Bruce, you are so amazing! I'm grateful for you always sharing your wisdom and experience...but I'm especially grateful for HOW you share it. I walk away from our conversations feeling like a better person thanks to your kind and gentle ways of teaching me. Not just with kiting, I have much to learn from you. :)
Actually I'm working on a new website that will have line touch and other flying videos. The new site should be launched in the next 3 weeks. I'll announce the launch here on youtube.
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge, Bruce! Is the NAFKA still around and thriving? I've tried the website but my browser notes a possible security threat.
nafka is still functioning, but experienced a significant drop off in active members, but seems to be on the up tick. there is a zoom gathering of fighter kiters that your welcome to join, it's every other sunday, it was this sunday. it is posted on facebook on a page called fighter freaks. i'm not a facebook user so i learn about it from a fighter fan who is. hope to see you at the zoom gathering.
www.fighterkitecentral.com, then on the left side menu, click on 'making American style fighter kites', when that page opens look at the menu at the top of the page and click on 'kite plans'. you will see many plans, click on the ones you want to view or download. I hope this helps. Bruce
A fighter kite is only a tool used in kite fighting which is a game... and what ur doing is basically just playing a different game doesn't change the tool you use... there's nothing that make these kites "AMERICAN" fighter kites there just knock off patang kites that you are using for kite flying instead of kite fighting... just because you use a wrench to hammer something doesn't change the fact that its still a wrench 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for your comment Mustafa, you are correct. The North American fighter kite is defined by the games we play, not by the kite itself. However, because the kites are created and tuned for the aerial games we play, games that do NOT include cutting line and losing kites, and flying with shorter flying lines, the North American fighter kites perform differently from a typical patang. And because we don't lose our kites, we make the kites with more durable long lasting materials. I compete with kites I made in 2003 and 2004. We have modified kite fighting to fit with our laws and preferences and call it North American figher kiting and it's a ton of fun!!
