Fully agree. At least in my mind, he occupies that special songwriters place passed from Townes Van Zandt to Guy Clark. Many of his songs could teach a masterclass in listening and empathy.
This is a great song, I love the lyrics it is just such a real life inspired song, not the fluff garbage that you hear on the radio. The lead guitar is awesome too with such a rich tone, although not the best quality audio on this video.
