to. Having said that, it is the absolute best RTR radio I've ever seen. That's why everyone, bashed or not, should invest in a solid radio. Thanks for doing this review!

      You're ear to ear chester the cheetah smile painted a pretty good picture.
      If they sold the perfect kits out of the box, Then who would by upgraded radios and servos?
      I think Vas might snuggle up with his "under the covers" 😉
      I kid... I kid..
      I watch his and your vidjas, and even though they're RC related . They appeal to two different segments of the hobby. Point being "what's a Pirate's favorite RC?
      ARRRRRRRMA!

    Truly a beast. It is the king of RTR MTs right now. The Tactics radio isn't bad, it has everything one needs including EPA and a third channel. RTR typically include much worse than this one.
    I run a Typhon, at a track and it holds up pretty well.
    Arrma=Team Durango, which is why they hold up decently.
    That orange servo is an outright lie though, it is not up to the published spec. If it is 150 oz I'd be surprised.

  • @bakermob29
    @bakermob29 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a small thing but I like how that tactic radio has the light on to instead of the side like most of my radios. I haven't left it on yet. Always forgetting to turn off my traxxas radios.

    Interesting to get a review on a basher's vehicle from a racer's prospective. A car that's derived from the Team Durango platform that I would have thought you would have mentioned and make a big point on given its race heritage. Not sure what radio you're expecting for the price, a Futaba 4PLS? I think you may have under estimated its overall value and ability. I mean, you said it yourself, E-Revo is worth far more and the radio that comes with is even worse. As for the servo, I'm yet to falter it given what else is out there on the market. Trust me, I've had plenty of RTRs worth about the same or more with far worse servos. I'm guessing you're probably used to top of the line servos in your race kits, but the stock servo in these cars is ample for a RTR servo.
    Good little review though, I could tell you were genuinely happy with it based on your facial expressions. Haha. Well done. 👍🏼

    • @ShortCourseWorld
      @ShortCourseWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Ha ha! I really only had my full 1/8 race cars and my Revo 3.3 to compare the steering....It's true my Race cars have high end servos and the Revo has dual steering servos.
      Overall I do really like the Kraton. I mentioned it had race style suspension, but as far as the radio is concerned I feel like technology has progressed so far.....a FlySky GT3B is literally like $35 and has a digital display, ABS, end point adjustments and more...
      It's a good platform for sure.

    • @klinkkeng2338
      @klinkkeng2338 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Arrma is awesome but i do have to say 200 OZ/In is pretty weak servo for pretty much any Monster Truck let alone a 1/8th Monster Truggy. And to touch on the Radio. It actually is a really good radio and is fully programmable like changing end points and what not just you have to use thoes buttons on the side.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ShortCourseWorld True, there are some pretty good, customisable and affordable radios out there, but take a look around, no one really includes a computerised radios with an RTR. If they do, it's extremely rare. To me, a RTR radio only needs a good range, good feel and basic features such as dual rates and/or EPAs. Personally, I think the Tactic radio is good enough and far better than a lot of the others out there.

      Aussie RC Playground ;
      Dank, that is one legit reply.
      I got the Talion, way too much truck for the value.
      The reviewer jumped the gun, the manual is one of the best released on a RTR model.
      In the contrary, its cross platform. Not like a Losi 5ive vs the DBXL, its same brand but nothing can be used from one to another.

    it is pretty funny to see a review of a basher vehicle on this channel, its good to see though i like it. would be interesting to see you throw some truggy tires on it and a llittle suspension tune to see how it stacks up against some true trace trucks.

    • @fondfarewell2
      @fondfarewell2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes i know, but is the talion setup for racing or bashing? if he had the talion i would say the same thing, tune it up, put some decent tacing tires and see how it does.

    • @ShortCourseWorld
      @ShortCourseWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely has the main features we all need. It just didn't have a solid feel.
      Not only that but not sure such an inexpensive radio should be trusted with a 60mph - 9lb monster truck.

    • @some19872003
      @some19872003 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ShortCourseWorld I worked at a hobby shops for about 2 years as a mechanic so I ended up installing a few of them in cars. Yeah they feel cheap but it's got more functions than most other cheap radios. The thing I like about it is no antenna wires on the rx which is a big thing bashers always break off. I remember selling the radios new for $50 also so wasn't very expensive. The traxxas radios have a better feel to the build quality but lack in functions for the price.

  • @_systemd

    "some other trucks like revo will use dual servos" - yep, because traxxas's engineers (aka financial department) figured out that using two of their already existing weak, slow and crappy plastic servos, will cost them a lot less than having to get somebody to supply a new fast,powerfull and metal gear servo, as well as they will not run in BEC issues with MM1/MM2. Always money over performance with trx. Anyway, liking the 1/8 Arrma line up, erevo is not a competition for this truck.

    Lol, the comments have a lot of dudes getting butthurt about that stupid gumby radio.
    Arrma seems like a good brand if you just want something cheap to beat on but I just can't see myself driving a buggy or truggy with stamped aluminum parts and 6065 chassis. For the price of a new Arrma Kraton I can buy a used 8ight T 3.0e or Mbx7t eco with better electronics from a racer who wants something else. Or go cheaper and get a used Rc8te or d8te, et48 ect. All of those rides will have machined parts higher quality plastics and will most likley be dialed.
    Still though it looked good on 6s
