No he was fired. They say Bryan Danielson was the final decision, and he voted to fire Punk. I guess as part of his deal, Danielson was given a job on their advisory board. Excusing workplace violence because it’s a “testosterone fueled sport” (10:01 in video) and the wrestler brings in money? I was in Afghanistan in 2019 when an ex-Army Ranger was sent home for flashing his knife on base as his way of saying Hi. What is worse: flashing a knife or choking out a coworker who never fought back? What is worse: Excusing behavior because the wrestler makes money or because an experienced army Ranger could mean the difference between life or death in a combat zone? Excusing bad behavior because when you’re big, rules don’t apply to you … isn’t that way of thinking also the cause of Vince’s current issues? And isn’t that what Punk once spoke out against? The video offered many examples of altercations; it would be interesting if it addressed Alberto Del Rio’s altercation and firing from WWE.
I thought I saw an interview with Jack Perry last week who said he crossed the line with Punk in the promo before the backstage stuff and he had no hard feelings
I hope that's true. I'd respect him for that. He's still basically a kid so maybe he has been something of a scapegoat. I still think Punk was in the right to humble his ass though.
And their ratings dropped back down to the 700,000 range. So they just confirmed that they once again needed CM punk, who gave them their highest consistent ratings when he was on dynamite, to give them a ratings boost. All because tony is a lousy booker and dont know how to properly utilize the talent with compelling stories long term. Look how many wrestlers he dropped the ball with there.
Don't get the point of showing that knowing that people have moved on since then. Okay, it shows that Punk is the one who fucked up but I don't think it really matters to most people. That's a good thing to show people the truth but still, that was unnecessary.
Booker you had that line about working with Wade Barrett during the Lola Vice match on last week's episode of NXT. That made me laugh for at least 10 minutes straight. Your broadcast partner was asking you a bunch of dumb questions, and instead of answering you said 'I got the chance to work with Wade Barrett once, I miss him'. Hilarious!
I'm more interested in seeing the footage of the first fight between Punk and The Young Bucks. This one wasn't a big deal at all and hardly anything happened
That footage should’ve dropped as soon as available if wanted to release it. To drop it after the Punk interview, to simply double confirm what he said 🤣🤣🤣
Where TK failed was that he didn't take care of Perry wanting to do a spot multiple people told him he can't do, even their doctor. It shouldn't of been up to CM Punk to take care of the situation. TK could of pulled Perry aside at any time and said "multiple people have told you no, and I'm telling you no. I will not allow production to film any spot regarding you and a car window." That's it, that's all he needed to do. But it sounds like he is more concerned with being a friend rather than being a boss and that doesn't work in this situation, it also means some of his wrestlers have zero respect for his authority. And regards to the rental car, why would you want to damage property that isn't yours. There have been wrestlers famously banned from not renting a car again from a rental car agency because of what they did to the car. Which that could of happened in this situation. If you return a car with a busted window, especially without a legit reason or a police report they could very easily put you on the no rental list. I used to work for Hertz
As far as I can remember, wasn’t CMP Punk first time getting physical so he was a problem he had to go. But overall, Tony is not a real boss as punk said he does not know when to put his foot down

Second: Punk said he didn't throw a punch but he did it was just sloppy cause he can't fight . Third: Punk said he simply turned to Tony and told him he quit . He never once said he went at Tony in a aggressive manor to the point he had to be held back and pulled away. Yall don't like to call shit for what it really is and it's embarrassing .
Why feel sorry for TK - whem an employee is telling of things going on and you dont do about it them you get what you get........ the problem is the Bucks and friends think TK works for them
L take from Brad. I'm over the shills shaming a company for taking shots. Especially since shots were fired from the other side without any condemnation.
Jack Perry did start it by what he did on the preshow of the ppv in London. CM Punk should've never been in the position to say anything to Jack Perry about his performance or plans on Match he was planning to do. that's TKs job and responsibility ONLY. Tell me I'm wrong when a boss has final say on product being done no matter the industry
One of the sad parts is punk tried to get together with them to work things out and make some money together. They said no Tony said well can't do it if they said no. What? You're their boss. Imagine Jim Ross saying oh well they said no when he was in charge of talent relations.
