I like how the game emphasizes that William was a Businessman in life, both in the plot and most of his demeanor throughout the game. Combined with the solid voice acting, this iteration of Afton is pretty good.
No, no iteration of Willfuck Afton can be good because that Afton is the worst fictional character to ever have been made. Even design-wise Scott did badly on him. It's just personality=serial murderer.
I’m so sad this game won’t get finished, it’s basically everything Security Breach tried to be but better. And William’s in game dialogue is really interesting

Exactly what I was thinking, but I did not notice the curser. And as soon as I saw that it was going to be quite a few titles he was going to have to edit, all I was thinking was, “Aww, poor Lixian!”😄
Not to downplay Lixian's efforts, but he didn't redesign anything. He just snapped different second clips of mark staring at it and overlapped them to match what Mark was saying. Even with my limited video editing knowledge I can imagine it didn't take a video editor like Lixian more than 10 minutes to make it.

This has a lot of potential for a dog-oriented animatronic game. After a corporation's endeavor to create animatronic pets failed (perhaps due to children getting hurt), the robots were scrapped across the country. One person, someone who loves robots, ventures out to these scrap yards to salvage, save, and repair the animatronic pets. Unfortunately, many of them are damaged and react violently -- the "horror" aspect of this game -- but this person is not deterred! They do whatever it takes to get the animatronic under control. Then, they bring the pet back to their shop and repair it, and once it's fixed, it becomes a part of the person's home. A wholesome horror game.
It's so funny how this game switches from very basic, black and white storyboard frames to such good looking, atmospheric gameplay with great dialogue and sound effects
It's probably because the game isn't actually finished and was sadly cancelled. If it was finished it would probably have actually 3d animated cut scenes or at least, better transitions from story board to gameplay
the storyboards themselves are very nice too though! the detail, the way you can see every movement without it being fully animated, and the matchup with the audio is just great. i honestly expected that level of graphics from those storyboards alone
It is such a shame this game got rejected, not to throw shade at the other fan games but this one adds so much more uniqueness into the mix instead of the basic "point and click" style game the franchise and many of it's fan creations are known for! Really hope this dev can turn this around into it's own horror game with original assets because it definitely works as a horror game!!!
The Production team basically has no money nor the time to develop this game, let alone start replacing assets, if you wish to know more about the fall of this game go check out Theft Kings video on the game
I love how the Freddy Dummy literally _is_ Drippy in-game. From the description of how icepacks had to be used to keep the animatronic plastic models from overheating (which would cause them to melt and the plastic to essentially drip) to the physical model. Mark's face when he saw that basically described my reaction. fun coincidence
So the project was turned away because Scott thought it was too ambitious for a smaller team. He didn't want to find it. But consider this, what if Mark funded it? Edit: thank you all for being respectful in the replies honestly, but I have already been informed there are things that make this impossible. Thank your for trying to shed some light but I've been told plenty of times at this point 😅
That is a good reason, though. Taking over an enormous project like this with only so many people would be extremely overwhelming, and only result in a poor product. He know his limits, and the limits of his team. He's a good man.
@@BonesX-ing I don't deny that Scott is a good person and that the project would be stressful, but understand that it wouldn't be *his* team that works on it. Peace and Blessings, everyone. And thanks for the likes.
Sure they can do that..but the issue was lack of funds. So, they would still need to find an investor who wants to give them money to develop the game.
sorry but I believe one of the agreements with Scott is that if they wanted to continue the game in anyway it would have to be non-profit so that means they aren't allowed to start a Kickstarter for the game.
I feel like its less wholesome and him just being tired of the oversaturation of the kid thing turned evil games, also it feels like he just kinda hates fnaf more than ever

To be fair, the game doesn't make very many indications about it other than a cheery tune at the end of a quicktime event so quick that you can't be sure if you won or lost.
Aftonbuilt feels like it got caught in the fallout of Security Breach. According to interviews with the devs, they were kept waiting for months at a time by Scott, waiting for info, or confirmation of a contract, funding, etc. Aside from some funding here and there, Scott was largely silent, and when the time came to get a contract signed to make the entire game, Scott pulled the plug, calling it too much of a risk. This was shortly after the release of Security Breach, and the fallout that came after. It's rather evident that after Security Breach, Scott didn't trust ambitious projects-- after all, if his team couldn't do it, how could an indie team? So the years of work that went into building this demo from the ground up were effectively wasted, which is a damn shame, because Jeliliam was one of the best fan game devs we had, and seeing his first real interactions with Scott go this poorly is a damn shame. This game and its developers very clearly had a LOT of potential, and it would fill in a very big "???" section of the FNAF timeline (the time between 3 and Pizzeria Sim), but Scott just isn't ready to put his resources into a game of this scale after Security Breach. It's an even BIGGER shame, because so far this rough, somewhat broken, and EXTREMELY incomplete demo has gotten high praise from everyone who's played it.
I find it a bit funny with the last sentence you made. You highlighted it's weak points, but in spite of it, it still is considered for it's potential of being a master piece. An incomplete game, desired and highly enjoyed by any whose been able to play or enjoy watching.
@@dontstalkmyaccount3096 it could've been if given the chance. Sadly, scott didn't seem to have considered or even bothered to do so. Hope the devs make an original game of their own based on Aftonbuilt.

I like how afton is very charismatic, that’s why afton got away with stuff in the books cause he could talk himself out of it. Great choice!

