The stripper Jeanette Moreneau is dumped by her boyfriend Pierre Mornet and she drives her car to talk to him. However, she has a car accident and the left side of her face is completely disfigured by horrible scars. She is approached in the hospital by Monique Riviere, who is the assistant and lover of Professor Alberto Levin, and she tells Jeanette that her face can be restored. Jeanette secretly goes to the professor's house and is treated by him, using a process that depends on the cells that Prof. Levin, who is also a monster that strangles his victim, removes from the women that he kills. While treating Jeanette, Prof. Levin falls in an unrequited love for her and kills Monique. Meanwhile, the police inspector that is investigating the mysterious murders, suspects of Prof. Levin.
LOL....this was so crazy I couldn't stop watching it! Actually I appreciate the wide range of what movie makers deem as good entertainment....at least by watching movies like this, we get a break from the bad politics

I loved this movie when I was growing up. Didn’t remember it being so bad, but I still enjoyed watching it.
This was really a good movie. The acting quite soulful. No method acting here, these were earnest thespians! Thanks for a great flick.!
I must confess I’m 68 years old and this is the first time I’m viewing this film. I’ve always been a horror film fan, but for some reason, I’ve never seen this until tonight. This is an awesome flick.😎👍👍
This movie is a mixed bag, but some of the transformation effects are top notch - especially by early 60s standards.

They also cut out the entire sub-plot about the woman who knew about Seddok, that it was a diabolic monster, not a gorilla, then got killed by it.

I watched the whole thing last night. It was actually okay. The ending was kinda sad. I didn't like the way that the guy, Sasha was treated. He was a mute, and he seemed so helpless and he was very loyal.
This Italian flick received 1 1/2 stars out of 5 from critics, so terrible and trashy it has earned it's rightfully deserved place in the director's hall of shame.

PF, Come sta? So I watched a lot of Spaghetti westerns as a kid with these Irish guys the Green family who basically roared with laughter through the movies while having beers. Lots of fun.
The dad a big guy, put an Le in front of my nickname making it sound French. The whole scene was ridiculous but fun.
But now a Spaghetti horror movie. By golly PF you've done it again.

This is pretty bad, but it's the kind of bad that you just keep watching to the end, hoping, always hoping that something good is about to appear.

Though released in '60, a typical '50s low budget clinker with an untenable premise, atrocious makeup, very slow moving and boring. A few nice "girlie" scenes, one with a gorgeous belly dancer, but still not worth the viewing.
It was beauty that killed the beast. Sorry, wrong film. LOL Good make-up.

The Italian actress in this does a great job of hysteria. There's a similar B film w a much better plot and acting called 'Face of Terror', which blows this out of the water.
