For me, I feel quite confident in saying that I’ve forgotten more football, than these two have ever seen and all those numbers that you two are using to formulate your opinions is fine. It’s all projection at this point. I’m a person who’s knowledgeably watched the NFL since the late 70s, and I’ll tell you this. Stats are fine, but if you know the sport, and you know what you’re looking at, not to mention, when you have a database that goes back 6 decades, all this number crunching is secondary. When you’ve watched the NFL as long as folks me, we know that the “eyeball test” is just as important. And my eyes tell me, that Drake Maye is a project and Jayden is way more ready to play immediately. And if one more analyst says that dumb line about Drake Maye coming from an athletic family, I’m going to scream! His family tree has NO BEARING on what he is now, or will become in the future! I appreciate listening to you guys but I’m going to stick with the experts like Kurt Warner, Dan Orlovsky, and Jordan Palmer. Seems like they have a more informed opinion of both of these guys. JMO
Those three have shown no ability to predict QB success at a higher rate than your run of the mill prospect analyst. It's hilarious to see someone write multiple paragraphs about how they're so smart, then just fall back on an appeal to authority falacy. Congrats, you're the best joke I've heard in a while.
Actually, I respect their professional opinions when it comes to how they view those aspiring to become NFL caliber QBs. I never once said that I made my own decisions based on any one of the people I mentioned. I simply stated that I preferred the analysis of the experts over what I watched in this video. I’ve watched the sport long enough to be able to come to my own conclusions on who I think will do well at the next level. Nice try though.
I agree OG. These types of guy see yt boy and his size then say he looks like a QB 😂. These guys had Levis over Stroud last year for a bit. They don’t know what they’re seeing. They just see Maye as a QB and don’t see Daniels as a good QB. They don’t really understand their bias. That’s why they make up any excuse possible for Maye but knock Daniels for the same things or something very trivial to rank him lower.
As a Justin Fields owner, feeling pretty nervous about the long term value of Jayden Daniels. Great fantasy football QB with elite ceiling and athleticism, questionable NFL franchise QB that could be on a bench somewhere by the end of his rookie QB. Not comping the two as similar QBs, just talking pure value comp…
I totally agree that people are not taking into account the age / experience of these QB's. Daniels, Nix and Penix should be good by now, what did they look like 2 years ago? JJ has a much stronger arm than Brock Purdy! For me J J McCarthy is the pick For Washington. I defo agree that he's unlikely to be a top 5 QB, but he is more likely to be a top 10 compared to Daniels, Maye, Penix and Nix. Caleb has so much talent...let's see how it works, he's top 5 or bust for me. IMO.
For real. Back to back 4600+ yards season, 4.5 40, cannon for an arm amazing pocket presence. 157 passer rating all with 65% accuracy. How could such a talent be 6?
23:37.A big part of why I don't get McCarthy as a top 3 pick. He doesn't have the arm strength or size of any of these guys and is a little less mobile.
Man, y'all felt like you explained all the reasons why Maye should NOT be #2 but just kinda want him to be anyway. And the lack of experience is a mark against him. He's gonna be the #1 guy wherever he goes (Washington?) so I don't know how much time he's gonna have to develop.
D. Maye is trash J. Daniels is not only the best Qb He's the best Player in this Draft and it ain't even close. He Won the Heisman for a reason. 50Td's and only 4 Int's in the SEC plus over 1K rushing who else has ever done that?.........................I'll wait. SMDH
If you don't think Penix is going to be a starter long term then why would he get a 2nd round grade Hayden? lol why would any player get a 2nd round grade if you don't see a 2nd contract starter?
I think you guys are nuts, talking Jayden Daniels at #4, he is clearly number #1. The conference, decision making is elite, dual threat, that's what keep you in the playoffs every year like Lamar Jackson. Let's see how your pocket QBs do when all most all edges are running 4.3-4.8 giving you maybe 2.5 seconds to pass. You guys are Bias, look at PFF rankings. You telling me a guy with the 2nd best QB season in College Fottball history, only behind Joe Burrows who also came from LSU, his game will translate better than all QBs this year.
