We have a huge community thrift store. The prices of these “goodwill” stores are getting ridiculous. I went yesterday and spotted A used thin comforter for 25$. How is this thrifty? THEY got that item for FREE! There is such a surplus of used products. Lower the dang prices so things can get reused.
Hi there and thank you so much for watching. I agree with you that thrifting prices seem to be out of control. That is crazy that a used thin comforter was $25! You can almost buy a new one for that price if you shop wisely. I always crack up at items that are clearly Dollar Tree maked at $2 and $3! I mean really!?! I wish I had a community thrift store option like you. How awesome. My guess is everyone, even thrift stores, are having to raise prices in order to cover the rising cost of overhead and operations just like other stores. We can only pray things get better soon. XO
Our power bill was $ 600 .00 , can you imagine what they pay for utilities ? Insurance isn't cheap . They do pay their workers. Rent on the building is outrageous. They understand resellers. They are not experts . It's still cheaper than store prices or on line prices or big vintage store prices. If you have a problem with any of this. Donate you time and see just what they go through. Our utilities at home are ridiculous. A lot of this happened after Covid. A lot of people did not go back to work. Worker shortages drove up wages , buy our Goodwill too, has a lot of 24.99 prices. More stuff would go out the door at better prices. Estate sales here are very reasonable and guess they go by lots of items out the door make up for lower prices. ❤

Happy New Year! Regular Goodwill stores don't have them but if you search Goodwill Outlet you will find several in your area. You really need to go check them out because I bet you can find a lot of good clothing for Poshmark! Happy thrifting! XO

Your Goodwill bins look similar to the St Vincent De Paul bins by me. Yes...leafing through the deep bins makes me nervous..but I'm hyper nervous about such things. You found some good things! I'm impressed. Some of the Goodwills near me sell their really nice items online for ginormous prices- which kind of takes the fun out of seeking for the treasures. The glass Christmas tree is beautiful. I also liked the straw purse. That will look so pretty with flowers in it for spring! Great job on the gold pedestal. The porcelain flower basket with the gold trim is so pretty! I can totally picture that with Easter eggs in it or even some easter candy.❤ Happy New Year😊❤

I love the glass bowl. If I am correct, it is older and made in Japan. I have a large one that looks the same. I used it as a punch bowl until it was cracked in one of my many moves.

I never remember gloves and I dig through almost every single thing! I love the hunt for treasure and don’t mind digging!😁 I just recently got a Kuul jacket with the tags still on it marked $129.95. It was basically brand new and never worn but tossed about. I find the BEDT clothes deals ever and shoes too!!

Yes, I've been there several times in the past few years. I live about an hour north of Lubbock. I've never found such lovely 'treasures' as you did. Maybe I need to go again!
Hi there! Great question. Yes, I wipe down and sanitize or spray off any wicker with a garden hose and let it air dry depending on the texture and delicate weave of the piece. I also give it a quick spray with the Lysol disinfecting spray. Even if it was never previously own, I use this method to keep my wicker home decor dust free and looking new as part of my cleaning routine throughout the year. Hope this answers your question. Hi there! That is a valid concern. I inspect everything closely before purchase and then leave it in a bag in my garage until I am ready to sanitize and clean everything. You can clean a lot of tea stains and stuff off glass and mugs with denture tablets and hot water. I was pretty amazed. Now, I need to get my wicker baskets together and carry them outside to clean them. I was thinking about using a spray varnish, to protect them, after they are good and dry.What do you think??😊
Amazing haul and great use of the items. Loved them all. I am 62 YO and have never seen or heard of a lampshade cover. Wonderful idea that could be DIYed with velcro and fabric or wallpaper. Thank you for sharing. Be blessed.
I live in Denver , Co We have Arc Thrift Stores that on Tuesday and Saturday they have 4 colors and they are 1/2 price on all items with these color tags for sale ? We also have Good Will Stores and they only have one color 1/2 price on their items ? I get more of a deal at the Arc Thrift Stores ? We don’t have stores with bins ? My Cousin in the last two years moved to Greenfield Indiana to be closer to her daughter and her Granddaughters she had 4 living their and one other Granddaughter here in Denver , Co she says they have bin stores as a thrift Stores?
I love to thrift but Goodwill prices are soaring. It’s really ridiculous. I can travel further to some thrift stores and find really good treasures for very inexpensive prices. There are two thrift stores in our town and one is Goodwill and it’s gotten so expensive I just avoid it now the other thrift EARC doesn’t take cash so I stay away from that store. I have some hidden gems I like to go to because the prices are incredible. I would go to a pound store if I could find one. I need to check it out. You did very well. Happy New Year! God bless. Does your Goodwill Bins store allow customers to line up their shopping carts off to one side of the store & stay in their for hours waiting to be 1st as new bins are put out? I’m talking about people selling used stuff at yard sales, online or whatever? It makes it impossible to shop comfortably at our store on most days.
Hi there! I noticed a few full carts parked to the sides but only a couple. There were people standing around waiting for the new bins which rolled out about the time I was ready to leave. I was so torn on staying to look through them but ultimately didn't have it in me the fight the crowd. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to shop with a lot of shopping carts scattered about. This location isn't very big and doesn't have much room for that. Hi there! The finish was already damaged in a few spots when I bought it so maybe that is what you were seeing? Barkeepers Friend is safe to use on brass and has never caused harm to any pieces I've used it on. Resellers have driven up prices because Goodwill and thrift shops decided why not cut out the middle man and keep the profit ourselves.

