maybe in like 2018-2020 after that his content because more repetitive and bland and it clearly shows as he was losing viewership overtime. koneko did leave some positive impact on someone im sure (like me) but he also is one of the main contributors towards making the roblox commentary community toxic and soulless.

it's true that roblox is targetted towards kids but some of the older players still feel empty about how much roblox has changed from them playing with so many people on so many unique games to hardly playing anything with no unique games just filled with cash grabs , no original roblox item events anymore (like the egg hunt) and brainrot (skibidi toilet , etc)

Fullheartedly agree. Only decent times I've had on Roblox as an older player (2012 join date) are in 17+ games where you can meet some funny ass adults, basically say whatever you want, get 1-3 warnings, leave for like 2 minutes, rejoin, rinse repeat as much as you'd like (6 is as far as I've gone, being sexual/racist is taken seriously, though swearing overall really isn't with this method, being sexual/racist will in fact get people banned however,) since 99.9% of the time you get (at least) 1 warning before a vc suspension (0.1% being sexual/racism, those are usually within 1-5 min voice bans/bans if reported, though people still do ban evade by leaving sadly, BUT THAT BAN EVADING ONLY WORKS IF THEY'RE ONLY REPORTED IN GAME, REPORTING ON WEBSITE WORKS so slight W.) The max # of warnings I've had is 3 before a 10 min vc suspension. Other than that, majority of games are only fun with at least 1 other friend, and for the most part only in Horror games where you'd want like 4 people, since the majority of the rest are just a non-stop copy/paste grind for some obsolete or stupid "+9999999999 strength" reason. Oh, and to clarify, I'm not sexual/racist, but I've reported quite a lot of sexual/racist people (there is quite a few weird characters in 17+ games, though most of the oddballs aren't so in a harassing way, majority are all jokes with a few bad apples,) so I know how it works to a T. Quality game examples being On Tap, Mic up 17+, Neighbors 17+. You're welcome for my take 😩.
Another thing to mention that's a pretty good counter to people calling you the p- word is I've actually met a few grandparents on Roblox well over 50 that've been introduced to it by their grandkids, especially during covid when VC came out, and if they're able to share their life experiences and interact with different cultures around the world and find at least some enjoyment in the playform, then what's so wrong with someone that's 20 or 30 finding enjoyment in the platform as well? Not a damn thing at all. It's made for all ages and a lot of people don't treat it that way, so to the people that do call people derogatory things such as that just for being older than someone proves they're just short sighted and moronic and are unable to see the bigger picture of the platform overall. I'm willing to bet if you said something like that and made this point to the ones that do treat others that way, it'd completely change their perspective on how they see older players, considering I've done so myself.

To be honest this POVS are ruining roblox, because back then developers made games actually for others and for them to have fun, just a small amount of them still develop because the new trend are those cash grabber games, a few of the standing one (imo) are badcc and asimo3089, Aesthetical (even though he hasnt been active lately) Abracadabra Games, etc.
The platform feels dead but statistically, the game is the best it has ever been. However, this popularity also made it more soulless and corporate, which is why it feels so dead even though it isn't.
Toilet defense which has 123k players in this video was DMCA at one point but the creator (Telanthric use to be popular pet sim ytber) got the rights to keep it up

The communities just evolving. 2008 players probably thought the community was dying when drive blox and survive the disasters blew up instead of brickbbattles. 2012 players probably thought the commutity was dying when everyone started playing roblox high school and meep city.

I feel like roblox doesnt care enough for its own community, similar to mojang with minecraft. As long as investors keep investing and the cash keeps coming in, they don't need to listen to the community one bit. I've heard talk about that possibly changing but it doesn't feel the same without the roblox input from the past. Egg hunt was cancelled, among other events, there really isnt anything left for them to take. Unless they stop doing the Headless Horseman on halloween. That would be the final nail in the coffin.
I highly doubt they would cancel the Headless Horseman, or ever. Roblox makes millions out of that thing every October since 8 yro keeps buying that with their parents credit card to make themselves look "cool".

