  • Miracle Hill Ministries’ emergency homeless shelter in downtown Greenville recently underwent exterior renovations.
    The nonprofit’s Greenville Rescue Mission at 575 W. Washington St. provides shelter, food and clothing to 142 men experiencing homelessness. It is the largest homeless shelter in the Upstate.

    you have very good intentions there, however I've seen that a lot of homeless have serious issues with addictions to alcohol and hard drugs, so much so that they will refuse offers to get off their addictions, I say this as where i am in canada b.c there are numerous government housing options available for the homeless, but the only way they will agree to move in to such places are if they are allowed to use booze and drug on cite, making the buildings more commonly known as "wethouses" using substances on cite with no fear of being evicted, this is the only way to get their trust. So as yours is a Ministry based project i assume they will not be allowed to move in if they do not start treatment first, i don't know about where you are but in canada b.c this would never work, just saying.....

      That is absolutely false misinformation meant to stigmatize people who are homeless. The reason all those addiction programs don't work is that it is not a significant problem. Most people who are homeless have no connection to any kind of addiction or drug use or alcohol use. That is why those programs fail. You need to keep your misinformation in Russia because Americans aren't stupid enough to believe your nonsense.