Mark not understanding how the fanverse works but being supportive anyway is great
This has a lot of potential for a dog-oriented animatronic game.

I have never seen the words "A wholesome horror game" together before.
The fact that he didnt know about the flood lights that stun foxy makes this so much more impressive and funny
Cant wait for Marks next movie: Laftoni Baloni’s Laftapalooza
It is such a shame this game got rejected, not to throw shade at the other fan games but this one adds so much more uniqueness into the mix instead of the basic "point and click" style game the franchise and many of it's fan creations are known for!
Really hope this dev can turn this around into it's own horror game with original assets because it definitely works as a horror game!!!
I wish Security Breach could've been half as interesting as this.
The Production team basically has no money nor the time to develop this game, let alone start replacing assets, if you wish to know more about the fall of this game go check out Theft Kings video on the game
That opening cutscene was pretty good, considering it was just a storyboard. The pacing and music took it up a notch.

@@deadbunny2938 Well he is a total psychopath, i don't think anyone that can at least think would give away that they are not someone to trust when they are 100% in the hands of someone they don't know huehue. He's totally using the player to get himself into a new body or whatever, wich is exactly what to expect instead of overly evil :P
Bad history is putting it nicely....
Just a few dozen murdered kids, nothing much.
@@Voc_spooksauce That's what I think too but I also kind of agree with Bunny. For someone who's been trapped in a suit for 30 years he didn't even sound disheveled when his memory was transferred, he's known for being charismatic but he's also rude, i think they need to find a good balance without being overly evil but keep some elements reminding you that he's not a good person without being over-the-top
I like the fact that the screen's eye move along in the voice as if afton is actually looking around, the attention to detail is really neat
Pretty sure that it's because he is.
Mark: *Walks to the point where the bomb goes out of view*

Nah Bc that’s a dumb control though💀 none of the other things work like that
@@kelseyallman8424 I mean, I havent played this game myself yet so I wouldn't know, because he kept complaining about things without ever trying to learn.
Holy crap! it’s Vincent as the main character, glad to see him in a fnaf game
I was going to say Mark is Scott's favourite person so maybe... but anyways, I hope the developer of Aftonbuilt doesn't quit as a game dev, they've shown great potential.
They probably will. Scott and Mark shit all over it without giving it a chance. Marks problems weren't even due to bugs or bad design. Need line of sight. Don't spam the scooper in one spot to rig the game.
@@gmork1090 that’s a rather bleak outlook. Then again the world has been kind of bleak as of late.
@@gmork1090 bruh are u kidding me, look at how many people in the comments have showed interest in the game and are hyping it up. mark literally showed it to a lot of people that might not have seen it, and now theres a lot of interest around it. if you give up developing because someone says your demo has bugs, you shouldn't be developing in the first place.
@@gmork1090 lmao Mark didn't even hate on it though? He got frustrated bc he didn't understand the mechanics, but, at the end, he really liked it and said he'd play it if the full version came out or it was released as its own thing. Also, the game devs only made the game for the fanverse, which is a huge risk because then that's the only thing keeping them going. A good game developer would've finished this game even if it was rejected, but they gave up so easily just bc Scott didn't approve
@@thegeneralgamer4921 They gave up because they didn't get the funding to make it, can't make a game if you can't pay rent. Happens all the time, even at AAA studios. When a company like Bethesda is looking to create a new game, people at the studio pitch game ideas (sometimes ones they've been working on in their own time, with a demo kinda like this) and the vast majority never see the light of day.
Mark restraining himself to not roast the game due to the game's problems is so fucking funny to me

@Doppio The Troll ?
it's really sad how Scott approached this and I think he didn't consider how much time and effort was put into it
in my opinion, he should've given the team a bigger chance, the way he suddenly changed his opinion was pretty wrong of him and I don't think I'm the only one with understanding for the team's frustration
I agree, what is also wrong is that you have what seems to be a pretty fun game that took a bunch of time and effort into it like you said being rejected by him, but then you have a dog sh1t game like Security Breach/Ruin that had rushed development, an inexperienced dev team (and what I mean by inexperienced is they didn't make a game of that magnitude since they were/are? a VR game dev team) and so many bugs and glitches in it that it could make a grown man cry!
It's funny to watch Markiplier struggle with this game while he's trying to stay positive for the sake of the developer

it's funny how yall are blaming the developer when mark simply cant bear a single tutorial and then is surprised when he doesn't know how the game works. in mark's old vids he used to be throrough with video games and i watched him because he was one of the few content creators who actually cared about the backstory and was thorough when playing most video games... idk what happened to him now

It's one of the things that make certain videos hard to watch imo. Mark is a smart guy, but he really needs to check out tutorials when games offer then.

mark not realizing when he finished the objectives is the most painful thing
in other news, i adore this game- i just wanna see someone get further in it! it'd be so cool to see a full game too
To be fair, the game doesn't make very many indications about it other than a cheery tune at the end of a quicktime event so quick that you can't be sure if you won or lost.
This is why I play tutorials lol
Honestly i wish we lived in an alternative parallel universe where this got funded instead of SB
And to finish it off, he restricted them from crowdfunding or raising their own capital on it. Effectively he killed this game out of ego, spite and fear
I love Mark, I really do, but watching him aimlessly wander in these types of games makes me very nervous and I don't know why