Roblox tried to setup the devs themselves to make community events. But due to their own UGC free item program forcing free limited to be set to a specific amount you can’t do egg hunts. Plus it costs money to just even set a amount for those hats. Roblox kicked themselves in the foot for promoting devs to make their own events, yet they completely made it impossible to do huge user generated events. I mean there could still be an egg hunt but it would be limited, and needing funding.
Tbh, DaFuqBoom prob have a team behind it that helps to DMCA all the skibidi toilets stuff. That makes some of the characters like Titan Tv Man in some of the skibidi games changed to Titan Cinema to avoid any DMCA.. Even tho DaFuqBoom have no rights abt the G-Man which is a boss toilet but his face is from another game. The special abt Skibidi toilets is the fighting scenes and the story, that's why is so popular. It will be rlly boring for the start of the series but after episode 30 ( I guess? ) Is kinda fun to watch. [There might be some grammar mistakes, ignore that]

For anyone looking for unique games on roblox I have three suggestions. 1 is Tower Defense X. 2 is releasing on February 17th, it is tales of tanorio. And the last game is Bladers odyssey (I think that is the name) which is releasing sometime this year.
I agree I guess new players that are coming in never knew what Roblox used to have, they just adapt to whatever is coming to the platform. I still play Roblox but I agree, it is getting stale. There hasn't been any good events probably the number one event I miss was the Bloxy's but also egg hunts as well, I know we have UGC limiteds to thank for, I guess it's better than nothing. There’s not as many games of the horror genre that don’t force you to grind/replay, or if you don’t want to grind/replay you pay money for lives and Roblox is over saturated with tycoons and simulators

I joined roblox on 2019. Roblox had many updates and it kept on engaging us but now days im just bored af doing nothing much on roblox and also the community has changed too before these 2 years the community was engaging, kind, positive but now I find good people like them rarely.
Roblox play numbers are kinda boosted by the number of alt accounts people have, basically everyone i know has 1-3 alts and some even log onto 4-5 at once by using on their phone and tablet and then having 2-3 sessions opened up on their PC
I dont think Roblox is dead but I do have to say that it's becoming harder and harder to find anything to play that's actually good or unique... everything's just the same copy/pasted formula if you type into simulator it's either the ones where your training and autoclicking to see who is stronger or those like gumball ones where all the orbs drop into the pit and you sell and buy more and merge them together on repeat

Every game i played and loved is now dead, what really sucks is swordburst 2, devs abandoned the game for years then suddenly came back, but the game barely gets over 600 players now
in my own opinion, they should put up event’s often like the ones we got from 2021 - 2022 and put up good prizes for it, it probably motivates the community to complete some challenges or minigames to achieve an accessory or rather a cool emote.

I highly disagree, since although their are some of these iPad kids their are parts of the community that are actually quite chill and nice, you just have to know where to look since more shooter games will tend to be toxic, but also when you were a kid people may have thought the same but with you and except with other things.

i started playing roblox because it was a way to make games, before i was making games on scratch. i havent played roblox since mid 2023, im now an indie game dev making games on godot, would use unity if they didnt literally charge you per install of your game.
and also from roblox banning users permanently and also people getting banned for like a couple days for breaking rules so they log out and stop playing until their ban is over

Agreed, i was 4, 5, when i started playibg roblox as a guest and it was all fun and games, and now that im practcally a teenager, it is boring to me. And at this point roblox needs to step their games up if they want thier community back from the dead

Honestly, its both roblox's and the community's fault. I think we all know how its roblox's fault, but heres why its the community's. I personally just believe all the little mysteries and overall easier connections with bigger players; such as all the little "hacker" incidents and major easily accessible events hosted by big devs and such. I just feel like now with all the new players, the site has become much more simulator-y. All my favorite past games are dead, and that would be normal and fine IF none of the front page/new games had uniqueness to them. Thats just me tho.

Fortnite killed Roblox because the Fortnite community makes fresh ingredients including Lego and collaboration. Unlike Roblox added a weird update with bots players to gain more players, boring software, and nothing to focus on something was money and kids, and I almost quit playing Roblox to switch to another game like War Thunder.

Its fun playing games on roblox, youll meet new people and stuff but it was more fun before. As you can probably notice, Roblox has stopped doing events for free items, this was how I got alot of things in my avatar collection. Now theres just none, I can only buy robux and get avatar items which I do. Roblox should do events again.

I played since 2013 and I think the biggest thing that is missing is the genuine creativity we had back then. Also most games back then weren’t as advance as the games now.

I think Roblox doesn’t have a community but different games have separate communities. I still have a lot of fun having communication in multiple communities and fan-groups. But not really elsewhere on roblox.

Kids these days dissapoint me so much even though im still a minor, like a MINOR MINOR, im just so worried abt his generation. Also David only cares about the investors and money. i feel as if the things that roblox does for the community is more or less targeted towards the older playerbase whilst a majority of the playersbase are just kids that wouldn't take interest in such things. Roblox is just essentially out of touch with a majority of the roblox community, and most of their major releases aren't particularly targeted towards any of the playerbase majorities, unlike in the past where events that were held targeted the near entirety of the roblox demographic. A great example would be the roblox egg hunts.
Ive had my Roblox account since 2008, it is sad how different it is nowadays. The creativity and originality of the games offered have gone down with much more focus on profits. Grass is always greener I guess.