Hey Brad, why if AEW says something about someone in WWE is lame? someone decided to take a shot in a resentful way in public (HHH) and is considered OK and funny, but if that guy answers publicly in a promo to that offense (Ospreay) is considered unnecessary or lame?, Nah, dude, you said something you face the consequences... Don't they have their own stuff as well?? Then don't talk about the others disrespectfully. AEW has been living in HHH head rent free since 2020
I mean you take the diehards from both companies that care for it. I thought this was obvious but the reason that people dont like on the aew side cuz thats what theyre known for 🤷♂️
One thing to keep in mind. When punk “lunged” at Tony, he told him he quit. I think firing him was simply to get back at him or Tony’s way of having the last word
Here is the way to look at. Perry wanted to do a spot, Punk didn't want him doing the spot but his boss Tony Khan was open minded like he is with most of what his talent want to do so he just let whatever happen. At some point Punk got the impression that he had some say in how the company was run and what other wrestlers do - even in angles and spots that do not involve him. This is clearly Tony Khan mis-selling what Punk's position was in the company and was only made worse by giving him his own show. I think the whole thing was mismanaged and I 100% believe everything that Punk said about his time in AEW.
Tony Schiavone specifically went to CM Punk and told him that Jack Perry was being disrespectful to him and the other management for not wanting him to do a spot. Punk asked if he was sure if he wanted him to be involved. Schiavone assured Punk that he wanted him to talk to Jack Perry to not do the spot. Therefore, Punk got involved. It's not like Punk just woke up and thought he was the boss. This was a situation he was specifically asked to be involved in.
Here is my thing, and kinda a question to those in pro wrestling. Many i hear say Cm Punk start this ot that. My question is this, why wasn't everything just avoided with the use of sugar glass instead of real glass to give Perry the ammo to instigate in the first place. How really is it Cm Punks fault if another would be safe when someone else at the work place asking for such safety and instrad of just going, ya know... Your right, accidents can happen and this can be done safer to lower that. Real glass wasnt actually needed and Sugar glass has been used many times to have an effect and shatters but the edges most times are blunt or less sharp, so why let Perry start something others knew another had an issue with it, let alone someone even slightly like Cm Punk is portraid and one who gave the pipe bomb. I mean, kinda says he aint having an issue call you out for cheap internet thing that could have been safer. So, any idea why they didnt just use sugar glass and avoid the whole "Real glass, cry me a river." Instigation that started everything. Cm Punk should have kept his cool yes, but Perry should never of put things in the postion he did. Not say change the story or anything, but why do they have an issue over something being... Well safer?
It was a fireable offense because that was Punks 2nd physical fight in 2 years. They suspended him for the first one at ALL OUT. He fought again so get got fired. Period.
Wrestlers getting into small skirmishes backstage is not a fireable offense. It's professional wrestling. It's not like working at Chase Bank. In wrestling, guys get into backstage altercations. And this surely wasn't an altercation worth a firing. I'm sure the first altercation at Brawl-In was overblown as well. This is nothing that couldn't be settled. The problem is TK has no leadership
I don't blame Tony Khan for what's happened with CM Punk.Look,Punk did all that himself even though,Punk was just defending himself and his position. It just didn't work out. They gave a try,it didn't work.Tony isn't just a promoter but a fan who happens to be a promoter.Things went south when egos were involved,it happens in professional wrestling in multiple occasions and it always will. Now,how it happened could have been prevented but it the same time, you have to want it to be.It's just like any career. This is nothing new,we heard worse things happen but sometimes you have to look at yourself and say is it worth it? Tony has a right to show it to straighten out the company's reputation. But,now,he's gotta move on from the damage that was made.
jack perry was the one who started it jack perrys body language clearly said u got a problem do something about it which is what punk said happened. u can read jack perrys body language there is a damn good reason there not showing audio for that video.