Nice review guys. The NFL has proven they suck at judging QB's, along with everyone else. Two of these guys probably have successful careers, two are probably starters for a few years and at least two will bust. Who does what, is anyone's guess at this point.
now i want everyone who is reading this to pay attention to Mel Kiper. watch his comments about every POC that goes in the first round....please do not make your opinion from what i am saying here just listen to him. he has been doing this for years and has not been called out by the NFL or sports media
@@dlemieux9405 If Maye is a huge project then JJ is simply not worth taking in comparison. Maye will enter the NFL and immediately be greeted with better coaching a huge upgrade to the roster around him, he will play year one and will be fine to great. Daniels will also be fine as long as he stays healthy which can be coached. JJ is not NFL ready and needs to sit, a team is simply not going to waste a top 2 pick on a guy that isn't ready, especially not the commanders who need a QB immediately
@Zeffpenguin Maye has the stronger arm between the 2. Otherwise, there is nothing Maye does better JJ came from a pro style offense with mediocre receivers. His accuracy in and outside the pocket is far superior to Maye on every level of the field.
@@dlemieux9405 McCarthy had the better coach and the better lead leading to far less pressure. McCarthy also rarely had to play at a deficit leading to even less mental pressure. Maye can make any throw on the field, something McCarthy struggles with in addition to general decision making. McCarthy is nothing special, not a bad prospect but needs time to develop. Maye will instantly see a huge upgrade in coaching and talent around him giving him more time to work on his problem areas. Maye has a much higher ceiling and is the better prospect. He could bust but I just doubt that he will. I’ll gladly eat my words if I’m wrong come game time though
I don't understand the Williams love fest. He went 7-6 last year. Not something I expect from a great QB. But time will tell. Nobody "knows" these things. Just a guess at this point.
Just dropping into show love you guys are the best I look forward to all your videos, but I do have to disagree with winks about Jalen hurts. I’m honestly not convinced he’s a good quarterback.
What a terrible ranking. McCarthy over Daniels? Average arm? Too old? I guess if you're just going to ignore mobility and performance anything seems plausible.
Y’all are so over analyzing QB based on metrics that don’t matter. Metrics that do matter are the ones that will show up on game day on Sundays. All of your arguments are easily refuted and it’s clearly easy to see why Penix is great. First of all, Penix did not have the best talent. I’ll say this again and again he makes them better by playing QB at a high level. He gets the ball out quickly, he processes plays ultra fast, pre diagnoses the play before the snap, and he throws the ball away. You have to stop doing this, “I don’t know how he gets no sacks” runaround and call it what it his, skill. It’s pocket movement, pocket awareness, I mean I don’t know what else to tell you, he gets the ball out quicker and still throws for more yards, TD, and wins more games than these guys. He’s not a check down Charlie and gets the ball out and evades sacks, do you know how special that is? Back to the talent argument. Does anyone know how many of these guys were elite before they played with Michael? Just look at the O-line and how many returned and his WR? All below average bums and I’m a Odunze fan. You think it’s just a coincidence that they all of the sudden started getting better on O-line now that they play with a real QB who helps diagnose pressure and defensive fronts, gets rid of the ball quick and challenges said defense down the field? Do you know how difficult it’d be to block for mister molasses progressions Caleb Williams who scrambles from the pocket and gets rid of the ball beyond 3 seconds (Penix under 3 seconds) almost 50% of the time? Who do you think is harder to block for? Never mind the fact Penix guys run real NFL routes because he goes through is progressions at NFL speed, identifies his one on one’s, and gives them a chance by throwing 80/20 balls not 50/50 balls I mean have you seen the placement on these back shoulders? I think I saw 5 good back shoulders from CW all year. I’ve seen Penix throw 5 in a game. Who’s helping his guys, who all had no more than 500 yards before him mind you, who’s helping his guys develop their traits at the next level? Penix. What is CW helping his WR do? Scramble drills and backyard football when the play breaks down? That’s not translatable. You know what they get? All the blame for CW and Maye that’s what. And could we please stop using “Michigan” as a get out of jail free, I’m an analyst bs? At least he carried a team with lesser recruits there. That’s literally the same as saying, “well what about ND” with Celeb, or “what about half his college career” with Maye. If you want more context go look at what Michigan did to any other QB not named Taulia (still a tough game) all season long.
Y'all are high. Penix at 6 is nuts, JJ above Daniels is nuts. JJ is going to be a big time bust and you will have to eat these words. Not like youtubers ever take accountability for their takes anyways

I have absolutely no idea what you guys see in Drake Maye…. Caleb and JJ are the best 2. Jayden and Penix are boom or bust. Drake Maye is a bust, and Bo Nix is a guy that needs to be on a completely stacked team to win.
