- I know there's like, 7 billion people on this earth, but I still find it hard to believe that anyone would dislike such an adorable voice.

I honestly could not picture Korone with any other voice than she has now. It's so unique and almost musical in some ways, and I love just sitting in her streams and listening to her talk.

Who cares if they regret it or not? You have to answer to your own pride and the people you choose to respect or love. Beyond that, it doesn’t matter what other people think of you. You can’t please everyone anyway, and trying to will kill you. So as long as she’s made peace with it, no one else matters.

Yeah, there are other Hololive girls that have spoken about being bullied for their voices when they’re younger. Makes me think that Yagoo went out of his way to recruit talent with unique natural voices. Definitely gave a chance for these girls to be able to feel more confident and accepting of who they are
I love how whenever she says something even slightly unpleasant her chat just blows up to comfort and encourage her. Same goes for the other girls, and it makes me proud to be part of this community
I'm similar. I disliked my own voice for a long time, even though I make my living now off selling it. People used to always tell me when I was younger that I sound like MirandaSings or Gay Owen Wilson for some reason. Or call me a squeaker lol

But seriously, that's actually really sad. I'm glad she's happy with it now, and us letting her know how cute it is helped her be happy in her own skin helps me realise that our feedback actually helps the girls.

So many of these girls have tragic pasts/communication difficulties that it almost seems like a requirement to get into Hololive at this point. It's mostly just a meme, but good on Yagoo for making a place where they can feel appreciated and be themselves. Definitely best girl.

Bullying in Japanese schools is a depressingly huge issue. It upsets me greatly how this is just the norm for them.
I think it includes a kind of stereotype about Japan. You should read the article about the rates of bullying by country. Most of them show it's lower than Australia, UK, etc. Of course, it's still a problem though.
A little bit of bullying is good. It teaches kids how to act “normal” and also how to not be too naive. If you ever meet home-schooled kids once they reach their 20’s and 30’s, it’s really obvious the difference. But the Japanese philosophy of “the high nail gets hammered down” does mean there’s a lot more pressure to stay in line.
@@JK-xf1dw I wish it were a stereotype, many adult figures in Japanese schools will typically underreport bullying since it reflects badly on the schools and due to the low birthrates and stagnant economy many schools have closed down due to a lack of new children.
A bad reputation will cause children to be pulled from the school so they try to avoid reporting it. Combine this with Japan's culture of accepting the status quo and you've got it's current situation.
I'm not saying bullying doesn't happen elsewhere or that it's somehow worse in Japan, but the schools there do handle it worse than other countries.

And if it is something they can control, how's bullying gonna help? Somebody going, "Hey, here's a better way to do that" or, "I never thought about doing it that way!" is a lot healthier of an influence.
The difference between someone that was homeschooled and someone who went to any other school is the amount of interaction with unique people, not how often they're bullied.

As someone that got bullied because of my voice from kindergarten to high school, it really means a lot to me hearing Korone say that
Im saying this not because Im her fan but tbh for me her voice is literally one of the best Ive ever heard in my life.
She has such a nice voice. I don’t understand Japanese and usually only watch full streams of EN girls but I watch Korone stream anyway. She has a nice intonation when ending sentences. The pitch ducks a bit and then rises in such a nice way.

Literally whenever i'm feeling down or having a bad day I'll put on her videos. Her voice is just so positive I could listen to her for hours. It's impossible to stay in a bad mood while watching her!

What brought me down the hololive rabbit hole was korone and her voice. Even though I’m not a japanese speaker, I was always able to her the difference in her accent and speech which drew a lot of attention and I’ve loved it since.
I wish I had the amount of self-love Korone has. I'm glad she doesn't let things like that get to her anymore, it must suck to be bullied for something that's out of your control like your voice

It's sad that both Korone and Okayu didn't like their voices in the past, which makes it all the more amazing that they still pursue a career in entertainment where they have to rely on their voices more than ever, and they turned what was once their weakness into their greatest strength!

See, in any normal situation, that could be construed as sarcastic, or dismissive and insensitive. But the way Korone says it, in that tone, you _know_ its from a good place. Even the little chuckle she gave out afterwards wasn't to mock or to make light of it, it felt like the kind of laugh that said "if only it were so easy, right?", and that feeling is genuine; from someone who understands.
It goes without saying that we all love Korone for her qualities and her charms, but we can't forget about ourselves. What makes you special is the whole package, your strengths, your weaknesses, everything about you is something to cherish and celebrate. Don't let anyone bring you down because they don't agree with something about you that you've decided is okay.
You're all great in some way, keep your heads up and don't let the meanies get to you. We're all part of the same weird and wonderful world, it only makes sense that we're all weird and wonderful in our own ways.

When i was a kid i also was bullied about my voice, because it had a "strange pitch" so people mocked that, but what it always happend was that i kinda became "berserk" for a moment and just beat the living crap of anybody that mocked my voice, until one day they learned not to mock my voice anymore.

Korone's past insecurities are a direct result of Japan's bullying. It's seen as fine since bullying victims are seen as people who deserve it due to being "abnormal" in some way and in need of correction so they fit in better. Something I struggle with believing considering how you could be totally normal and still get bullied because the bully(s)'s just an asshole that decides to pick on you along with getting their cronies to do the same. I mean, shit, bullying happens in the workplace too, you just hardly hear about it any where since they're adults and expected to do fix it yourself even if you literally have jack shit for options and you're relying on the job to pay bills and other expenses.

As much as it's sad to hear so many of the girls went thru things like this, it's kinda funny to think that some of the dudes who used to tease them are probably bigtime simps for them now and might not even know it.
Most places in society are all about fitting in, especially kids. Doesn't make it right that she was bullied for her voice, but I can't say I'm surprised.
But entertainment is different - you've got to be unique. Having a "weird" voice can be a selling point. And I'm glad that's the path she took.
