I love Strasburg not cause of the Sodor excursions but the atmosphere. I think because they have been a operational RR for almost 200 years now with steam and the staff wears period clothing. I lived in Kinzer for a year and used ride my bicycle to the bridge on rt30 and watch the locomotives swap around to push the train back to Ronks. It's amazing how the train station President Lincoln made a speech at on the way to the white house is still there in paradise PA. Great video and congratulations.
Best of luck to ya. I would be 100% open and honest and tell them your goal but start by volunteering at the museum and on days off go anyway and just chat it up with them ask detailed stuff like" what's the ideal steam pressure that #89 operates at and how do you raise or lower it while on the road. And when they say pressure gauges and that they use a valve and levers that releases steam ask them if they would mind showing you or since your a you tube content creator gesture a camera to them and ask if they could give you some in cab footage / explaination so you can study it. Steam trains fade away when no one wants to learn to run them so i think any one showing interest in the field would be welcome. Especially if you don't know the mechanics they can teach you on their locomotives and rolling stock. And in turn keeps the railroad running.
@@anthonyj.adventures9736 Thank You! I appreciate the comment, that’s not a bad idea, I was thinking about getting a job in the gift shop as to get in the place! My friends mom knows someone who is an engineer there and I’ve seen him here and there, I’ve been into trains since I was basically born so I’ve learned a whole lot over the years, that’s mainly why I’d love to have this job!!!
