You must have a little crack that the “pointy thing” slides into. I don’t have a crack in which to insert the point thing. My molding is flush with my dry wall.
Omg thank you so much. I had taken my bar down to relocate it, forgot about my plan, and by the time I went to put it back up, couldn't remember how the wedge goes (or even what it's for). Ugh soooo many too-long vids that never even mention it. THANK YOU 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I didn’t either, but by pressing the Sharp bit into where the gap should be you’ll create one (as it’s there underneath most likely, but the paint covers it up). I had to press quite a bit and then it got through. :)
Funny, how literally nobody ever mentions this little piece.. I bought a pull up bar and i was looking at this metal shit for 1 hour in confusion ... just to learn what it actually is... and then not being able to use it, because there is no damn space for it to fit... Fuck the world!
That "safety wedge" will also act like a pry bar. The fact that you can slid a "safety wedge" behind top door jamb trim means the door jamb trim is decorative and just nailed to the drywall. Whenever you do a pull-up or swing on a doorway pull-up bar, you are pushing it up and pulling it down. This creates a pile-driving force. The top door jamb trim will eventually crack, break, and fall off. Without the door jamb trim, the entire doorway pull-up bar will fall down. If it falls off while you using it, you're could injure yourself. I know, it happened to me. I landed hard on my butt and hit the back of my head on a wall. I ended up in the Emergency Room with low back muscle pain and a concussion I was on bedrest recovery for nearly a month.
@@kingzingo1784 He’s saying that if you can so easily slip the safety hedge into the top door frame, then the top door frame is unreliable and dangerous to use
@@krypticcryptic5752I thought he was saying that you just shouldn't use the wedge, because it's essentially helping to pry the door trim off the wall it's on, Without that component, the bar doesn't compromise the door trim's integrity (as much).
Same here :/ Did you guys find a replacement or made one yourselves? Update: I tried it without a wedge and I don't have an issue with my door. I feel confident using it this way with regards to safety.
You can make a gap between the wall and the door frame, they aren't one piece. That's why the wedge had a point on it. I had to tap it down with a piece of wood and a hammer.
How do can I put the safety clip for the Harbinger multi-gym sport? Because, my older brother has already assemble the pull up bar that he bought from dick sporting goods. And we are trying to figure out how to insert the safety clip. Since it won’t stay still on the door. Any ideas?
