    Great initial concept. Hopefully future iterations will have ergonomic additions. Video game controllers would be the obvious inspiration.

    Just curious, why the numbers are what they are? I would expect multiples of four

    I don't make music with it. I use the old one to send midi commands to Ableton via notes. The track that listens to it then does whatever i told it to do when it hears that note. So I can trigger pretty much anything- lights, videos, jumping song sections, stop start and .. .in hands free looping situations I have to have a not for each loop track to 'auto-arm' . That part is stupid in Albleton (why can't tracks auto-arm). Anyway.. heres the question... I wonder if Ableton has a CC for stop start instead of sending a note which in turn is mapped to the stop/start buttons. all that. Maybe I should ask Ableton.

      NM2 should work nicely in this type of setup with the ability to preconfigure the buttons to notes, CC, or PC MIDI commands.
      You should be able to use the same method used to map notes to the stop/start but using a CC command instead. Not entirely sure if there's existing MIDI properties for these. Definitely a question for the Ableton Forums! 😅

      @@thisisNOISEinc Thanks! Even if I still ahve to send notes, that's okay. So, I never got into the software with the old NM1. Were the buttons fully assignable as well like the new one? In other words, I assumed octave 1 C1-B1 was set - like Octave 1; C1 was always that and not changeable. IS that correct and that's a big difference with the new one?
      Thanks.

      @@joephillips7612 correct, the original version doesn't have dedicated software, it could only send the default MIDI values. This is one of the big advantages for NM2 🙌

    by fully customizable, will it be possible to assign buttons to change octaves or cc banks for the encoders?

    • @thisisNOISEinc
      @thisisNOISEinc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Out of gate, NM2's customizability for the buttons will be for MIDI specific actions (triggering notes, CC, and PC messages), but we could see more features outside of the typical MIDI message use case being added in future software updates (dependent on demand, of course 🙌).

    So epic, I love the first one!
    But where is the slider for octave change?!±!?

    • @thisisNOISEinc
      @thisisNOISEinc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No octave changing this time around! Did away with it in favour of the double rotary encoder layout 🎛 The fact that each button can be programmed to send whatever MIDI note/CC/PC message the user desires made the most sense for the most amount of people. This was heavily influenced by customer feedback 🙂

      @@thisisNOISEinc So no octave but is there still 'pages' similar to octaves? Like the 18 buttons are programmed how I want, then I flip to page 2 and have 18 more to program as i want? and how many 'pages' for lack of a better word. Thanks. Already bought one.

      @@joephillips7612 there won't be a pages/bank system implemented at time of shipping, but we are looking into adding this as a feature in a future software update (among other ideas)

      @@thisisNOISEinc ok. I was basically meaning 'octaves' as pages. 7 pages of 12 buttons on the old one. New one has 18 buttons. Does one of the knobs go though page/octave? Is it like 7 sets of 18?

    Hello, Can midi CC## be assigned to the noise machine buttons? I wonder if with this and a widi cmd I can control my Boss Loopstation RC-505 mk2. I would like to be able to run play stop or record on the tracks of my loopstation, from a distance. thanks for your products