JJ is the worst of the bunch and will only not bust if he sits for 1-2 years. Any other QB can start in the NFL, year 1. I would be shocked if Maye isn’t substantially better than McCarthy
@@Zeffpenguin Drake Maye is not even in the same stratosphere as JJ McCarthy. I don't even know why people are comparing them. If I was the Commanders I'm taking JJ. He has the least risk and he can play. Jayden is a risky player to pick.
@@anthonyc3306 lol that is based on nothing, McCarthy didn’t do shit in college and is the riskiest prospect by far. McCarthy will bust if forced to play year one and will probably bust even if he isn’t. Maye could still bust just like any prospect but has all the tools and just needs a little refining. McCarthy has a weak arm, never needed to carry his team, and is still developing physically and as a QB. It’s not impossible that he succeeds but I’m taking the under on that one.
@@anthonyc3306 This is simply fiction. McCarthy cannot throw outside the number and had a 25%+ uncatchable pass rate outside the numbers, this is not the sign of an NFL ready QB. Doesn't mean he can't be developed, but McCarthy is not ready right now and will likely need to sit for a year or two. This is simply not the case for Maye who has a better arm, can make every throw on the field, carried his team, and threw something like 30-40% more passes than JJ in the same length of time. Drake will immediately know how to handle an NFL offense, and JJ will at best be a game manager without time to develop
The JJ McCarthy hype has gotten so out of hand. The only stat I keep hearing Josh bring up every video is the “3rd and 7+” because that’s one of the only metrics he ranked near the top in. He has a lot of red flags..his stats after the cheating stopped are pretty pathetic. 0 TD’s in 5 out of last 7 games. Under 150 yards in 5 out of last 7 games. You watch his tape and rarely find a throw that’s on target. Not impressed with the processing either. Watch him play against Maryland this year. Zach Wilson is a perfect comp for him.
If anyone has JJ above the other 5 QBs I question your abilities to analyze tape. He should be a second rounder or later. He is an athlete. That’s why out of the 6 QBs for accuracy 25+ yards he was waaayyy below everyone else below 40%. The games where the team depended on him more you see how erratic his throwing is and how bad his decision making is. Go look at the list of QBs from 2000 and on that won the national championship. Then tell me how JJ is way above them 😂 He will bust just like them. And his ceiling is Alex smith… I question your guys analysis….

23:38 Dude said "Dak Prescott" 💀💀💀
As a Justin Fields owner, feeling pretty nervous about the long term value of Jayden Daniels. Great fantasy football QB with elite ceiling and athleticism, questionable NFL franchise QB that could be on a bench somewhere by the end of his rookie QB. Not comping the two as similar QBs, just talking pure value comp…
Maye is the most overrated QB in this group by a mile. Taking him 2nd overall is nuts Commanders.
Wrong. That’s Daniels. Dude had two first round WRs. Who did Drake have?
@@Michael-mc6od OldTakesExposed - "How could throwing to NFL-calibre WRs help a QB prospect?" - You idiots are hilarious.
Might as well make McCarthy #1 at this point. He’s gotten so much better since the season ended that his ceiling must be the best.
Bo Nix later to the Chicago Bears after the trade back 😁 💯 best NFL ready qb in this draft 😎
IMO.
I am pretty much lock step with you guys ... except it's
Williams
Maye/ JD5
McCarthy
Nix/Penix Jr
Rattler
I want to see Rattler play in The League.
Caleb will be a bust, and jj over Jayden daniels is just getting cute. Lowkey disrespectful
Facts
I think Maye’s footwork and decision making are much bigger red flags than people are discussing.
Bo Nix strikes me as a more FBIntelligent version of Mitch Trubiski. He is also more poised than Mitch.
Penix is a top 5 QB, if he falls great for him. He’s in a spread offense very minimal blocking, put him in a run dominated offense he will murder.
He lost me right off the bat with Penix at 6.
Where u got him? 5?
For real. Back to back 4600+ yards season, 4.5 40, cannon for an arm amazing pocket presence. 157 passer rating all with 65% accuracy. How could such a talent be 6?
@@thewheyoflife3548 age plays a role he had a great scheme and team.
Then something like ESPN is probably more of your speed.
Bo Nix is so old, he was on the same team as Derrick Brown, who is on his 2nd NFL contract 😆
This happens frequently to be fair
So only 5 TO-worthy plays means he's old?
Give me old.
