The recently added P-40F. I was looking very much forward to new P-40 models and the F is a welcomed variant to the game in my book. Although I will go on record saying something is off with it. I expected it to be at least a 3.0 to 3.3 battle rating when announced and after flying it... It feels like its lacking around 200 to 300 horsepower. The change to the Merlin engine gave the aircraft a better chance at fighting at higher altitudes than previous models. In the game, the P-40E still seems to perform on par or even better then the F the higher you go. Here is to hoping for an updated flight model soon!

The P40 is one of my all time favorite warbirds. Such a magnificent plane.
RRRnGAMES, even an *E* (meme alert) modification was very good, waiting for wt to update to research this one
A very underrated bird.
It's not often you see an underpowered engine combined with an overbuilt airframe to make an aircraft that isn't really very good at anything.
On the upside, it dives like an acrophobic brick, and is hysterically tough. 5 wing spars means the thing absolutely refuses to die; one Soviet pilot rammed not one, but *two* German fighters out of the air and suffered only minor damage to the wingtip before safely landing.

Fun fact about the P40F: The engine used to power this variant of the P40 has a Merlin engine, Not an Allison engine, like the engine used in early variants of the Spitfire and Mosquito airplanes

Yeah there's still so much room in the US tree for variants of the core fighter models already in.
The US air tree is pretty sparse compared to the Germans, Russians, and maybe even the British.

Julian Bøe yes. Check their max speed for altitude. They are better at different altitudes.

@@julianbe5657 Sort of. More of a mid to low alt fighter more then anything. Its a plane you use for speed rather then for turning.

P40 is a well built plane American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. The P-40 design was a modification of the previous Curtiss P-36 Hawk which reduced development time and enabled a rapid entry into production and operational service. The Warhawk was used by most Allied powers during World War II, and remained in frontline service until the end of the war. It was the third most-produced American fighter, after the P-51 and P-47; by November 1944, when production of the P-40 ceased, 13,738 had been built,[4] all at Curtiss-Wright Corporation's main production facilities at Buffalo, New York.
P-40 Warhawk was the name the United States Army Air Corps and after June 1941, USAAF-adopted name for all models, making it the official name in the U.S. for all P-40s. The British Commonwealth and Soviet air forces used the name Tomahawk for models equivalent to the P-40B and P-40C, and the name Kittyhawk for models equivalent to the P-40D and all later variants.
Interesting Facts cant forget to mention tgat the P-40 saw actiin on all fronts of ww2, from Africa, to the eastern front, the western front to the pacific, China etc. Used by the majority of allied nations fighting in that war.

I wear very keen on this plane arriving, but after spading it, it doesn’t feel like it has the performance I thought it would have. It feels more sluggish than the P40E...but I cant complain about more P40’s in the game. Great to see Bo flying
I play the P-40 hoping to have a match like this, with some nice, cooperative opponents.
The change to aircraft has really freshened your videos guys. Better than playing the game. You should get your own spot on TV like the old five minute cartoons we used to get way back when. Jeez, you got me showing my age now.
Sturdy, good low altitude speed, good roll, and good guns for it's br. Even tho it has poor climb and poor high altitude performance I still love this p40
You got it wrong. In P-40 belly up is a sign of attraction for mating. Its in P-47 that belly up is universal peace.

I put all my 303 rounds in to one and took a flap off, as I dived away 1.3 miles away he gets a pilot snipe on me. 😂
To be fair, the early spitfires before the cannon variants are purely Americans bait on the team, 303 just tiggles the pilots.
Just some advice, go BELOW and head-on w/ 238s. Then once u make ur pass, Split-S and attack the belly if u didn't kill him already
I really enjoyed spading that plane. Very fast spade as it performs quite well.
Funny thing about the P-40F, it doesn't really lawn dart, the tail being extended I guess helped that.
Everytime I bring out the p-40, the Germans end up with about 6 BF-109 in space and I cry.

...although to be honest, until they give it a BR bump, I'm gonna feel kinda bad flying it
The Kikka is my favorite jet, even before the buff, but they are yet to fix the maneuverability. Irl it could out turn an Me-262 but not in warthunder.
