To have such a voice at the age of 13, I think, at that time she was singing this is something to behold. Oprah was wowed when she sang several times in her show. Celine Dion made a duet with her and so did Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban, and other well-known singers as well. The one accompanying her at the piano was David Foster who composed the Prayer along with other songs which she knew coincidentally. Charice became known for Whitney Huoston covers in the US.
You can see her development as a singer in TH-cam starting at a young age participating in Phil. competitions to bring food to the table all the way to her US stints. She was able to come out with an international album but wasn't marketed aggresively. Her voice quality,along with other artists like the Filipino artists you reacted to, is what it really needed in the autotuned-dominated music world to show the world what a human voice can still create and achieve when they are nurtured and not just rely on technology to make voices sound better. She could have been more famous now had she pursued her career but I guess her path was not in the direction of stardom.
