Mostly similar, legion go has a little edge over the ally probably Ram related. Any testing on battery life? I mean i hear people buying the ally for almost 200 less open box and that would make a big difference (although i have bever seen an Ally in good condition in less than 640 so i dont know where the hell is people picking it for 400-500 in excellent condition unless they are blatantly lying for no reason?)
Best Buy open box i heard most got it from there. Probably preowned units also a lot because people panicked over sd card slots and just sell them after light use.
I haven't done a comprehensive review of the battery life between the two, but from everyday use both of them have pretty bad battery life at least when playing at 30w TDP, I get maybe an hour max when playing a demanding AAA game. Hope this helps!
I always think about this! Like in 2013 we all played GTA V on PS3’s and Xbox 360’s at 30 FPS and now we can play it on the go at above 100 FPS, absolutely insane! Happy Gaming!
Why do all TH-camrs, when comparing these devices, deliberately underestimate the performance of ROG Ally by choosing 6GB of VRAM? Not a single game at 720p resolution needs 6GB VRAM, but the difference in RAM of 10 or 12 GB will be very noticeable. We all know very well that Ally’s RAM is slower, so why increase the difference even more by wasting another 2GB for nothing. Maybe the whole point is that with 4GB VRAM and 12 RAM there is practically no difference between the devices? This is not what advertising tests ( with 4gb VRAM) have already proven. I've been playing on Ally for more than six months now, and I haven't needed 6GB of VRAM in a single game. And I played almost everything that came out in 2023. 6gb vram needed on high resolution like 1080p, 1200p, 2600p...

And I've got 3 units of the same powerbank for Macbook, iPad, iPhone, Apple watch and Ally.
@@Floyd_ish deadly. Got a link?
with the ally having VRR and the Legion Go not having it, does the ally feel noticeably smoother when frames jump around?
VRR does smoothen out the frame drops in a great way, making stutters less noticeable
Yes, when I play on the ROG Ally it does feel smoother because every frame is in sync with the display, so it reduces screen tearing.
Dang the times. Has changed we have handhelds that can run crysis above 60 fps with a igpu
@@faristriesgamingtechsure?
@DoubleDrastik crysis is a very old game lol of course handhelds can run crysis above 60. Hell, even the switch can run crysis. If u hack it, u can run it at 60 too
I really love your videos, really well made and informative. Have a sub!
the go has two usb 4 ports. They are also Thunderbolt 3 for egpu setups. That was some reason going with the go.
Best comparison video ive seen! Great job and helpful as im deciding between these 2
We desperately need a battery comparison :(
Just add "Lenovo legion go battery life" and there should be one by Hi Fi tech life or smth
Someone did it, and the Go has around 2.5x better battery life
You really don't, both battery life are awful. That's it, there's your comparison.
@@NoMoreLies365 However the LeGo's battery does make a difference, it may be awful, but it'll outlast the Ally's by 1.25x or even up to 1.75x
@m4x_payn3_enjoyer a whole 25 minutes more on a demanding game.. Great, lol.
Dismay of this console, what i played is Assassin's Creed Odyssey but it cannot reach 60fps even in medium settings 😅 thanks for the review bro
Awesome video sir! what TDP did you have both devices set at for these tests?
Thank you! both devices were set to 30w TDP.
It shows it in the video. 30W
Just want to asked, did you test both the device with the battery or plugged in?
All tests were done with the devices plugged in and the TDP set to 30w. Hope this helps!
You are definitely look like Francis Ngannou as facial structure. Did you ever hear that 😊. Also awesome video thanks for your effort.
Haha no I haven’t but after looking him up I can see what you are talking about 😂
Does the legion go have something similar to rsr or ris... i play 900p exclusively with one of these turned on depending on how demanding the game is and i find it looks better than 1080p
The difference of 5 to 10 fps on the go is negated by the vrr.. the go stutters much more often and the vrr on the ally makes 40 or 50 fps look ridiculously smooth
@@stephendoerrer4464don't answer your own question with a false statement silly. The go absolutely hasn't stuttered one time no matter what I've thrown at it lol
@luciddr3ams315 I'm returning mine for the ally today because no matter what I've done I can't get rid of stuttering. Between the stutter and it randomly minimizing my games while I'm in the middle of a match. I was playing overwatch and it minimized the game probably 5 or 6 times in 30 mins.
@@Atomic_dipper you'll be very pleased with your purchase... there was just a windows update the other day and my ally is running better than ever
the GO not having VRR was for me the reason to choose the Ally.. amazing diffrence to see with your own eyes.
Yeah, VRR makes a difference especially at lower frame rates. Hope to see VRR implemented into more handhelds in the future. Happy Gaming!
Is this ally z1 or z1 extreme?
I see it is z1 extreme
The best comparison vídeo. Thanks, well done.
Thanks, means a lot!
my friend what software you use to see the stats ?
I used MSI Afterburner for this.
I now feel justified in my purchase! 😂
what system did you buy?
@@jedimojojojo1603 LeGo perhaps
@@m4x_payn3_enjoyerof coarse its better in every way from the videos I see
Reallly comprehensive with one notable absence, an ea sports game like fc24 - notoriously bad! Thanks for this.
And they said this handhelds are struggling to keep up, so 1080p @60fps is doable ? 😮😮My God!
Yes, it’s just that more demanding games like newer AAA games is where you’ll see these handhelds struggle to maintain a high refresh rate at 1080p. Happy gaming!
didnt notice in the video but was this the rog ally extreme?
Z1 extreme
3:48 z1 extreme on ally
Nice video. Glad you decided to keep as many variables constant as you could.
Looks like the Go gets about 5-10% more performance which is about expected because of the RAM. Cool comparison.
Thanks, I appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it.
You legion Go seems working great. Can you share a video how you set it up to be that consistently smooth? Video can be applicable to ROG also
This would be a good idea 😊
So it means go with latest update peforms faster than ally. Iremeber when go launched,it is slower than ally in every test.
It still is, just not every test. The benchmarks clearly demonstrate the superior system being the Ally, its okay tho. Ally won this battle, the war isnt over, the beta males still have a chance at winning!
What do you prefer Lenovo legion go or rog ally or steam deck?
What an awesome comparison. As someone who just ordered an Ally Extreme, I'm a new sub to your channel, and look forward to your opinions and perspectives.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the Ally when you get it.
Should of gotten the legion go after seeing this video I ordered the legion go

