Reason being he was made captain when Indian Cricket was in deep problems, that was the era of Match Fixing. On the other hand MS Dhoni and Virat both got a well settled Teams. Hats off to Sourav Ganguly for his contributions and yeah he is still playing a very special role. We must also acknowledge the contributions of Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya as BCCI President. Indian cricket team changed under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly and that same team won WC in 2011 with very few new players that MS Dhoni brings under his captaincy!!
