Union Pacific's Big Boy steam locomotive to be on display in Roseville

- Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will be on display in Roseville on Friday and Saturday as part of its 2024 Westward Bound Tour.

I was there Saturday. Forget baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet...it's now baseball, apple pie, and Big Boy. This is America at its finest! A truly magnificent machine! Don't miss it!
It was a pleasure being apart of history as well. Big Boy is truly magnificent machine to have seen.
We were there on Saturday and went out to see it pull up on Sunday morning....it was truly an amazing experience. We even got wet from the steam as it passed us by.

It be nice to ride on a train being pulled by that locmotive. It be cool for all the modern steam engines to even resemble Big Boy.
Does it come to Las Vegas Nevada by chance please? My dad and I were train fanatics. However I lost my dad in 2007 so it brings back those memories of him and I playing with his Inscale train board that he built himself. I would love to share it with my grand kid's one day.

WHERE IS THE STEAM ?
That really only happens when they open the throttle up, namely going uphill. In this case it’s mostly downhill into Roseville, so it’s probably coasting for much of it. Heading back east on Sunday it’ll be going up Donner Pass, so there’ll likely be some steam then.
Most likely in the Roseville yard they let the diesel locomotive do the work, cuts down the noise and pollution where alot of people are gathered for the big party they had for the UP Employees.
California won't let them put on a smoke show.
