    What an absolute disgrace! The police officer pulling his balaclava off like that, and then little nasty, spiteful 293 shouting and getting SO stressed for no reason. It;s another example of poor vetting and even worse training for police. Box ticking to fill vacant positions, with unbalance individuals. It's worrying to see. Well done for cathching this bunch of tyrants Reggie.

      What if you "looked" suspicious" to a police officer?... would you be happy to be cuffed and searched absent any reasonable suspicion? The laws are there for a reason... or at least they are supposed to be.

      It depends on where they are swearing and who the swearing is directed at.
      There was no one in that street to be alarmed and distressed by random swearing at about the police. Courts have found that the police can not be offended by swearing.
      It would be different if they were swearing outside a school or they were following an individual down the street swearing at them.

    • @TheSadButMadLad
      @TheSadButMadLad 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Public order offences are not about swearing. No matter what the police say. The police are always wrong. About everything. The public order has to be threatening, insulting, alarming, harassing, etc. That can be done without swearing and without shouting. Similarly you can be assertive and not aggressive with swear words and not commit a public order offence.

    I'm 64 now, but I still look back in fondness at the days when I was 10 / 11 and we (me and a few friends) used to explore an old abandoned leather tanning mill. Great fun, even found an underground WW2 air raid shelter in the mill and had a great time exploring the place. My old man (passed 2001) told me about the times in the early 1930's he and his pals (and brother) used to explore the underground tunnels at Alexandra Palace in Nth London and the fun they had. Kids are kids and too many restrictions these days, ie, primary school kids wearing Hi-Vis vests, can't throw snowballs, can't play 'conkers' etc. Must add, we never smashed the place up. The mill in question is long gone (about 1979) as is the dismantled railway leading into the mill and today a housing estate exists on the original site.

It was demeaning throughout and the more I expressed my dismay, the more the officers took this as confirmation of guilt. In fact, they even told me that “everyone tells us they have done nothing wrong”!
    I was chaperoning my autistic son filming cars passing our house. They were responding to reports that people matching our descriptions were stealing from gardens. They even asked me if I had been outside house number 198, this has been my home for 24 years, so my answer of yes confirmed our guilt still further!!!

    They attempted to obtain details the law did not entitle them to by threatening to hold the copy of the search to ransom in exchange.
    They did this because they thought nobody knew better and they could get away with it.

      Women have different skill sets to men in policing, but I fail to see what Gollum brought in this scenario. She was a troll, escalating and emotionally unstable. She was not able to control herself, or knew the relevant laws for what was going on. WORST officer I have seen in many of these types of videos. What a waste of money her salary is…terrible.

That cop immediately walks at him with her hand in the air shouting "stand back stand back" she heard what he was asking his mate and knew what he was doing it for but they do this to antagonise you and escalate the problem further they want any excuse to arrest you. I bet her kecks were drenched after that little rush of power she got. Stupid bint.

    Hoping you're still in touch with these lads. They're entitled to put in a formal complaint on all present, either for unlawful searches (balaclava - really??), or being complicit for not stepping in. Yes, they'll be chucked out when they investigate themselves, but ALL complaints stick, upheld or otherwise, for trend reasons, amongst other things (e.g. can officer be trusted to deal with the public, as he has now been in 52 'complainable situations'). You could complain yourself, Reg, espeially the speccy tiddler with the big mouth. Little woman's syndrome. Prolly drives an HGV tractor to work, or a Ferarri.

The officer had no legal right to remove the balaclava irrespective of if the lad had committed an offence - grounds for the search were unlawful (possibly purely vexatious and punitive) - as you were present at the search you can submit a complaint and they have to address it by law.

    Lord Justice Bean found that it is not section 5 to swear at police, he also in another case found that it is our human right of freedom of speech to be offensive. Together I would argue that unless he was swearing directly at a member of the public with threats intimidation or violence it is not a section 5, if his swearing is overheard then it can only cause offence ergo legal. So when swearing do it quietly as you laugh
