It is all so absolutely beautiful and amazing. Thank you for showing us such lovely things in this video. The BBQs by the lakes - there are BBQs like that in some country places here in the UK. I have seen them in the New Forest in England and at the foot of Bennachie (a mountain) in Scotland.

In addition to the Oslo tree in Trafalgar Square in London, trees are also donated to Aberdeen, Grimsby, Kirkwall (two, on ouside and one indise St Magnus Catherdral), Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Sunderland.
The Nowegian royal family's rrots do NOT go back to the 1200. The royal line died aout at about the time of the Kalmar union in 1397, when Norway, Denmark and (for a while) Sweden went into a union. After that, the royal line was the Danish one, which was not related at all. The present family is an offshoot of the Dano-German Glycksburg-Oldenburg house (which has married into a few of the royal houses of Europe: The Greek, Russian Romananoffs, the British, and Norwegian), established as Norwegian royals in 1905.

Good question!! Well, you better check it with immigration companies - Norway is following some rules of European Union but I’m not sure how’s visa situation 🙂
I know that to come to Norway as international non-eu - you’ll need Schengen visa
Norway is not a member of the EU, but a Schengen member country. If you get a Schengen Visa (which is what you get when applying for a visit to the EU), you shouldn't have any problem travelling in Norway (or the rest of EU/Schengen).

Never leave trash. I can't stress this enough. Norwegians WILL at least call you out on it or get angry with you. This is usually how it is in general, but especially if your hiking, in a park or other public areas. It's very frown upon! There are usually bins everywhere you go even on remote trails, so do yourself a favor and use those. Also not picking up droppings after your dog is considered equally bad.
Norwegians also put a lot of effort into sorting out trash for recycling. Recycling is considered to be important and it's expected for you to do so in your household. It's normal to have a different container for each type like glass and metal, plastic, paper and cardboard, organics, etc.

Norway's fishing community is the best in the world ;) We are all descendants of fishermen. My best fishing memories are from Hitra.
Look up Lofoten and Hitra to see about salt water fishing.
Also i've gotten giant pikes in freshwaters everywhere.

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel ya! she says it is not yet a "staple" fish in japan and usually grilled, but in America I think it is at least as popular as tuna. what is your fav. sushi? mine is eel, but that is cooked, so it would be tuna, then yellowtail, then salmon raw. i could eat sushi every day if I were rich, lol. i look forward to fishing when I move to bergen!

I love everything spicy actually- like spicy tuna and spicy salmon, then I’d name octopus, squid and scallops. I’m a massive seafood fan 😁
In Bergen sushi was sooo good by the way! So fresh and the variety was amazing!
There’s also legendary Fish Market in Bergen 😉 it was closed when I was there due to current situation.. but I’ll definitely be back for it 😁

Our Royal family is not that old, after we departed from Sweden and become our own country again there was a debate about if we where to be a monarchy or republic, it was desided we wanted to continue to be a monarchy.
But we lack royal family so we had to ask our neighbours about it, we did ask the swedish royal family for a prince aparently they declined, but I also think we really really wanted a prince from the danish royal family.
So we asked... and their prince wanted to become our king on one condition, we had to vote for it, so there was held a referendum and he won !!! so he took the name Haakon and become King Haakon VII and was democratic elected king !!!
His son who came with him from Denmark became King Olav V, and is the father of King Harald V. They have all been great kings, and I believe they are also related to both the Swedish royal house, Danish royal house and British royal house.

Sorry to say, but we have had Kings all the way back to Harald Hårfagre in 865-931. So Anna is correct. But you could say that the Royal family of today has its ancestry from England. Also, England was invaded by Vikings and their bloodline is somewhat merged somewhere in time. I'm no expert, but it's possible that the English Royal family has some Norwegian or Danish Viking blood :)

about the public income data, i don't really care about it. it's kind of a thing where it involves everyone so its not a big deal. monetary value in Norway is not weaponized in any means and i think it's for the best. Also, a 16th fun fact: a few years ago when Americans had some military training near Kongsberg, some soldiers came across a kindergarten in the middle of their recess. As a joke, they began to have a snowball fight, but the kids completely overwhelmed the soldiers and they had to fallback. The kids tackled the Sergent to the ground and proceed with what we call "Kryne", which means you take a handful of snow and either show it in their clothes or in their face. The story was told from the Sergent in a post somewhere.

It's a floating bading platform,it's mostly used by kids to jumping into the lake.
Most of the public bading places in Norway will have at least one.

The reason why salmon from north atlantic is prefered to salmon is because of they have less to no parasites... I did read somewhere, that is probably also why japanese did not use salmon from pacific ocean.
That’s actually a very interesting point! Also Norwegian salmon is quite fatty 🙂 maybe it’s also a trick why people tend to love it so much.

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel I think it might be, but to be honest I don't eat norwegian farmed salmon, I like fresh wild salmon instead. Wild Salmon is less red in the meat (I believe they add some sort of colors to the feed) also wild salmon is less fatty, farmed salmon is lazy :-) so it gains fat

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel I live up in Finnmark at the coast, there use to be several people fishing wild salmon at sea but this year and god knows how long it will not be allowed to do that because it is so few wild salmon going up the rivers.
Yes you can fish wild salmon in Norway, many rivers where they charge you a fee to fish for like a day or so ... many sportsfishing doing that.
Its quite possible some specialized fish stores might sell wild salmons... people often prefer farmed ones because of the colors but I think wild ones are better.

About Northern Lights, back in the old days people in Norway used to scare their children by telling them stories about that the Northern Lights were the spirits of the heavenly realm appearing in the skies, most likely a scare tactic parents used to ensure that their children would be home by the time of dark. Stories about ghosts, trolls and other nature spirits are very prominent in Norwegian fairy tales and folklore. xD

@@AnnaGoldmanTravel Yes, I remember my grandmother telling me when she was a kid she believed it to be the spirits of dead people, so she was told ''not to wave at them'', because then they would come down and take her. xD It's like little scary fairy tales and histories that parents back in the days used to tell their kids to ''encourage'' them to be home by the time it was dark outside, so the parents didn't worry about where their kids were after dark. xD
