To me it's always about singing and Karpe are just not that and Coke Studio was always about live raw music with one of the best vocals. All I can hear is autotuned shril voices and it's just too much for a Coke Studio fan like me. When other reactors put on the song and jhoomo left and right and say wah wah, very good, do you tell them to do more research and give a proper, informed review? If not, this means all you want is for reactors to praise the songs you like. This guy takes the time to think about the lyrics and genuinely understand what's going on. Xulfi is ruining the whole concept and Pakistani journalists are writing about this. The funniest part is that newspapers linked to Coke Studio partners Geo for last two seasons are the ones writing about this.

@@amarei2343 If they can find unknown singers from Pakistan, then they can also find those from the diaspora who aren't as well known by the majority of CS listeners. How about expanding your mind to other types of music, who wants to listen to the same kind of music forever. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they aren't good.

@@fizzypop.81 who said I can't appreciate different music, it's just that Karpe music isn't good What do you think Josh were and Bohemia? They are rappers and Bohemia is the one who started desi rap outside of Sub Continent....My music sense is too vast and doesn't stick with just Indian sub continent artists. I listen to every type of music and more than 15 different countries from Africa to Latin America. From African tribal music to Chinese classical music so you don't have to tell me to expand my mind for other type of music. My only issue is that Coke Studio wasn't supposed to be this and it has become what is because of TV viewers of Pakistan first and then came later audience, it does matter if older audience don't like it because new fans can come and go. This show totally lost it's essence and that's the fact. All I can see is Coke Studio started to make Music Videos now. There is no substance in majority of songs, old used repetitive concept. The only thing Coke Studio did new is that they made a music video. To make it verse they also introduced autotune with latest song which isn't new either. Lot of people can listen to same kind of music and I am not one of them. I prefer vocals more but this doesn't mean that I can't listen to different music style. There are far better unknown diaspora artists out there.

@@amarei2343 Not sure why you keep mentioning those other artists, no one said it wasn't done before, but why can't artists from other countries be given a chance? You don't like their music, so they automatically don't deserve anything? They have been performing for 20+ years through hard work of their own.
You're issue is with CS, that's not down to Karpe. You're directing your issues on to the wrong people. You can add Norway to your list of music around the world and make it 16 countries 🤗

I can see what you are saying. When I first listened to the song it was like wow this is great. However what troubled me was that this song is a product. For me Coke Studio is about singing live in a studio. This season has all been about great music videos, scenery etc and I wonder if the singers are actually singing live. There has been a lot shiny stuff this season but if you get to the basics, I mean the basics of singing then I would question the quality of some of the songs. But hey thats my opinion and I know many people have appreciated this season. As you said much of this song sounds 'electric' the vocals have been through a machine, to enhance them. Everyone uses autotune nowadays but this song while sounding great also sounds unnatural. The video is great, well choreographed, presentation is brilliant, I have been told that its not easy to musically combine different languages together but if just get down to the actual vocals they sound enhanced and electric. The only singer that sounds absolutely natural was Khafi Khalil. Just listen to his voice and it sounds natural. However I have gone on TH-cam and listened to live performances by Karpe. They are good singers but so many singers use autotune in live shows nowadays so I am not sure where I stand on this. If you listen to the Coke Studio songs with Sajjad Ali, Kaavish, people who are vocalists. These songs have relied totally on the singer's talent and not the music. For me this season has been style over substance.

Pi or Piya means beloved/the beloved in Hindi/Urdu. I agree wholeheartedly with u about the vocals. The electronic sounding vocals struck me immediately, and not in a good way. They are quite overwhelming and unnatural for me who has grown up listening to raw powerful voices of Pakistani/Indian or even western vocalists. The echo and reverb seem to be set to max in this one, so much so that the natural voices are secondary or an afterthought. I just think this one is not for those of us who appreciate more natural vocals. A positive is how seamlessly the meaning of the lyrics and the multiple languages were incorporated into one cohesive whole here. Cudos to Coke Studio on that front. Amanda Delara I was not familiar with before but the duo from Karpe I have heard previously and they are good singers. Coke Studio is also a great international platform for Karpe who are very famous locally here in Norway.

As a Pakistani, when I heard this song, I only liked the part by the Arabic singer and the Pakistani singer (Kafi Khalil). Because of them, the song sounds a little bit better, but still, this song doesn't give us the spark we are looking for. I think there are too many singers for one song, and they ruin the flow of the song, making it too much rock by changing the Coke Studio style into something else. I agree with you, it's the worst song of the session. I love your reaction, and in advance, welcome back in the new session.
