I love the fact that you do tutorials on free patterns and show how they fit. It's such a great help. Would you consider unfettered patterns also? Love your fabric choice for this top.
Definitely the best sewing instructions on TH-cam by far! No constant chatter, straight to the sewing with simple to understand instructions and great close ups! ive made 3 different tops following along with you as a beginner and they have all turned out really well , hugely appreciated
Thank you so much for this video. I used it to help me make this pattern and it turned out so well. It is the first time I have sewed a blouse or used a dress making pattern, but I found it very manageable.
Love the top and fabric is gorgeous, thank you for the step by step instructions. I love the style and can be changed by changing the fabric color or maybe color block too ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this! I printed this pattern and I was absolutely lost! It’s the first garment I’ve ever made in my life. The only other thing I’ve ever shown as a make up bag. Because of your instructions I was able to make the most beautiful shirt and I’m so grateful for this channel. Immediately subscribed. ❤
I made this beautiful blouse, the most complicated thing I ever sewn and it came out perfect , I couldn't do it without your tutorial and help ❤️ Thank you ❤️
Question: I noticed on most Tiana patterns you use a 3/8 seam allowance for the total garment when the pattern shows different seam allowance for example this one shows side seam at 1/2. Is this just a preference of yours ? I actually prefer smaller seam allowance for less fabric waste and since I don’t have a serger I use an overlock foot so I don’t have to trim seams.
To be honest, I can't access the layers when I print, so it's hard to find the allowance lines that match my size line. So, I just create 3/8" for all seams. Thanks for catching it.
Thank you very much for this video! I'm German and found the written instruction quite difficult to follow. I'm really glad I found your tutorial as I found it really easy to follow it. There are much more patterns by Tiana's Closet I want to make so in the future I will go straight to your videos.
Hello, I want to thank you for your time and dedication in sharing and giving us the PDF of the blouse patterns. I love this style, but when I have a question, when I went to my printer, many lines appeared in the double patterns. First of all, I want to tell you I am a beginner in sewing and I only sew according to a pattern.
Yes, her patterns include separate seam allowance lines and it can hurt your eyes. 😆 You find your size line and the corresponding seam allowance line (usually 3/8 or 1/2"). Then cut along the seam allowance.
Found this pattern on “MadewithRach” channel and downloaded it to my computer just two days ago. So happy that your video was recommended to me today because I am so confused! Love the way you walk through everything and make it so easy for self taught beginners to understand. Wish me luck! ❤️🙏🏽
Hi, I'm a new subscriber ❤ I'm having an issue printing my downloaded patterns from tiana's closet, nothing wrong with my printer, other patterns from similar websites printing fine. Eg. PEPPERMINT, anyone having an issue? Anything I'm missing? Pls help 🙏🏻
Wouldn't it have been easier to finish the sleeve hem before attatching the sleeves to the bodice and serging the seams with no gathering instead of using the two step process? I can totally see sewing and then serging the seams with the gathers though, maybe even using a basting stitch, in case adjustments needed to be made. Thanks.
I really like the look of this pattern; however, I cannot get the ties to turn right side out. Anyone else struggling with that? Any other maybe easier ways to turn them?
Use the “layers” function in adobe to isolate your size lines only and then print. You will love it!! Find directions on how to choose the layers on TH-cam or Google. Let me know how it goes 💜
Oh, wow! I was thinking about sewing this very blouse and was wondering two things: 1. What size did you choose - as I love your fit and am approx. your size. 2. Did you make any alterations, as in length, etc? I think what is shown on the model looks shorter, and I would like to tuck mine into jeans or skirts (which I have now made!). Thank you!
Hi! You’ll love this top. I made a size XS, no changes to pattern. If you’d like to gauge fit on yourself before sewing, hold the bodice to your body and guesstimate need for lengthening/shortening.
Thank you for the video. It looks like you lengthened this top as compared to where it hits on the website. About how much did you lengthen it? I like where you're hem sits verses how cropped it is on the site.
OMG Thank you! Your tutorial was so easy to follow and kept me on task without throwing in the towel. Greatly appreciated!
Wonderful to hear! Thank you ❤️

Thanks so much! I can't believe I've never heard of unfettered patterns! 😲 I'll have a look. 💕

Good technique for turning the ties.
Thanks! It's handy when straps are super thin. :)

Thank you for reading and answering my question. I understand that the extra line along with the size you need is the seam allowance, thank you.

Great tutorial!! Will definitly do this blouse. How much fabric do you think I will need for a size M?
Glad you’ll make it! ♥️ I don’t know for sure the fabric amount - I would guess just under 2 yards.

@@Sew-Happy This is EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you! :)
When you use an overcast foot instead of a serger to finish your edges, do you backstitch before and after sewing?
It's a great question -- no, you do not need to backstitch when you overcast.
Thank you for the video. It looks like you lengthened this top as compared to where it hits on the website. About how much did you lengthen it? I like where you're hem sits verses how cropped it is on the site.
I actually didn't add length! 😳 I hemmed at 1/2" and I think the allowance was 1", but no other change.
❤
