I liked Last Man Standing, it's a good show, I'm surprised that ABC Entertainment cancelled the 2nd or 3rd highest rated show on the their network. It was pulling in a different kind of audience. They pulled it not because of whatever they said, they pulled it IMO cause ABC is a left leaning network. LMS is now in reruns on Hallmark Channel. Hopefully someone picks it up soon. As for ABC, forget about it. They got rid of SHIELD and will replace it with The Inhumans in the Fall.

They talked about fan loyalty based on consistency of the day of showing of their favorite shows. I think this is becoming less of a reality that used to be. I had several of my favorite shows that I do not miss an episode of, but I couldn't tell you what day any of them air on. All of our favorite shows get saved to DVR, and we watch them as time permits through the week. sometimes we will get behind on several episodes, but then we'll have a binge watch and catch up with three or four episodes of the time. I imagine there are quite a few folks like us, and as a result changing the shows air time and date wouldn't be near as big a deal as it used to be.
CBS paid Charlie Sheen $2 million per episode of "TWO & A HALF MEN", Angus T. Jones, $250,000 per episode & so on. Get with the 21st Century. Weekday scheduling doesn't really carry that much weight anymore. With streaming and DVR, viewers will watch their favorite shows whenever it's convenient for them. I've got into Last Man Standing via Netflix. Cancelling a successfully show makes no sense unless they have a political agenda. High ratings justify higher revenue for advertising, so how do you justify from a business point-of-view cancelling a show with high ratings?

Last Man Standing was the 3rd most watched show on ABC in terms of viewership averaging 6.5 million viewers compared to their most popular show Modern Family with an average of 6.8 million viewers. It was the 12th most popular show on ABC in terms of ratings with a 1.15 rating which is nearly double the rating of other shows that did get renewed like Marvel Agents of SHIELD with a 0.74 for example. The cancellation is bullshit. Hopefully FOX picks it up.
I watch the show on the dvr, just like all my other shows....I have no idea what night they actually air. So the idea moving to another night may cost viewers doesn't really jive in what is now an on demand market.
The rest of us have real lives and watch at specific times that we set aside. So if you move from friday to wendsday the audience can't follow. We can't reorder our lives for the TV. I work 2nd shift with Sun,Mon. off. I can't go to my work and change my schedule for a show.

I think it’s fair to say that ABC having to start paying for it is probably the main reason why they discontinued it. That makes the most sense. However, I also think it’s reasonable to think that a large reason why ABC didn’t want to start paying for it was bc they didn’t want to be solely responsible and attached to a show thats overtly conservative. If it was another typical woke show that gets every excuse in the book made for them as to why the ratings suck, I’d be ABC would’ve likely taken over the production cost. The problem is that with the introduction of TiVo and other DV-R, as well as Hulu and other streaming services, the fact that it airs on Friday is irrelevant. I set it to record, then watch it whenever I want. Granted I do get annoyed that I have to wait until that day for the newest episode, or a couple of days after it airs to get to the streaming services, but it's like living underground in a way. At some point you don't know what day it is, whether it's night or day, is it spring or winter, who cares? The scheduled time slots are going to be phased out, tv is no longer going to be broadcasted and instead will be streamed, like Netflix is doing with Daredevil as an example. Already CBS and others have apps that you pay a monthly service to watch their programs, but no the full available season like how Netflix is doing. Ultimately all waters will level though.
I'm with the girl on this one.. Move it to another night & it would become the #1 comedy on ABC. Already #2 on the worst night of the week for tv ratings. I don't believe a word out of Glenn Beck's mouth after he admitted he doesn't care about politics, he's just an entertainer. It's in a Forbes magazine interview, go look it up you non-believers!
I watch it over here in Australia. Grew up with Tim Allen. Disappointed with the news. Saturday nights are when its on here. So.. as with what that Lady said. changing the night is a small issue and not the main factor. Its a definate cop out what this blokes saying here.

