Man I was so excited when the cowboys signed him a couple years ago and Gerald McCoy a known vet leader. I thought with Poe, McCoy, D-Law, a rejuvenated Aldon Smith with antwaun woods and a rookie Neville Gallimore from Oklahoma I was really high on to rotate. Mannn I thought we were gonna have such a dominate Defense led by the line with Jaylen smith (who wasn’t yet a full blown wash in the Cowboy’s eyes) and LVE behind them.. man then Gerald goes down and Poe never worked out and gets cut. Unfortunate. Poe d law and McCoy if all clicking would have been a disaster for opponents especially if they were able to hold on and stay clicking when Micah came. Imagine Poe and McCoy still around their prime on this defense lol. Worked out though we are in my opinion the best defense anyway this year.

I'm 2 hours east of Memphis in rural af Tennessee. We had a big cornbread fed country strong dude like him my freshman and sophomore year. We had the same type play with him running it in. The other play I'd I got the ball and would literally hold on to him and ride him into the end zone. We called it the fat horse🤣 dude was an absolute monster. Had Tennessee, Alabama, etc talking to him going into junior year. He ended up dropping out. Just another poor family, bad grades Tennessee story. Today he's like 6'6" 275 of pour kick your ass🤣.

Just because he COULD stay on the field doesn't mean it was the best thing for him. They played bend-don't-break, instead of attacking, and rarely gave him a break. It's hard to say just how good he would've been the last few years, without that bad disc in his back, but I don't think he would've had any problems at all if they had been more sensible about his playing time. It's hard to tell with such a freak athlete, but I saw many a time where he'd blow things up with a superhuman effort, only to see the secondary give up a big play. It took a little steam out of him, the longer the drives and the games would wear on. Almost unnoticeable, but still noticeable. When your Big Uglies make great plays, they gotta get a payoff and not have it squandered because the guys around him aren't doing their jobs.
Poe was by far the biggest guy on the team, but there were linebackers who looked bigger, standing next to him. I don't think I've ever seen a guy with more densely-packed muscle, or a guy who could move like him at 340 pounds. He was kind of wasted on that KC defense, in my opinion. He's one I wished we'd kept, but they decided to pay big bucks to less important players. At the time, coming off a back problem, the move kind of made sense, but it was a bloody shame. I hope he always keeps that gentle-giant demeanor.