Both seem awesome i got the rog got sent to another state for work with like a 24 hours notice didnt research just grabbed what was available kinda wish i got the legion but i cant really say anything bad about the ally either
Both systems work differently
Legion: higher speed ram no vrr
Ally: lower ram speed with vrr
Fantastic video. Great Job
Thanks a lot!
I've been trying to decide which to buy between these 2...I feel like the Rog's picture looks brighter in some games and idk just looks better although the Go Fps are usually higher...ima prolly go with the Ally
That Sopranos ending tho..
Hope you also compare Legion Go to rog ally X when it release. I finally consider rog ally x cuz of better storage and Ram.
I request can you review on pico 4 vr which console is the best to go either rog ally or steam deck
When we get this performance at 10-15 watts, that's when I'm ready to buy.
What about Genshin Impact and wuthering waves? (which both are demanding games)
It's a short difference if you don't see any difference between 1080p and 2k screen resolution. I think that if you wanna do something more than playing, Legion Go can overpass the Rog Ally, for my purpose, asus Rog Ally beats Legion Go, but for others that will use for streaming, or something different, Lenovo Legion Go can be a better option.
Why there is no topic about VRR here? 😅
Because thats call cheating lol
@@rommelchristophermanicad4389 It ain't cheating, wth 🗿
@@m4x_payn3_enjoyer its just a joke .. i mean he did not mention it maybe because that will win the ally in every LOW fps scenario

