i do this with deep enhance gear with defense on it so I'm getting some sort of spell power, but my shield of choice is the drillborer disk when I was doing it as ele I'd go skull flame since I'd get a higher fire strike damage output from the passive spell power gear I had on me.
That is a really good shield! Ya I can see the deep enh build being great. Especially for raiding, since the 20% boost in nature damage is actually pretty big. I think that really gets ele shams, bal druids, and even rogue poisons a big increase in dps, and is the main ability causing horde to have higher dps than alliance as a whole.
Looks alot of fun thanks for the video man, Maybe try the crafted engineering shield from phase 2 in gnomergan? “Whirlling Truesilver Gearwall” It has build in reflect damage.
You know that might be insanely good, or lifesteal. When I did these runs on my paladin, i would target herod in arms with the holy damage seal on my weapon, and he would melt in 1-2 seconds because of the haste. So if it worked with that I dont see why it wouldnt with fiery. Thats a really good tip!
Is there a reason to not use bonespike shoulder guards and other items that do damage to attackers? Or does that have an internal countdown and not worth it? Is it not worth it to use other items?
As far as bonespike shoulders, I'll never get crit, pretty much. In SM I'm crit immune, and with way of earth in any other content im crit immune in pve. I know this by using Eye of the Storm talent in ele, and made a weak aura to tell me when it procs, and in PVE it never happened. I also checked my combat logs just now, and nothing crit me in SM. But I think the best item you could get is the trinket from rag in MC, Essence of Pure Flame, which deals 50 damage back to attacker. The downside though is you might kill mobs as you are gathering them to the entrance. I think a new addition I really like to sm runs I just started doing is adding overcharged instead of riptide. I do have to leave it off during the pulling phase. But the coefficient of Lightning Shield is 100% spell power conversion, or 33% per charge (3 charges) So if I were to compare Cloak of Flames to Redoubt Cloak, Cloak of Flames reflects 5 damage to anyone who strikes you in combat, and I believe that is single reflect to one target that actually hits you, not blocking, dodging, or parrying (my block = 31%, dodge = 10%, parry = 16%)(i'm not 100% sure this is true, this is what my friend told me when we were theory crafting). And redoubt shield gives 7 defense, which is 14 spell power with Shield Mastery, which is 4.62 damage given to your lightning shield charge. When you have 90+ mobs attacking you, lightning shield will always proc every 3 seconds to every mob. On top of it you get defense from it and it boosts all your other spell damage. ' EDIT: just want to add though, seeing all the numbers pop up is fun as hell though, so I wouldnt judge you if you did go that route.
This is awesome, but I think we can see how horde and alliance are even more lopsided. Shaman = insane damage, mobility, high burst, great off heals. Fingers crossed we got dwarf shamans.
Did this w a shaman in TBC classic. You need some arcane res for the mage silence back then but idk how it works in SOD. Still a very viable boosting/gold farm method
Hey when you go over the comparison between the damage from the shields it looks like you said the molten blast damage as the damage for the skullflame shield, but that's your ability. I think the fire damage from the skullflame shield is called flamestrike.
Really nice and informative video! Well done 😁 I would have to point out a minor problem with the dmg breakdown, where "flamestrike" acounted for the fire dmg from skullflame, not "molten blast", which is quite the gamechanger! The difference in dmg from reactive to skullflame only serves to make your show case all the more interesting in my opinion though 🙏 All the best!
this reminded me of the old hobbs videos. but a shaman
whoa, that name just took me back so far i almost fell out of my chair
oh how times have changed lol
Damnn son, Hobbs... I wonder how he's doing these days.
@@bobfromaccounting93 He streams on twitch, plays hearthstone mostly. Though he has been streaming the next wow expansion.
The Force of Will trinket from BRD will greatly help your runs. Should consider getting one if you don't already have it.

Sick vid, I grouped with you recently on my sham and you inspired me to go tank off spec instead of dps
Dope man!! Tank is so fun!

Omg I didn't even know this existed, i wonder if it will kill me? haha that is golden I'll have to try it
With the amount of parry haste do you think Fiery Blaze on weapon would pay for itself, or is it just worse that other options

Reason you don’t use overcharge rune for the lightning shield dmg?
I started using it to kill faster. You just have to remember to turn it off while pulling the mobs or they can die before getting to the entrance.
Amazing 😊
Thanks 😄
lightnign sheild with overcharge will be almost the best aoe since it dmg all ennemie and you dont lost any charge

Ya I would 100% roll a paladin if it were on horde. I just have too much going on in my server. Paladin is such a fun class.
@@gamerpawsitive and every sec. Player plays Shaman. ITS so insane. Wondering If im switching ti other class.xD
Dumbest comment ive seen.
retail wow........
Fetish of Chitinous Spikes from aq20 + essence of pure flame would go hard for this pull
love this shit, thanks for the vid
Great video, I was looking for such comparision for years
@@M00rgy thanks I had a ton of fun making this too!
This is awesome! Both shields are badass and I've been wondering which was better to get, I want to be like Hobbs lol

Ya someone pointed that out earlier, thats mb
Could you also stack dragonsbreath chilli? I think it scales with spellpower and could be insane here
ya that would be pretty cool!
does frd keep the mobs off your magma totem? I play classic, but prob same concept , curious because magma totem is such high threat
I'm not sure, even when I was using the shield from Ubrs and doing this they wouldn't target my magma totem
Mages in classic do this faster.
I used to do this on my shammy during TBC. I wanted to be like Hobbs
haha thats golden
how many gold you got by that farm
If you have a full party paying 10g each per run, its about 200g/hour
