Ozzys Apizza is a place to try as its New Haven Style and one of the best in LA, and Heirloom is really good too for NY-ish. Oste is fantastic for Roman style Pinsa. Pane Bianco makes great slices too. There really isnt a top tier NYC style place here yet.

These are solid recs here Brandon! I would also add Vito to the list. Just had some Vito's slices for lunch the other day and I love the old school New York vibe they got going on and pizza tastes pretty good too

What are some of Dan's favorite NY Pizzerias?
I've been to NY several times and all 3 of these LA spots stand toe-to-toe with some of the best spots in NY.

Denino's Pizza in Greenwich Village is an all-time favorite restaurant. Have to get the "1951 Original". Best Pizza in Brooklyn is a great option for Grandma Pizza. A good grab-n-go slice I usually go for is Little Italy Pizza (multiple locations but I order from the Fulton Street location). Their sauce is spectacular and their crust has this interesting texture on the underbelly that is really good. Stay away from Joe's Pizza (overrated).

I could definitely vouch for Appolonia’s, Sei, Vito… but maybe not Prime Pizza. It becomes a chain now so I assume it’s quality control they’re lacking?

@@miketttran To me, it's the Joe's Pizza of LA. You can look at that as a good or bad thing. As much as people dislike Joe's (because of its tourist trap appeal), I think it's good and does NY style pizza good justice (for those who've never had it). Also, Prime's recipe was helped by our boy, Frank Paniello, who owns Best Pizza in BK. Best Pizza is one of my favorite NYC pizzerias, so maybe I'm a tad biased.

@@ColellaProductions The first time I ever had Little Italy Pizza, oddly enough, was when I was waiting in line at Adel's and my lady needed to use a restroom. That was the only place that let her use it. She was kind enough to buy a pepperoni square as a kind gesture. When I saw the slice, it was drenched in pepperoni! I'm a pepp lover so that made my night. 😄

@@cuhson Glad to know! I'm visiting NYC next week and going to film a pizza video there... Joe's and Best Pizza are on my list. I heard about the touristy nature of Joe's, but some also say it's the quintessential NYC pizzeria... Can't miss that

First of all, where in NYC is this guy from? He sounds and looks like he’s from Jersey 😝 get d f outta here bro.
I’m born and raised in inner city queens in the 70’s, I grew up in a pizza shop and I owned a Pizza shop myself in upper Manhattan.
First off, you don’t come to LA for NY pizza. Ridiculous. But hands down Quarter Sheet Pizza is best Sicilian/Grandma in all of LA.
For slices, just make your own at home.
And yes, definitely it’s in the water. LA water is over treated so it makes the water heavy and doesn’t have buoyancy to allow the flavors to pop like NY Water.

Haha my buddy wasn’t born in NY but he lives in Manhattan now. But yeah that’s the point of the video. LA has these “NYC” style pizza shops but they hardly come close to the real deal. What’s the name of your pizza store? I’d love to stop by next time I’m in NYC
