Thanks for the video. Favorite moment was when you asked Sprite which color plastic opal grill he would want. Ha! He was disgusted that you even asked. 😬
Lap Dave thank you for taking us along on your videos. I have become a fan of your humor and personality you come across at genuine. And ♥️ your guitar playing.
Thank you so much I really appreciate you saying that :) I try to spice it up with humor I hold a lot of it back lol I try not to make too many immature jokes but it’s hard to control myself
I saw a booth at the Red Lion Inn that had some really nice jadeite. They had lots of colors including the purple lavender and lilac jade too. I think there's was Guatemalan Jadeite.
Me too my friend I have The pleasure of going back there in the next couple days to pick some up for a subscriber I’m excited even though it’s not mine and not my money it’s still fun to shop for such awesome goodies
Hi Kona, stabilization is saturation of the stone with a resin or similar bonding agent. Turquoise can be crumbly, chalky, dusty; stabilization minimizes those issues.
25:50 There is no such a thing as Turkish Turquoise. Turkey does not have any turquoise mine. The name was given to this stone because Turkish merchants were bringing Persian turquoise to Europe during the middle ages.
AZ Raven, most shows are open daily, roughly 9-5. Some are early-bird, some are rockin’ out past sunset. Bring plenty of H2O, good shoes, dress for warm/cool. A bicycle and/or skateboard helps a lot.
O my I'm in westvergina and I'm trying to find some beads and I'm going crazy watching this the prices here are crazy if you can help me in the right direction of buying some stuff would be very appreciated
Did you get you any Jade off of that guy I bought a necklace off of j I really like that jade I would spend some good money with him if could get a decent deal off him

It would be my honor my friend I will come and visit you tomorrow :) I will try to have a video or the next day to help bringing some traction and let people know where you are when they come to Tucson thank you for the invite
Moldivate was over hyped by Heaven & Earth. We where told there was a very limited amount! Well over 20 years later look at all of it. Great reason to keep raising prices! I am glad I got out of the business of Stones. I miss the good old days!

Hey Dave. How could I get you to buy an Ethiopian opal in matrix for my collection? Or maybe even a grape chalcedony piece. We usually go to Tucson, but since my mom is older now, it's not possible. Great videos!

have seen a couple of your videos, good variety of stuff. never have been to a gem show, now i am curious. why do they call Sleeping Beauty turquoise by that name??? my friend, she only works with sleeping beauty. she's a good silversmith.
it’s just a trade name the mine owners gave it supposedly it’s because it gets darker as you age it / wear it like the tru beauty is sleeping within the stone
I sent you an email awhile back with pics of a stone, well 2, that I have. You said in a vid you’d help me identify them. I can 👀 what’s in the matrix it’s the squigglies on top n how/why they were formed n why they’re a diff material. Check for that email if you can. Couple months ago.
Love the Rhodochrosite grapefruit slices...! $10 a gram for that quality?! Shut up and buy it!!! What are you wasting your time looking at synthetics for?!

i offer custom wrapped stones at the shows i sell my art at, had a client bring me a piece of moldovite to wrap for him. I was terrified someone would try to snag it while i was working on the frame!
I remember the days when the gem show was mostly all craftsmen making their jewelry right there. Miss those old days. It’s a zoo down there now, lol
I would have loved to seen that my friend
Gerat work, I enjoyed this as I do all of your work. Thank you for your efforts and high quality work. Please keep it up.