Was punk the star of the section on rampage ,no Was punk mentioned, no. Was it intended to have embarrassed punk ,no. Did Punk take responsibility for what he did,no. Punk got off Scott free and a pass back into WWE. Perry should not have been treated this way. Jack Perry is an up and coming Star which Punk has damaged. If Roman had done this to Austin Theory ,would he be held responsible. 😅😢😂
I will not shit on AEW, cause at the end of the day, they have one hell of a roster...but AEW is focused on wrestling and not so much the storylines...If HHH had control of that roster also, he'd have that show drawing numbers
Punk didn't admit to pushing anyone. He said "I didn't touch anybody, I did a little choke" so don't say he was telling the truth. Punk also approached Perry, he could have just let it go and exited for his match, but didn't.
Why are you really pulling at the weeds here. Who cares if Punk said if he pushed him or not. Ultimately, he grabbed him to choke him. It may have come off as a push but it was intended for a choke, which we all saw. You are really grasping at straws here. Perry wanted to be passive aggressive and thought he could run the asylum without consequence. He intentionally did that to mock Punk knowing Punk was watching the monitor. He brought it on himself.
@@kob456 My point was that He isn't as honest as people think. Don't judge AEW for not dropping unless people are going to say the same thing about Punk. His interview came first.

Booker T is being so political and playing both sides. Man call a spade a spade. Jack Perry isn’t a damn scapegoat. He ran his mouth and was told not to do something and did it anyway, also while live took a shot a him and said real glass cry me a river. CM Punk confronted him he talked tough and got his ass humbled. Booker T knows being in the business and having a scrap with Batista himself knows how this works. At the end of the Day Tony Kahn isn’t built to be a boss, he’s a fan/mark of wrestling with a lot of money. Stop trying to make Punk the problem. The drive thru/experience is probably the most accurate take on what’s happening without the politics
For me AEW had a legit chance, maybe to not beat WWE but they had a chance to be something really good, however it went south very very fast. They dropped the ball, and need a change in a bad way
As much AEW is a joke, Punk just comes off unprofessional constantly if he's angry. The media scrum thing shows that. He was pissed about Page "going into business for himself" during a promo, then says things (even if true) that should have never been said in public. Everyone that's happy he is back in WWE, just wait until something backstage doesn't go his way.
@dvsmike and yet, instead of just going out and having his match with Joe on the biggest event in the company, he first choose to go out of his way to confront a mid carded and assault him. Grow up in the real world, that's assault. You don't attack a co-worker because they don't listen to your advice or don't respect you. He could have just had the match, and when he got to the States, contacted his lawyer to get out of his contract.
@garyshaver1945 This ain't your typical corporate job where assault is not the way to handle things. Even Omega made reference to it. Sometimes you gotta fight. I have seen it as a wrestler myself. The competitive nature of the business brings it out of you. You have to fight sometimes. When a petulant child like Perry is talking to you the way he did, thinking that his boss is right there and he will be protected by the evps, that challenge "why don't you do something about it" is fighting words. It wasn't even a legit fight either, it was scuffle, a skirmish, a little push around. Don't give me this corporate human resources bs of assault, Perry should have kept his mouth shut and not said shit. That's a public call out, yeah man, I'm coming at you to find out wtf. Punk is professional until he doesn't have to be. He is the only trying to do business, every one else is still in high school trying to play wrestler.
Wrestling community and TH-camrs: This was a bad idea blah, blah, blah. Me: You ain't talking about day after Wrestlemania. Most you folks have been focused on this. Idk whose idea it was for those subtitles, but that is great. Keep them up
The subtitles were wrong often though lol you still just have to listen to spoken words and pay attention to the context. The subtitles overall do help though
Backstage footage has been absolutely ruined by AEW.
It made Perry look like a geek and it made the "feared for my life" thing Tony whined about totally empty. It also showed that Punk was still their only draw with the slight ratings bump.
Exactly they are too worried about making WWE/Punk look bad they are BARELY promoting their next PPV
CRAZINESS
The footage was spun to promote the tag match between TYB and FTR. It was probably the weakest excuse possible made for this crap.
Love ya Book' ! My childhood's very first wrestler idol ! And thank you so much for the subtitles, it's such a simple idea, but there are so few channels that use them.
