What gorgeous cabins - it’s so interesting to watch MSC dive in to the luxury market - couldn’t be more different to the core product they’re used to offering. They’ve clearly done their homework - so many great features in these rooms!
The sort of trend of the dark gray interior color pallet back c. 2015 was rather depressing, especially looking back on it. But this is dark done classy and warm. I love the brown. It feels so vintage-hospitable. And the sleeper outdoor couch on the balcony is something I’ve never seen before that I’m surprised I haven’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if even Carnival started implementing that in their basic of most balcony cabins in some capacity soon.
Thank you for your detail video as usual it’s great … , We will be staying ocean suite near 8082 .we are sailing from Bridgetown to Miami for 7 nights cruise on 1st of March so we can’t wait .. thanks again for your informative videos ..
A fabulous video with your own special style. I would love to see the same in-depth and creative review of the other suites. Even so, you still gave me an excellent overview. Thank you for your usual thoughtful commentary.
Thank you for your kind words. Sorry the other suites are less detailed but we feel like we would really need to stay in them to give you our honest opinion on the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ of them.
The main competitors to Explora in our opinion would be Silversea, Regent and Seabourn. Though do bear in mind that we sailed in Explora I and did this review just after it had launched so some of the ‘settling in’ scenario’s may be different if you were to sail in them now. We hope that we’ll get the chance to sail on them again next year so we can experience these lovely ships now that they have found their feet 👍
Hi both. As you know, have never done an ocean cruise, only river cruises, but nevertheless love to watch your videos. My wife suffered sea sickness on ferries many years ago, so need to get over that “hurdle”. That said, when we eventually take the plunge ( no pun intended), Explora is definitely on my list. Several TH-camrs have raved about the food and suites. Looks real quality. I understand that the onboard entertainment is less favourable ?
Hey Nik, thanks for watching! Well the entertainment is quite basic, i.e. no broadway style shows, just singers and big band like stuff. Our upcoming experience review may answer more questions, but we'd agree with our peers - the food and suites were excellent! Please assure your wife that cruise ships are NOT ferries. They have much more technologically advanced stabilisation and the focus is always on passenger comfort, not just getting from A to B on time like a ferry. :D
Thank you for this video. Did the mirror only fog up while the bathroom door was closed? I guess I always leave my door open so I never experienced this issue on other cruise ships or could be how long the hot water is running?
We had the door open and don’t have excessively long showers (in our opinion 😆) but the mirror seemed to fog up very easily. Maybe it was something we were doing wrong but we couldn’t work out what it was 🤷😂

The day bed on the balcony is simply genius and will surely be quickly adopted by other cruise lines 😍
Thanks for watching and commenting.

It was one of the highlights of the suite that’s for sure 😍
Thanks for watching.
You mention competitors having certain features that this one doesn't. What cruise lines would those be?

@@visitwithus thanks, Rich. I showed my wife, Debbie, your reply and I got a “mmm”, which is a significant step up from the normal “no chance” ! !

@@visitwithus Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll expect the same thing to happen on my upcoming cruise. 😀
@@GlobalAdventurer A remedy would be to have cold showers but that’s not something we’d recommend. 😂
