Survival Fishing Challenge!! (Knife Only!) NO rod/lures/etc

- With NO fishing gear and a knife as my only tool, I put myself in a survival scenario in which I attempt to use natural resources and very limited supplies to catch fish to save myself from starvation.

BTW for the fishing line, you can use cortege. You can find it in the stems of certain plants, you peel the 2 inner layers off, and then you have a very tough flexible rope/vine that is perfect for the line.

I subscribed liked and turned on notifications
You brought more stuff than I bring to a fishing trip.
String can be made from any plant when made into fiber and platted.
A spear can be made from a sharpend stick or a stick split into 4 at the end and sharpened.
Hooks can be made from wire , wood, bone or thorns. Using trash makes it easier, a soda can tab can be made into a barbed hook . You don't even need a hook you can just use a double end sharpened twig big enough to get lodged in the fishes mouth.
The rod can be improved by wrapping and tapering. A younger more pliable stick is recommended. A rod is also not needed, a 'hobo reel' can be used or just throw the line by hand.
Traps can be made from twigs and woven together.

Hey firststate, you can use that bag to start a fire, just fill it with water and use it as a magnifying glass, it takes time and patience but it works,
after that take dry rotten wood and to burn it with your waterbag, don't be afraid to move it around a little to make the whole ting warm and be prepared with dry small sticks/birds nest and other small vines.

How you complete the challenge is to go back to the car get a charger charge the phone and then go to the woods then call people
If your car battery dies and there’s nobody around you can’t really charge your phone

The first thing I would do with all your stuff including the knife is stuff it all in the ziplock bag, and throw it in the pond. Then I'd make a knife out of shells or rocks, fishing string from plant fibers a primitive fishing hook from wood and dig for worms for bait.

1. he could've stripped the earbuds for the wire and used that as string, or gotten one of the smaller trees and made really this twine out of the "bark" 2. he should've gotten a smaller trees branch for the rod 3. For the hook he could've wrapped the paperclip arounds itself and grinded down one side to make it sharp

you would want A live stick for flexability
Interesting video. Just a few constructive criticisms though. Instead of that big dead stick use a young live sapling, for line if your using what you had in the video you should have used your knife to cut the lanyard into 3 equal pieces lengthwise and spliced them together at the ends. Also with the headphones you should have taken the outer sheath off and spliced together for more length and then attached to the lanyard. This would give you lots of length and a thin wire line at the end for better odds. The paper clip was good but I would make the hook a bit shorter on the sharp end. Also you would have better luck carving a simple gorge hook with your knife. Alot of laws wont allow you to actually use a gorge hook though but fun to make and show. But like I said cool video I would like to watch another one like this.

That's because it's barely wooded at all. I live 5 mins away from where he was "surviving". There's roads all around him. Unfortunately Delaware isn't wat it used to be 20yrs ago. When I was growing up(I'm 27) u could legitimately get lost in the woods. Now if u just walk in one direction for a bit you'll pop out at a Wawa lol.

If you cut open the earphones you can use the wire for fishing. The zip bag can be used to start a fire, by filling it with water, the method is just like the magnifying glass,it is really hard but it can work. For a hook you could use the paper clip. You can use the water bottle as a fishing trap, by cutting it at about 1/3 and flipping the cap inside the bottle, inserting human feces on it it will attract fishes into it, the will have a wide entrance but it will be harder to get out has its just the cap to get out.

How about stripping the bark off of some long tree branches, then weaving them tightly together as string. Small, sharp pieces of rock can be used as a hook. Find some grubs under a rock or downed tree and you've got bait. I saw someone else do it and they actually caught fish.

Use the thin speaker wire in the ear buds as fishing line. Of course use a stack as a rod and shape the paper clip into a hook and sharpen the tip of the paper clip. Either by whittling it with a knife or grinding it on a rock.