Brad: "Do you think he should have been fired?"
Booker: "let me tell you about these wiener pills!"
Where's Ron Simmons and his "DAMN!" when you need them?
Love your commentary for trick you the real og moment maker always
The bluechew ad 😂 booker u crack me up 😂😂😂
Punk quit, he wasnt fired. He said it to him at the end of that video before he walked away. Punk describes what happened.
No he was fired. They say Bryan Danielson was the final decision, and he voted to fire Punk. I guess as part of his deal, Danielson was given a job on their advisory board. Him and 2 others get to make decisions for the company. Supposedly the other two voted and was one to fire and one to not fire, and Danielson broke the tie and said Punk should be fired. On that sports show Maggie & Perloff Danielson said he is part of the board, but would not talk about any decisions they have made or how they decided to fire Punk.
@@chrisgullett4332 punk himself said he quit. The board may have been a logistical thing but punk himself stated he quit.
@@ASpiritualAwakener You can't be fired if you quit and aren't coming back to work.
@@ASpiritualAwakener Sure in the moment he did say that. But then he calmed down and went on to do his match with Joe.

Booker is on point. Punk quit after that altercation. Tony wanted to save face and so said he fired CM Punk. He just didn't have the courage to take the fan backlash and so used the discipline committee as an excuse.
As the old saying goes, "Don't start nothing. Won't be nothing."
What gets me is, if they did things right and could get everyone to coexist, they could've done business and made money. But, that would take competent leadership to make it happen.
Hope brads doing better. Looks real sick here.
Thanks! Yeah I’m going through it. But I’m getting there.
@GilmoreMedia2023 get better, dude. Hoping it's not too serious
Compared to reports of booker t vs batista, this is so tame.
Tony Khan was looking for a reason to get out of Punk's contract and then this happened and Tony pulled the "I was scared for my life" thing.
Tony didn't just get a bump he got a whole line
Lol
For all these negative comments…. If you truly love wrestling 🤔 then you enjoy all wrestling across all platforms! I love WWE AEW TNA NJPW MLW …….
Where was the lunge. I saw no lunge
And their ratings dropped back down to the 700,000 range. So they just confirmed that they once again needed CM punk, who gave them their highest consistent ratings
when he was on
dynamite, to give them a ratings boost. All because tony is a lousy booker and dont know how to properly utilize the talent with compelling stories long term. Look how many wrestlers he dropped the ball with there.
Booker: chew it and do it!
Me: tell me, he didn’t just say that (booker voice) 😂😂
Tony khan needs to fire the young bucks. They have no skill as VPs. Hell they cant even get themselves over to grow their audience
Does anyone else think the All In bullshit has hurt Swerve's heat?
I think it's been the booking tbh
Just imagine if they fired everyone for fighting how many stars we WOULDN'T have...
It got a million viewers because the basketball game
Don't get the point of showing that knowing that people have moved on since then. Okay, it shows that Punk is the one who fucked up but I don't think it really matters to most people. That's a good thing to show people the truth but still, that was unnecessary.
I'll tell you what I'd like to see, is the footage of the Booker T/Batista locker room fight from years ago.
Jack Perry totally started it. (Real glass cry me a river) was basically saying (Fuck you Phil Brooks, I do what I want) on ppv
Hey hey hey! We got to take a break! My favorite Booker quote on this podcast.
But overall, Tony is not a real boss as punk said he does not know when to put his foot down
He’s not necessarily a problem, just don’t f with him it’s simple
@@btdaniels9028 he has issues I don’t care how you try to spin it

@@btdaniels9028 I agree many of us including myself have issues. He’s also a narcissistic egocentric individual in my very strong, humble opinion.
@@rehdogg Lmaoo that’s the wrestling business, egos EVERYWHERE and he has every right to be that way. Stone Cold, HHH, Cena, Rock etc are that very same way
The footage did exactly what it was supposed to do. It brought heat to the bucks for showing it and it allowed Jack Perry to soak it all in as well right before he stepped foot into Chicago a few days later. On top of that Chicago cheered for Jack Perry , they sang Oh Cry Me a River and Thank You Jack. They cheered and basically requested that he hit the GTS which he attempted . This was also after he dropped the Chicago flag on the floor. That alone says enough .
