I'd be interested to know what parts of the car are original. It seems like he replaced the frame, the body, the engine, the interior. If so, did he even really need to start with a flooded P1, or couldn't he have just built it from scratch?
He's taken a P1 and applied the Koenigsegg philosophy to it.... more power, more light. (Colin Chapman I know). A P1 weighing 1100KG with 1300 horse power, geesus christ. 1100 horse power per ton -____- vs 650 of the standard car which already span up it's wheels in 4th gear. To quote Clarkson it's going to be "and handfull.
No one said anything about easy. And Freddy's record breaking P1 with a built 1500 hp engine would never be accepted by governments as a legal production car. Plus even McLaren have to think about reliability. So that's why companies can't do that. That's why the aftermarket/tuner scene always pushes more power etc
Because! McLaren is selling a car and has to honor warranties and also make sure they don't get sued back for idiots trying to break land speed record! On the road... Tavarish on the other hand doesn't have any of that holding him other than money and he's getting the sponsorship as you saw.