Jd5 qb1
23:37.A big part of why I don't get McCarthy as a top 3 pick. He doesn't have the arm strength or size of any of these guys and is a little less mobile.
Gah my boy Penix is gonna cook when he gets to the league. Yall gonna roux the day. This dude has IT, something Bo Nix and JD just dont.
Man, y'all felt like you explained all the reasons why Maye should NOT be #2 but just kinda want him to be anyway. And the lack of experience is a mark against him. He's gonna be the #1 guy wherever he goes (Washington?) so I don't know how much time he's gonna have to develop.
Drake Maye????? #2 Have you read Matt Waldman’s report on him???? Joe Milton 6th round pick is out playing Drake Maye aka Zach Wilson 2.0 in camp.
I do like Drake's attributes, but he seems to have a lot of miscues by someone who has already had pro coaching. Josh McCown was his HS coach.
I feel like Nix, JJ and penix are better than everybody
Why does Caleb williams have a sleeve on his leg?
Why doesnt anybody bring up what he did with lackluster talent at indiana when he was healthy?
It’s weird when you say McCarthy can’t compete with a Prescott or Lawrence and have him over Daniels and penix cause the film says they probably could
It's amazing how many people are incapable of understanding that college production doesn't necessary translate to NFL production.
Penix #1
This list is trash lol… JJ played in a 2008 NFL offense 😂… Maye has the same accuracy as Blake Bortles!
I stopped listening after you put JJ McCarthy over Jayden Daniels 😂
Dude said JJ McCarthy could compete with Justin Herbert
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fuckin based having Jayden QB4 THANK YOUUUUUUU
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice review guys. The NFL has proven they suck at judging QB's, along with everyone else. Two of these guys probably have successful careers, two are probably starters for a few years and at least two will bust. Who does what, is anyone's guess at this point.
now i want everyone who is reading this to pay attention to Mel Kiper. watch his comments about every POC that goes in the first round....please do not make your opinion from what i am saying here just listen to him. he has been doing this for years and has not been called out by the NFL or sports media
Keep it up boys.
Oh my word! Who are these flakes?
Heard nothing but excuses at #2 for you guys.
JJ could be going #2
There is no world where this happens
@Zeffpenguin is possible. Jayden is a dollar store RG3 and maye is a huge project.
O'Keefe Manors
I don't understand the Williams love fest. He went 7-6 last year. Not something I expect from a great QB. But time will tell. Nobody "knows" these things. Just a guess at this point.
Just dropping into show love you guys are the best I look forward to all your videos, but I do have to disagree with winks about Jalen hurts. I’m honestly not convinced he’s a good quarterback.
Brock Purdy is light years better than Trevor Lawrence
And in a different universe than JJ McCarthy
JD wont gain weight because hes "so old"? The kid is 23. You dont even fill out as a man until 25-27 years old. What is he talkimg about
What a terrible ranking. McCarthy over Daniels? Average arm? Too old? I guess if you're just going to ignore mobility and performance anything seems plausible.
The worst take on this class by a mile! I will be waiting with my popcorn to see y'all defend this at the end of next season.
Williams John Harris Shirley Robinson David
Bro, space your thoughts out please! I almost went blind trying to read this joint! Good points though. ✌️
Cope harder
@@vonjingo911 I’m not in English class. You could understand it who cares?
the national championship is all you need to watch for penix. guy will not be good in the nfl
Boo!! Horrible analysis of Penix. Bias for some reason?
Y'all are high. Penix at 6 is nuts, JJ above Daniels is nuts. JJ is going to be a big time bust and you will have to eat these words. Not like youtubers ever take accountability for their takes anyways
Bo Nix the worst !!
Bruh... Penix at 6 and Daniels at 4, you either have a hidden agenda or you don't know football. And I'm a fan, not a guru. But I know your type fam. Its clear dog.
😂😂😂 he has Caleb #1 you crybaby jeez everything gotta be about race with you people 😂 why even watch the video just so you can get a rock on all 3 black qbs being the top 3 weirdo
JJ McCarthy.. Caleb Williams and Drake Maye will get their coaches fired
Really higher on Nix than any of these three. I believe in Nix over McCarthy but not over Williams or Maye lol
@@Zeffpenguin McCarthy has a way better arm than Maye. You don’t need to throw it longer than 60 yards
Maye will be the best QB in the class
Then tell me how JJ is way above them 😂
He will bust just like them. And his ceiling is Alex smith…
I question your guys analysis….
