I like the US version in general, especially because it had a tournament format. It had two negatives: presentation, and the fact that they had "chip girls" rather than automated chip removal.
First time seeing this, and it's already one of my favorites. Good format, cool staging, questions have some difficulty. Britain has so many incredible game shows that I wish could come across the pond.
There was an American version as well, which, from my British perspective although the production quality wasn't as good, it did have some good tension.

Paul was able to force Silvia into three big mistakes - didn't cover the answer properly when he played an accelerator, and she then didn't lock her answers in before playing her accelerators. She panicked - simple as.

When Sylvia panicked during the Accelerator from Paul she very nearly wasted one of her own in the process, not that it made much difference in the end.
Fact for you: Maurice (who shows up at the end, around 39 minutes in) fell down a six-foot hole in the set during the filming of the series, halting production while he got better, and while the set was redesigned to fill the hole.
To set the facts straight, my accident occurred due to a malfunction on the set, which was recorded in Maidstone. I returned to the show some 2/3 months later, after breaking my foot, still on crutches, which was recorded on a different set at Fountain Studios ,Wembley, where they record X Factor. I have to give thanks to all the production staff and especially Nick Hancock, who gave me great support during my recuperation
I'm guessing it was on those retracting walkways? I noticed in later episodes they stopped sliding them out... sliding the bridges away was a cool effect but I'm sure you had a different opinion. :( Always enjoy hearing from former contestants!
@@brandonmartin-moore5302 I was walking over the bridge onto the centre stage when it was withdrawn whilst I was on it. I fell 2 metres onto a concrete floor and broke my foot. My head went through the side of the stage which luckily was made from thin plywood and I only suffered severe bruising of my neck. I was informed that if the wood had been any thicker I would have probably broke my neck. Never received any formal apologies from anyone, or any explanation as to the cause of the accident, other than a hearsay remark that there had been an error in communication between the backstage crew.
Sylvia let her nerves get to her. I have to say I arm chair quarter back from home but I also know I am not in front of the lights camera,audience etc because I would be a nervous wreck but most people don't take any of that into consideration before going on shows
On the US version of Duel if both players get a question wrong there's a sudden death shootout and they answer 1 more question with 4 chips and whoever gets the question right and uses the fewest number of chips they continue playing.
Wow these people are dummies. They don't know what isn't a mushroom out of the choices? Or what Dinosaur has plates on its back? I mean where do they find these people? These questions aren't anything more than what you learn in elementary school. Sylvia doesn't belong on the show. She is too nervous. And her opponent isn't too much better either. How could he say a brontosaurus has spikes on its back? The second you see Stegosaurus you put it on that and push your button. This isn't rocket science. I think the show is great but they obviously aren't looking for smart people to be on this show.