Last Man Standing was the 3rd most watched show on ABC in terms of viewership averaging 6.5 million viewers compared to their most popular show Modern Family with an average of 6.8 million viewers. It was the 12th most popular show on ABC in terms of ratings with a 1.15 rating which is nearly double the rating of other shows that did get renewed like Marvel Agents of SHIELD with a 0.74 for example. The cancellation is bullshit. Hopefully FOX picks it up.
It's just a sitcom Tim Allen can make fun of Hillary's they can make fun of each other, it's just comedy people, and it should be treated as such.

I watch the show on the dvr, just like all my other shows....I have no idea what night they actually air. So the idea moving to another night may cost viewers doesn't really jive in what is now an on demand market.
I miss this News program. dont get me wrong i like " The News and Why it matters" but I like more different people on a panel
I don't care what day of the week it is. I love the show but if it is not on Netflix then I can't find it at all. I do not watch regular TV.
Tim Allen is fantastic , Last Man Standing was a great show .
The rest of us have real lives and watch at specific times that we set aside. So if you move from friday to wendsday the audience can't follow. We can't reorder our lives for the TV. I work 2nd shift with Sun,Mon. off. I can't go to my work and change my schedule for a show.
Beck lost his mind when he spent that time in the hospital with "that condition". Now his show sounds like a couple (he and Stew) of Middle Schoolers telling each other INSIDE Jokes and expecting us to understand and demean us when we DON'T. sad, he HAD so much going for him once.

Not many people watch shows when they are aired. If I didn't have shows DVR'd I wouldn't ever watch them. I didn't even know Last Man Standing was on Friday night. I'm part of rural America, we support our local Friday night high school basketball and football games.
I love Last Man Standing and right now I hate Saturday Night Live. For obvious reasons.
Miami Vice was on Friday's and everyone watched it was on at Parties ,Night Clubs etc... Quality Sales.
I'm by no stretch a conservative but I still enjoyed the Show very much. Ordinary people can watch a show with someone displaying a different ideology, as long as it's done with humor and good taste. I never had a problem because there was balance in there and it showed the other side of the story.
But again this nonsense conspiracy against the US right wing conservative is pure snowflaking. When the US conservatives are wrong on something, they find snowflake excuses and attack whichever other side they are told is the cause. They would never look at their own ass or any logical explanation like money. It's the ennemy's fault, all the time, for everything, you know the enemy made up to keep me as an obedient conservative voter by the GOP-led interest groups and right wing media ?
Beck is objective even if our views differs much on many subjects.

I think it’s fair to say that ABC having to start paying for it is probably the main reason why they discontinued it. That makes the most sense. However, I also think it’s reasonable to think that a large reason why ABC didn’t want to start paying for it was bc they didn’t want to be solely responsible and attached to a show thats overtly conservative. If it was another typical woke show that gets every excuse in the book made for them as to why the ratings suck, I’d be ABC would’ve likely taken over the production cost.
So wild how all the woke programming gets all these excuses as to why nobody watches em. They’ll say cord cutting, toxic masculinity, and bigotry all contribute to these shows being trash. Then you have a show like this that while conservative, isn’t all in your face w/ woke messaging doing huge numbers and they’re willing to just cancel it. Lol clueless
The problem is that with the introduction of TiVo and other DV-R, as well as Hulu and other streaming services, the fact that it airs on Friday is irrelevant. I set it to record, then watch it whenever I want. Granted I do get annoyed that I have to wait until that day for the newest episode, or a couple of days after it airs to get to the streaming services, but it's like living underground in a way. At some point you don't know what day it is, whether it's night or day, is it spring or winter, who cares? The scheduled time slots are going to be phased out, tv is no longer going to be broadcasted and instead will be streamed, like Netflix is doing with Daredevil as an example. Already CBS and others have apps that you pay a monthly service to watch their programs, but no the full available season like how Netflix is doing. Ultimately all waters will level though.

I'm with the girl on this one.. Move it to another night & it would become the #1 comedy on ABC. Already #2 on the worst night of the week for tv ratings. Also, as I'm reading comments Merl Ball has a good point. There have only been 6 seasons & as Glenn Beck says, they paid for 8. So Glenn needs to get his math correct.
