  • The Halifax Reward account can earn you £5 a month (or a cinema ticket) in exchange for jumping through some admin hoops.
But using a few tricks it's possible to double your real return to £10 a month, or £120 a year.
And with the recent change allowing you to have three of these accounts, that could earn you £360 a year!

  • @johnyoung8140

I think the conditions for this account must have changed under the ‘what kind of spending counts towards the offer’ it specifically says: there are a few payments which don’t count for Reward Extras offers…when you make a money transfer to another account. That would seem to bomb out the NS&I hack.

@@otisg3812 sure. If you enter your revolut account, there is an option to top-up your account. There are different options, basically, you need to select, add money, and choose the add card securely option. Once you select to top up via card, it will ask for your card number, expiry date and CSC. That will count as a payment in your Halifax. You can check it in Halifax reward check. Not that if you did today, it takes around 2 to 3 days to refresh the Halifax rewards check eligibility.

Hi Andy, I have this account, also a chase and a revolut account, how I usually do this is I have my salary paid to barclays to trigger blue rewards, then transfer that to the Halifax reward, then transfer 500 to chase, I spend 500 in each chase and Halifax and it gets me a tenner back per month. Am I right in thinking using your method I could continue where the 1500 hits barclays and then move 500 to revolut then the same 500 to chase whilst spending 500 in an additional (2nd HX rewards) account to push that to £15 per month? Then like you said for a third account to pull & 20 per month combining 3x HX accounts, revolut as the "hinge" between them and chase for the additional 1%

Mate, this is a brilliant hack! I've applied for another account and going to use my Chip savings account to debit my account and reach the £500 threshold. I will wait a bit before applying for the 3rd account. I was previously using my matched betting Smarkets account to debit my Halifax card but it always depends on how many free bets I get in the month. This is way better using Chip. Didn't think of that. Well done for sharing!
