The exact Conquest reference you're showing us is really nicer than most other Conquest I've seen yet, a stunner! I'm surprised at the frequency you're putting out excellent quality informative content, you definitely have a new fan... I often blindwatch TH-cam while working but here I can't ...
I couldn't agree more!!! An absolute gem. Thank you for your kind words, it really means a lot to me and is worth much more than any like. I started making videos two years ago and I still totally enjoy it and don't get bored. The best thing is that the watch library in my head is also getting bigger and bigger :) have a nice weekend
I got a 70"s longines monument chrono L4. 661.4 which still with good performance, attracted by its slightly deep three sub dials with silver surrounding, circle date window at 12 o'clock with glass ball underneath acrylic crystal to enlarge the date shown, superloved 😊
All those watches have inflated prices, due to popularity of the brands, there’s a certain snobbery around on TH-cam and eBay that hypes up those watches, when there were cheaper/rearer vintage brands around that were of just as high quality and hard to find.
@@GoldammerVintageWatchesI recently bought a stunning black dialed Bulova Self Wind, got it on Etsy, not see in on eBay before, so might be worth a couple of quid, also obtained an Ernest Borel that was originally in a gold case.
Has anyone ever heard of a swiss made watch called "Wallace" ? Vintage, maybe 1950's with manual winding, great time keeper and has a Fixoflex wrist band. Can not find anything on that make. Any info would be appreciated.
All three are Great pieces anyone should have in his collection , but we are not Rich , this is why you should start small , if i had to chose one , it would be the Polerouter , maybe on my Birthday not now , i already bought a watch a week ago .
Just curious what is affordable to you ? with a bit of luck you can get these watches for around 500 Dollars , the conditions will not be the best even with some patina but it will still work and do it's job , and there are some people including me who like worn watches with a clear sign of use , and some patinas can make a watch even better looking than original NOS pieces .
Some people write the 4 in roman numeral as IV. Others people write the number 4 in roman numerals as IIII. French people use IIII. IIII or IV? This the question.
Maybe the C shape will grow on me, but to me it looks gawdy. Like bean bag chairs and lava lamps. Perhaps I'll grow in my tastes. Maybe thi watch just needs another 30 years to marinate, then make its come back.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. In my opinion a Longines Conquest is far away from inflated prices and snobbery…

@@GoldammerVintageWatchesHowever, still think there’s some amount of snobbery in those high-end watches, and I certainly couldn’t afford them.
those automatics looks like a quartz movement,no sweeping hand, has more like a ticking hand
It looks like ticking because the speed is reduced to 25% for smoother pictures 🤝
As well as the slow motion, the standard beat rate with older watches is 18,000 vph which makes appear even less smooth

These brands are far far from affordable, the title is misleading.
Disagree, you get a lot of quality for an affordable price in the luxury segment 🙏

Thanks man!
Indeed. I wish watch reviewers would just use numbers instead of relativistic terms, and leave the viewers to judge.

The crown on that longines conquest is incorrect.
Please. A video by IWC. They have the best leather straps that money can buy.
Money talks.
We already did a video about IWC and the cal. 89. unfortunately we don’t make videos about modern watches and straps

@@GoldammerVintageWatches WHAT DOES MEAN "Modern Watch"?
Please. Don't explain.
Each people has your own border between modern and classic.
As ROLEX does produce its CYCLOPS LENS? Why this name?
Thank you very much.
