The thought that many have been destroyed by wisdom, and to have Satan as an example, who corrupted his wisdom by reason of his brightness (chapter 28, verse 17), really struck me. He had that wisdom, but wasn't thankful for it, nor fearful before God, so the splendor and success of it became an idol. Thank the Lord for delivering us, for causing us to know that all wisdom belongs to Him, and that He is the light and brightness of the world, and for smiting the scorner, the devil, so that we simple might beware.
