    Plopping is my favourite part in a hair wash day. It feels so much of a relief to plop after a long hair wash.

    Plopping used to give me wonky curls and I hated it. Then learnt watching your story on IG that flipping side to side occasionally and shaking the back of the head is the key! Now I love plopping because it cuts down a little of drying time and helps with shrinkage.

    Hi Michelle. You had asked me to change my shampoo and conditioner in reply to my last comment. I have ordered mom and co shampoo - conditioner set and also shirolepum mask. Waiting to test it. I have a question. I binged watched all your videos and read all your replies to the comments. I realised that my second day bad frizz maybe because my method is wrong. I tried plopping for the first time. I applied conditioner on my hair and combed my hair. I don't like the feel of wet hair on my body, so i prefer upside down washing and styling. Washed hair and applied a mcaffeine hair cream i had from before cg then plopped. After that, i did sotc using oil. I had almond oil. I used that. This time, the next day frizz was quite less. N i did dry refresh with oil again next day. I had kinda waves the next 2 days meaning flatter near crown but curved at the ends. My question here is - while combing hair after applying conditioner or mask in shower, Plops of the product fall on the ground when i comb. Do u think it's because i am using more product than required or my method is going wrong?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's very common for water to drip down, because we're applying it to hair that is drenched.
      Not sure the product is supposed to fall. If so, collect it on your hands and apply it to your top lengths. I think I've demonstrated this in a video. Not sure which one though. :(
      Maybe my humidity proof monsoon wavy hair routine? I could be wrong.

    Thanks You addressed the real routine. So much effort but worth it.
    But while the hair’s wet does it leach on the skin n cause acne? same for scalp, does it clog when plopped? Bcz of the products used

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Riya! Have you heard of backne? (Back acne)
      If you leave your back wet and don't wipe it dry after you shower, it causes bacterial and fungal infections. Even in cases where girls are leaving their wet hair in bonnets overnight to dry, they run the risk of bacterial infections. If a bacterial infection is left unchecked, the infection can become fungal. (Seborrheic dermatitis)
      You've raised another super question here about the product clogging the scalp while plopping.
      When you're using a heavy conditioner with butters and oils you always run the risk of clogging the scalp. ALWAYS! The gel forming a cast over the clumps should help the matter. There will be some level of immiscibility happening in their interaction. But it's not full proof!
      This is when scalp massaging everyday comes in handy. Think of it as a method of daily buildup removal.
      I've been super unwell this month. Haven't been able to film. That video on scalp massaging can't come soon enough imo.

    • @anonymus5316
      @anonymus5316 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichelleManuel oh yes! even in bonnets, that has such a high potential of infection. Tho for the face maybe we should just not let it stay wet that's one way to prevent. And for scalp, massaging is definitely key!
      Nvm.. get well soon! xx

      Ok. So you're experiencing back drip of some sort... Before you plop squeeze out the excess water using the t shirt. If you have too many oils and products reaching your scalp it would clog up the pores and cause many other issues.
      In my opinion stop plopping. Squeeze out the excess water with a cotton t shirt and then diffuse straight away.

      2 things you can do if you're feeling the weight. It's pretty normal if you have long hair btw.
      1. Plop for longer
      2. Scrunch out excess water with a t shirt after you plop

      Riddhi you know what? I left a reply to someone in my last video about surfactants. I think I should repeat the reply so that you gain some value.
      You might be allergic to the surfactant (ie cleansing agent) in your current shampoo. Repeated exposure to the surfactant might cause your scalp to get sensitive. It may also in turn cause hair fall.
      Please look into this. If your hair fall is excessive 1. Go to a dermatologist. 2. Look at the surfactant on the ingredient list of your current shampoo. Get yourself another shampoo that does not have the same surfactant.
      You may have a rare allergy that you're unaware of.

      I've done many variations on the routine that cut down on drying time so it's really not that bad. Burning & frying my hair and forcing it to be something that it was not every single day or my life before this, is what I call high maintenance.
      The cgm routine done once a week with all the gorgeous moisturising products feel like a pampering session in comparison. But that's just me.
