- fix your lilliput/xenarc/whatever touch panel with a lighter and a minute or two (brief video because I was in a hurry - if you don't know what I'm doing, you don't need to do it)

I used similar method with a hair dryer on my car dash head touch screen which was not responsive after dismantling it from the car and took out the resistive glass panel. It worked and save me money from buying a new unit. However need to be careful as too much heat can warp the screen and heating the four sides with the metal strips and pressing the sides work better.
Hey, thank you for the hint. I just saved my Brother PR-600 embroidery machine. It had a faulty touch screen where the upper area just didn't receive any touch signals.
During the repairs I used a small crafter heat-gun to warm up the edges and a piece of folded fabric to rub them down.
A new touch glass would cost about 120 USD.
Wooohooo ...... just repaired two China made 5.7" touchpanels. I ordered two samples for my project and both were DOA. Y axis (Y+ and Y-) showed no resistance in between them. heated both the Y axis conductors on panel with my cigarette lighter and both are working now withing 30 secs flat!!!

Your video inspired me to light a match and put it to my screen. Like magic! It starts working for a couple of seconds. Just enough so i could switch it over to video mode!!! :) So happy right now!
Great tip, i used a t-shirt transfer iron to do the job on a konica c252 touch element, its working again after 25 seconds at 230 farenheit.

This video helped so much. My 7" Dynamix screen started acting up a few months ago and I couldn't figure it out. Even swapped out the touchscreen controller with a friend's. The digitizer looked fine. After this video I looked closer and found that the one corner was the tiniest bit raised. I heated up the corner with a blow dryer and and pressed it hard till it cooled. Screen has worked perfect ever since.
Hairdryer worked for me. Warmed the screen and the right edge buttons which were problematic work fine now.
Berry, did you remove the screen to do this or leave it in the case?

hey so i got a xenarc 700tsv. i dont know enough about it. but i know its not working when i try to calibrate it. do you know what could be wrong? it recodnised it and worked (sortof) under windows "flick" drivers but it didnt let me do anything with xenarc drivers.
is this what the fix is for?

sure is not a permanent fix, but it worked 4 me. I checked multimeter and found the wire with infinite resistance (maybe you'll need to know the values of working panel), followed it till its border and heated up 4 a few seconds.
Now you got to press it with ur fingers (don't use too much strenght, you sure will crack it).
If your problem is due to loose contact in the panel, you can fix it this way. Find, before heating randomly the full panel, the side with poor contact and work on it!!

i'v got 3 DSlite TS. All wont respond before and after heating.
I see that you heated the outer edge of the touch screen. All there is at this location is two coated traces of conductive silver that are on top of each other creating a capacitive condition. Truly I believe all you really did, without knowing it, was reheat the anisotropic glue containing metal particles where the cable attaches to these traces. What can happen over time is these metal particles in the glue become detached where the cable attaches to these silver traces. Is it possible you can heat near where the cable attaches to the glass next time, and use pressure to make sure these metal particles make contact?
I had lines on my touch screen before. Now ith has gone all white. Now, when i cool it, the touch screen reappears with the lines, but it messes up after a while. how do i get it back 2 normal?

what if use a program on tablet pc with broken dizitizer which shows about it's touchments? and install it and run with mouse(if only tablet pc allows OTG)

how did you connected the touch screen to pc?
+ivan zk using the hdmi output of the tablet to clone the video output.
(you can even try to apply a little pressure on each side with the panel connected to controller and to usb to investigate).
