Ross is really nailing the “I took the wrong message from seeing the dead walk again” role. I completely believe his character had a psychotic break and is only slightly recovered. Some say pulp Cthulhu, I say “There’s no consequence! We’ll just come back! Can’t you see!? There’s no consequence…” if you catch my drift.

What a great episode, once again!
You could check the Keeper rulebook on page 84, specifically on the consequences of failing a roll and then pushing it. In the CoC system, an initial failure is often not meant to result in harm, but rather a failure to act or other such hesitation. For example, Vaughn's initial failed jump roll could've left him teetering on the edge of the window still as he stumbles upon realising what he's about to do, leaving the player with the option of backing off and attempting something else or PUSHING the failed roll and going for it anyway, and in this example the second roll would definitely involve leaping out of a fourth storey window! In my opinion this system is great for conveying highly cinematic moments of tension, as well as foreshadowing the danger that could happen should you choose to push the roll and go for it.
On that note, luck can NEVER be spent on a pushed roll, and the Skills section starting from page 59 has a handy example of pushing a roll for each skill, as well as what could happen if an insane investigator fails a pushed roll, which are extra fun! For example, an insane investigator failing a pushed roll to navigate using a map could end up tossing away the map to rely purely on their superior intuition.

Kentucky Bourben at the bar of the Chelsea during the height of prohibition in 1925....lol....I think Rob was sort of implying that he was "hiding" his Pisco Sour in the flask due to prohibition. Drinking is so ingrained in our American Culture we can't even imagine not drinking at a time when drinking was actually illegal....lol. Of course accurate roll play is not as important as interesting characters telling a good story, so you've got that covered.....Besides if they time jump again, not sure I want the accuracy of the Great Depression, so maybe an alternate similar universe is where this is taking place, no prohibition and no stock market crash or ensuing economic disaster.

36:12, first television was invented in 1924, first commercial televisions were introduced in 1929. I don't think a hotel in NY in 1925 would've had a television. :D Radio would've been more likely ;).

So, if i have the timeline right:
Carlisle expidition is “massacred” in 1920, which is about 1 year before the party deals with the cari-cirri (sp?) in Peru in 1921. Then, 4 years later, in 1925, they meet in New York; so, 6 years has passed since the Carlisle expedition first set out?

Lest we forget the USA was founded by puritans (disturbingly relevant now?), alcohol was illegal in the USA from 1920 to 1933, so the Chelsea Hotel at that time wouldn’t have served… and the delightful Pisco Sour or other cocktails would have been illegal, so only available at speakeasys… but i always prefer to have fun with roleplay rather than be historically accurate! (For example, ignoring racism/sexism whenever it makes the game more fun, which is usually.) Prohibition is notable in CoC mainly because it tends to bring organized crime into the scenarios. Loving this series 🥇 As always, enjoying the performances here.

They're Chase scenes wear me out. Action wise and incessity I do see the point and I understand the rules for keeping up the speeds and for the night you can and can someone on foot catch someone in a car? In New York oh yeah LOL because a lot of times even in the twenties New York had a lot of standing traffic that's why they were underground walkways and that's why they were eventually underground and overhead trains because you can jump out of the taxi and run 13 blocks before the taxi can get there. Still the way Chase seems are set up in the rules makes me think we're leaving the role-playing environment and transporting onto a board game environment. And the beginning of the word board game begins with the word bored. I was telling a friend recently the other people playing have to be some mighty fine company for me to entertain the idea of sitting down for a board game evening. Because most board games are just that boring. So when I have a chase scene situation and they do come up, I consider the rules consider the storyline and try to keep the momentum of the excitement and the story going and keep the scenario going and the players invested and engaged, not in moving pieces across a board or even across a map, but rather engaged in the evil snarls and grimaces of their opponents as they log dangerous items out of the car window at them. As the investigators in Pursuit what are on foot or by other vehicles have to deal with injuries excitement and frustration, thinking clearly trying to outsmart the bad guys. And if you're not cutting corns with the bad guys then there's a lot of Storytelling to consider and a lot of danger.
The short of it is that I prefer to maintain excitement and danger of the situation as part of the overall story of the scenario and campaign rather than devolving into a board game situation where the bad guys moved in the good guys move in the bad guys moved in the good guys moved from the bad guys move and people need to go outside for a minute to walk the dog go to the bathroom get another Coke is it too late to order pizza and then we'll lose momentum.

yes, great cast. on the other hand, slowest-moving rpg in human history. #1- learn the rules. #2- never consult books during play- make a call and check later. #3- 70 percent of the talking is fluff- lots of the roleplaying is great, yet characters take forever to choose an action. i think this campaign has about 8 chapters and ive seen it completed in about 8 sessions. took you 8 sessions just to finish chapter 1! is this gong to be a multi-season tv show? lots of potential, but i dont see much improvement. too painful to continue watching. last thing, is it me- or is miss ibrahim insanely lucky?