Awesome detailed video man, much appreciated!
I’m on the fence between the ROG and the GO
I mainly want to play MW3 and I’m drawn to the look and the screen size of the Go
Your Video also shows the performance is slightly better than the Ally
However I saw and read quite some people saying the Ally is currently the more polished and updated one when it comes to software and more straight forward and well thought , is this true or have the recent Lenovo updates fixed the issues the Go had?
Thanks, I appreciate it! Yeah I would say the Ally is a more polished product when it comes to the user experience like the customer UI. The Legion Go has gotten better over time. Hope this helps!
@@faristriesgamingtech appreciate the quick reply
When I mainly want to play COD and probably solely at home , do you have a recommendation which one of them might be the better option ?
The Legion go also feels more like a premium handheld, and the bigger screen is just beautiful.@@ShotgunGuenni
I got the legion go. Mw3 is amazing on it! set you're cpu or whatever to 6 core, game display set to 1600p.Game settings medium. On the screen set to 1200p got whats the fps is but it runs so smooth!
@@ShotgunGuenni legion go is very solid to play with and connect to another monitor and disconnect the controllers you have another screen or a tablet, i use it to play games in tablet mode to, it also have very solid performance and with more updates it get even better

Great comparison I’m happy i went with the Legion Go but the ally does have thr advantage of being able to use an egpu with that connector.
also LG can use egpu
Can legion go play inzoi? I really want to try it on the future..
Can you try Wreckfest?
Tenías las consolas cargando o desconectadas?
La legión Go tiene para poner tarjeta externa como la Rog Ally?
first video ive seen that shows legion go outperforming rog ally on fps... i dont know man, you should get a new rog ally and make sure its the z1 extreme xD

Ngl I was going get the rog ally but after watching this video I'm stuck now because the go won in performance in this video
I don't know which one to get
@@Techguy104It's not always about the performance, take a look at the Steam Deck Oled, it may not be as powerful as its competitors but it's the best overall PC gaming handheld.

in real life, legion under 1200p sux.. screen not clear...720p on ally is better than 1080p on the legion..
@@jeanfrancoisjulien8890 Or you can just enable integer scaling at 800p on the Legion Go and it would look as good as 1200p, and no... 720p on the Ally doesn't look as good as 1200p on the LeGo
How long would the battery last playing mw3 on low settings ?? If I may ask please
45 mins💀
TBH, 5-10fps differences are not small if you compare like 3060ti and 3070… Lenovo clearly wins this
But does the Go have Vrr?
Does crab game work on asus or legion? I have a steam deck but I can’t get past the main menus. Nothing works so I can’t play it. I’m hoping these two other consoles work so I can buy one if it plays crab game.
Ofcourse it wil bro. The main issue is dat on windows handeld you can play from this year and all the way back. You could even play Day Z with modded servers via dzsa launcher. This is not possible on SD. Only original game. No modded servers. No anti cheat. You could even in theorie play DCS on LG. Your crab game will probaply run at 120-160 FPS 1920 res
I want to play cities skylines 2 and planet zoo on the go does it work
Mostly similar, legion go has a little edge over the ally probably Ram related.
@@faristriesgamingtechlegion go 20 watt ? Time

I will be getting the MSI Claw for sure, I’m excited to see how the Intel chip will perform!
Literally just started watching and the LG runs mw3 better and with a larger screen nice
With gta remember when we all used to play at 1080 and was completely playable with 30fps hahaha
I use 5 GB of allocated VRAM, almost all the time and it works wonderful.
Rog ally 1 word VRR!!! 🔥🔥🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
How do you get 720 900 and 1080p on the legion go?
ya dont
rog screen seems better? am I wrong ?
Smaller screen equals more PPI pixels per inch
Colors are more accurate because it's not oversaturated like the Go
I be playing God Of War on 15watts yet it still looks sharp and runs smoothly all thanks to its VRR.
Good for u but majority 99 percent play with a battery bank pr plugged in lol 😅
@@kyokushin1289 that defeats the purpose of it being portable. If that's the case might as well get a pc or a laptop. I barely play my asus rog ally plugged in.

Why are the go colors off? Ally looks far more accurate.
The Go has a wider color gamut screen so all the colors are over saturated thanks to windows color not clamping everything properly
Been playing tiny tina on my legion go. Got it off steam and i have to have it at 1920x1200 60hz and almost everything at low in the game options just to get 60fps. Sucks but still looks really good ironically.
You should try running it at 800p with integer scaling enabled, looks crispier then the default 800p
What about legion go 1600p, test that out

GFN is much better, but you need a good internet connection, and there aren't as many games. Soon, it will take over the market.