Another thing stop the bullshit. The footage didn't go how Punk said. One: Punk said Jack got in HIS space so like Chael he had to do what he to do . That was a lie . Jack didnt even move from his position until Punk pushed him.
Why feel sorry for TK - whem an employee is telling of things going on and you dont do about it them you get what you get........ the problem is the Bucks and friends think TK works for them
No punches thrown. ⚡🚨⚡
Tony’s big shocking announcement was once again a BUST!
Yet he still wrestled Joe after "quitting".
And Punk is still Aew champion
TK deciding to release that video over everyone’s opinion is probably the only Time he’s tried to seem like a boss yet failed epically 😂
Yeah Booker T busted some ass irl backstage back in the day
This is a paper cut compared to King Booker 😂
Come on Booker, nobody thought Jungle Boy was the aggressor in any way. Unless you're a no name doctor or an elderly Tony Schiavonie.
Ha.
Earring or not, he old.
Ha.
Period.
He quit genius
@@chrischar9428 you can't quit while under contract, genius. This is professional wrestling, not Burger King.
AEW is a mess but these dudes sneak dissing is just as corny and you hoz deleted my comment…so fk yall
So was this the actual scene where Tony felt fearful for his life? Or is that other footage? If it rely totally on this footage then holy crap if that makes your fear for your life Tony doesn’t know reality.

I will not shit on AEW, cause at the end of the day, they have one hell of a roster...but AEW is focused on wrestling and not so much the storylines...If HHH had control of that roster also, he'd have that show drawing numbers
I loved Booker T before the internet
What do you mean?
@@jasonelliott7977 I think Moondog is upset that Booker T is not sucking up to AEW and making excuses for their ill-advised decisions.
@@OldVet67 Punk was very honest. The end result was him choking out Perry. He told a condensed version of the story, but you somehow think just because Punk didn't give you a second by second nook and cranny detail of the story, he is somehow not being honest. Tony Khan is putting this nonsense on TV. If he wanted to release the footage, he could've gave it to TMZ. Again, stop apologizing for AEW's ill decisions.
Too bad we can’t fantasy book Little Jack Perry trying that with Andre.

Booker's blue chew commercial is more entertaining than dynamite.
I geuss Tony Kahn didn’t study the history of wcw going out of business and now they are following in the footsteps of wcw
I was waiting for Booker's definitive take on this!
For me AEW had a legit chance, maybe to not beat WWE but they had a chance to be something really good, however it went south very very fast. They dropped the ball, and need a change in a bad way
Now that CM PUNK is with WWE y'all being nice to him but before he came back y'all was trashing him.
Facts Booker T was talking like he wanted to whip Punk ass every topic about him 😂😂😂😂😂
AEW reminds me of a bonafide WCW 2000, just can’t get into!!
Just like Tony Snowman, this guy doesn't really know what "lunged" means.
Ps brad you the got the reason why he wasn't fired
As much AEW is a joke, Punk just comes off unprofessional constantly if he's angry. The media scrum thing shows that. He was pissed about Page "going into business for himself" during a promo, then says things (even if true) that should have never been said in public. Everyone that's happy he is back in WWE, just wait until something backstage doesn't go his way.
You'd be angry too if your boss didn't do shit about the drama that you had nothing to do with.
Yeah the evps were completely innocent 😂😂
@dvsmike and yet, instead of just going out and having his match with Joe on the biggest event in the company, he first choose to go out of his way to confront a mid carded and assault him. Grow up in the real world, that's assault. You don't attack a co-worker because they don't listen to your advice or don't respect you. He could have just had the match, and when he got to the States, contacted his lawyer to get out of his contract.
@WrestlingIsReal649 never said they was
@garyshaver1945 This ain't your typical corporate job where assault is not the way to handle things.
The footage only made them look foolish & petty. Tony Klown is a buffoon. 😂😂😂