It not just a lamp shade cover, it's a lamp shade! I have them, you don't have to put them over a lamp shade, you can hook them on the lamp form.

Yes you definitely need gloves! Our bins are awful. People throw things around, you hear glass breaking, no respect and nobody stops them, I won’t go back

I am always concerned that I will bring home bed bugs along with thrifted items.
Hi there! That is a valid concern. I inspect everything closely before purchase and then leave it in a bag in my garage until I am ready to sanitize and clean everything. You can clean a lot of tea stains and stuff off glass and mugs with denture tablets and hot water. I was pretty amazed. Now, I need to get my wicker baskets together and carry them outside to clean them. I was thinking about using a spray varnish, to protect them, after they are good and dry.What do you think??😊
Amazing haul and great use of the items. Loved them all. I am 62 YO and have never seen or heard of a lampshade cover. Wonderful idea that could be DIYed with velcro and fabric or wallpaper. Thank you for sharing. Be blessed.

I live in Denver , Co We have Arc Thrift Stores that on Tuesday and Saturday they have 4 colors and they are 1/2 price on all items with these color tags for sale ? We also have Good Will Stores and they only have one color 1/2 price on their items ? I get more of a deal at the Arc Thrift Stores ? We don’t have stores with bins ? My Cousin in the last two years moved to Greenfield Indiana to be closer to her daughter and her Granddaughters she had 4 living their and one other Granddaughter here in Denver , Co she says they have bin stores as a thrift Stores?

I love to thrift but Goodwill prices are soaring. It’s really ridiculous. I can travel further to some thrift stores and find really good treasures for very inexpensive prices. There are two thrift stores in our town and one is Goodwill and it’s gotten so expensive I just avoid it now the other thrift EARC doesn’t take cash so I stay away from that store. I have some hidden gems I like to go to because the prices are incredible. I would go to a pound store if I could find one. I need to check it out. You did very well. Happy New Year! God bless. Does your Goodwill Bins store allow customers to line up their shopping carts off to one side of the store & stay in their for hours waiting to be 1st as new bins are put out? I’m talking about people selling used stuff at yard sales, online or whatever? It makes it impossible to shop comfortably at our store on most days.
Hi there! I noticed a few full carts parked to the sides but only a couple. There were people standing around waiting for the new bins which rolled out about the time I was ready to leave. I was so torn on staying to look through them but ultimately didn't have it in me the fight the crowd. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to shop with a lot of shopping carts scattered about. This location isn't very big and doesn't have much room for that. The thrift store is the best place to find them. I see beautiful cut glass crystal there all the time.
I do not donate to Goodwill anymore and I don’t go there very often anymore. The prices have just become absurd and I won’t pay those prices.

Hi there! The finish was already damaged in a few spots when I bought it so maybe that is what you were seeing? Barkeepers Friend is safe to use on brass and has never caused harm to any pieces I've used it on. Of course, I always suggest testing it first on the bottom or an inconspicuous place if you are concerned. Thanks for the great question and for watching! Hope you have a good night. XO
