I agree with everything you said, and would add that if one does not want to wait for 35 yrs to judge which is better, many C&R firearms have seemingly doubled (or more) in price in the last 12-18 months, especially when supplies from importers "dry up". Look at the Finn Mosins, the nicer Type 99 Arisakas, EG Makarov pistols, etc. Seems like they've shot up alot in the last year. Even some civilian firearms, such as Remington 760 Gamemaster pump rifles (in calibers other than 30-06) are climbing rapidly. Lastly, you can take your "investment" out to the range or to the field and get immense pleasure whereas a bar of silver... not so much. Good topic, once again!
For me, it’s firearms including milsurps of course. Some of those milsurps you just can’t get anymore, silver will more than likely always be around in some form. Love your channel!
I have both in my safe. I have quality Mosins..Mausers..1911's..the shoot great and are fun..however..they don't seem to be appreciating at the rate I thought they would.
I'm too old to make any money on either of these now as I'm 56 and my milsurp collection is too small to be worth liquidating and I have no Silver. So when I start buying it it'll be higher than it has been for most of the last few decades and if I keep it long enough to worth liquidating I'll likely be one foot in the grave by then. Oh well. I'll just pick up a few coins for fun here and there.
Dude, I'm older than you and I just started stacking silver and gold in January. Over the past 6 months, my silver is up around 29% and gold is up 18%. There are plenty of people who will discourage you; don't be one of them! When was the best time to buy milsurps and precious metals? 1946. When is the second best time? Today! Set a goal that you cannot possibly fail at, like buying 1 silver dime a week, then stick with it. When you set goals you cannot fail to meet, your subconscious brain will be working on how to up your game. You can do it!
@@bhoward9378 I am doing it. I now have 10 1oz Silver Krugerrands and plan to have 100 by years end. I'll probably switch to other countries products like, Maples, Eagles, Philharmoics etc and try to acquire 100 of each. Hope to be able to throw some Gold in there as well.
But you can sell or trade silver anywhere in the world, and with ounces of gold , you can carry 20K worth in your shirt pocket , and hardly notice the weight , guns are heavy !
@@englishrupe01 most people only have 1 gun per use , deer rifle , shot gun for bird & rabbit hunting , big magnum rifle if you hunt out west for long range shots over 1000 yards , but an AR , or similar gun is for hunting people , and pistols are fun for target practice , ever held a .50 desert Eagle , you need huge hands ,

I have a safe with both, no regrets.

@@petercollingwood522 Outstanding! Keep up the good work.
Silver just sits there in your safe , the Milsurp rifle you can take out and shoot . Seems like an easy choice.

Darn sight more useful, though ;-)
