Not only have you restored an iconic piece of Alton Towers history, you've done it at a time in life where there is a worldwide pandemic going in - so in all the bad times, you've stayed positive and done something very productive and you should be very, very proud of yourself. You've brought life back to the once, soulless Bookworm - who was nearly thrown to landfill. This bookworm was seen by millions and has now been transformed back to its glory days. You've done such a good job of the restoration and you and your dad should be proud. The one other major positive you should take away from this though Shawn is not only have you brought the Bookworm back to life, but you've made great memories with your Father. Those are some special memories that you will cherish forever. Good on your parents supporting you and helping you achieve what you wanted. Once upon a time... there lived a bookworm who brought joy to generations of children. But over time he became a shell of what he once was. And whilst it would take 6 years, bookworm and mans dream would never fade. One day the dream started to become reality as each fraction of bookworm was worked on with care and love that only passion could drive. With the power of father a son projects, 200 hours of hard work and a sprinkle of childhood magic, dragged this bookworm from his shadow and gave him a new life. It brought a tear to my eye seeing this, and I don't know why, I have never seen him in real life, but I can see how much he means to you and to Alton Towers and how close you and Dad are.
Despite the condition the bookworm was in, the fact you have restored it to its former glory is amazing, the relationship you and your dad have is so admirable, and it’s been so inspiring to watch this! Even though it is not animated, I would be delighted to watch you animate his eyes again, because what you have is amazing, and you totally deserve it!
Really enjoyed watching this with my children. My youngest is only 4 so never got the chance to see the book worm at Towers, although I often tell him about it when we visit. He has been glued to every episode and constantly said that he wished he could see the book worm. Maybe now he will get the chance. How exciting😃
Maybe I’ve been in isolation too long but I got really emotional at the end there. Seeing all that hard work and dedication from you and papa Sanbrooke really got to me! I'm an American, CP is my home park in Ohio. The last time I went to Alton Towers was a long long time ago, August 1996 and September 1998 (yes, I do have some rather unique credits to my name bc of this), so this series definitely had a special place in my heart. I've absolutely loved this series about the restoration of the bookworm. I can't thank you enough for this series, it's bright back many memories from my youth

But I never thought about how emotional I would get to see the bookworm come to life again. From the left side of the pond in a small logger town called Forks, Washington (famous for a small book series called the Twilight Saga), I congratulate you on your achievement of reviving the Alton Towers Bookworm, an essential piece of your childhood (among many others) and Storybook Land at the park. I immediately knew the end result was obviously going to be one of tender loving care. For heaven's sake, Shawn! You've worked at Alton Towers, a fulfillment of childhood dreams for many, and I can safely say, yours as well. Even though I haven't been to the park itself, or lived the most iconic years, I vicariously toured the park through you and reading various articles and watching videos about this magnificent place. I've followed every episode the day it was uploaded, and it's been delightful to see you and your father doing something positive and encouraging during the lockdown. Gosh he looks fantastic! If only Merlin had as much passion and care for the park as you do. I make sculptures for a living (or at least I'm trying to!) and I can't get over how new and polished he looks. Good work!

I have no personal experience with Alton Towers, but I was so sorry to see that The Bookworm had been allowed to fall into disrepair while still on display. How wonderful that you were able to grant him the "happily ever after" that he deserves! Here's hoping your heroic efforts to preserve the figure will inspire parks and other individuals to follow suit.

As a relatively new Alton Towers fan, I never got to experience the Storybook Land era. By Episode 5 I feel like I know everything about it and how much it meant to so many people, including yourself. Massive credit to you and your Dad to taking on this mammoth task and succeeding. Well done to you Shaun & your Dad, It was very important you restored the Bookworm. Just after a very difficult relationship break up, I went to Alton Towers for the first time with my new found fredom. The first video I took was of the Bookworm as I really liked it. Great job, very emotional.
Outstanding result captured by an equally outstanding mini-documentary series. So inspiring. This should be shown as a film in schools, workplaces, etc. Shows life is not about being all things to all people, it’s taking care of your own wee patch of the world and making it count. Wonderful stuff, well done both of you.

I became a theme park lover ever since my first trip in 1983. My first ride was the Mary Rose. My last ride was on the Corkscrew with me and my dad. I haven't been to Latin towers for about 10 years as I go Californian and visit there parks. I think its amazing what you and you dash have done. Congratulations looking forward to the next chapter.😁

I was going to say that Alton Towers should buy the restored project and not only reimburse you for the cost along with an additional fee for the time and love you and your father put in. Finally at the the end of this video you said it wasn't just for your garden, a nice change from a Gnome! another thing would be a dedicated plaque to you, your father and all those that still have a child in their hearts. Our family discovered your channel during the recent quarantine, and we're so glad we did! Very much enjoying the content--especially this series. I have no personal experience with Alton Towers, but I was so sorry to see that The Bookworm had been allowed to fall into disrepair while still on display. How wonderful that you were able to grant him the "happily ever after" that he deserves! Here's hoping your heroic efforts to preserve the figure will inspire parks and other individuals to follow suit.

Well done to you Shaun & your Dad, It was very important you restored the Bookworm. Just after a very difficult relationship break up, I went to Alton Towers for the first time with my new found fredom. The first video I took was of the Bookworm as I really liked it. Great job, very emotional.
Outstanding result captured by an equally outstanding mini-documentary series. So inspiring. This should be shown as a film in schools, workplaces, etc. Shows life is not about being all things to all people, it’s taking care of your own wee patch of the world and making it count. Wonderful stuff, well done both of you.

I became a theme park lover ever since my first trip in 1983. My first ride was the Mary Rose. My last ride was on the Corkscrew with me and my dad. I haven't been to Latin towers for about 10 years as I go Californian and visit there parks. I think its amazing what you and you dash have done. Congratulations looking forward to the next chapter.😁

I really enjoyed watching your Bookworm come to life again. Although I have never been to Alton Towers I can understand the magic that was felt by anyone who saw him. I was going to say that Alton Towers should buy the restored project and not only reimburse you for the cost along with an additional fee for the time and love you and your father put in. Finally at the the end of this video you said it wasn't just for your garden, a nice change from a Gnome! another thing would be a dedicated plaque to you, your father and all those that still have a child in their hearts.
