I have a Vizio V series and after playing for 30 minutes the screen starts to fliker and turns off. I have to turn off hdcp and hdmi link also set the 4k video transfer to -2
Some of the community found that doing a firmware update helped with like 100 percent of their issues, have u tried to update the TV? Also make sure whatever console your using is fully up to date. If so is the TV directly plugged into the wall or thru extensions? I have had this happen to me Also but not frequent enough to trouble shoot it, usually I turn the TV off and it's good. But HDCP having to be turned off might be a firmnware issue.
@@2020Tech4U The TV and the console is up to date and I have them plugged with an extension plug. When it happens I can't use any controls of the TV or turning it off the only thing I can do i go to settings and disable HDR and it fixes it for a while but playing with HDR the image quality is bad. I really don't know if this is a TV issue or one of those rare console defects. I never had any problems with the ps4 slim using the same TV
@@johnf.2185 Not being able to use any controls while having the problem seems like a TV problem not PS slim, Have you tried the easy stuff? A different HDMI (18Gbps bandwidth) plugging straight to a outlet? even though I dont think that would change anything, but I would still try that. I had a really weird experience once with a PS and a ROKU TV, kinda the same accept the TV and PS would both abruptly turn off then on again. I'll talk to a buddy of mine with Vizio and see if this is common.
Great unboxing..my son just got his new Xbox and he hooked it up to my new Vizio V series 50 inch TV. We know the TV isn’t the expensive high end BIG BUCKS TV, however after making some adjustments to the TV settings we both agreed that we would score it at 7.5 out of 10. I love my new Vizio TV!
I'm glad to hear that, ya these arent big bucks TV's but with a little tweaking it will work for a while until the others drop in price, besides the games that will benefit from all the PS5 has to offer arent out yet and wont be for a while
You can also put it in vivid mode so you can add black detail along with the game engine. Saved me frustration with COD lol was about to spend another 500 on an m series before figuring out the settings
your absolutely correct, I ws thinking of doing a update on settings for this TV and to emphasis on using a high enough bandwidth HDMI for signal drops. but great TIP
Quick update: Yes Load times on Games were FAST as we all know, But we connected our external drive from our PS4 and it worked immediately! We watched Witcher 4k HDR on Netflix and it looked like a $1k TV. This has Vizio Effective Refresh Rate which is a form of 120 htz great for motion and games but it isnt true 120 htz, TV's kinda fake it past 60 Htz lol But We played PS5 games and PS4 Games and seriously This was worth every penny because between The PS5 and Vizio the cost is like under $1k for both and We are happy where others are giving $1k plus just on a TV.
@@Savage_7_99 I pinned your comment and gave you a shout out for catching the 4:4:4 pixel color not being enabled, thanks for catching that. I hope you dont mind. also I heard SONY is ppushing out like 10 million consoles early 2021 so I hope you get one because its a good buy and worth the wait.I cant wait to get one either because my son has had it since we got it and i barley used it lol
@@2020Tech4U The reason the 12 bit color isnt enabled is because the HDMI ports on the V Series are NOT HDMI 2.1, and therefore, the console cannot send a 4:4:4 RGB signal to the tv. I just got with a tech, and they told me that their "V series HDMI 2.1 ports are capped at 18GBPS", and that their "P series Tvs have HDMI 2.1 ports that run at 48GBPS". I told them that if their "HDMI 2.1" ports are running at 18GBPS, they are in fact HDMI 2.0 ports, not HDMI 2.1 ports, as HDMI 2.0 has an upper limit of 18GBPS, where as HDMI 2.1 has an upper limit of 48GBPS, therefore, you are advertising this tv falsely, and misleading people. Even the console knows its not an HDMI 2.1 TV, ergo, the YUV22 and YUV20 color modes and not the RGB color mode being sent to the TV. I saved the entire chat, and Im currently working a case out with them. Im going to return the V555 H11 and get a TV with true HDMI 2.1 ports.

Ive got a V555 H11 on my PS5, with HDMI 2.1 enabled and the same settings youve gone through. The real question is WHY isnt the PS5 displaying in RGB 4:4:4 color with HDR at 4K resolution at 60 HTZ? Its supposed to, with the bandwidth of HDMI 2.1 enabled; it should only be displaying YUV22 and YUV20 if displaying 4K at a native, 120 HTZ. Ive been trying to get with a tech to figure this out, as there is a sizeable difference in color quality 4:4:4 vs 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 in video games, mostly. It seems that the PS5 is not recognizing the Vizio HDMI port as a 2.1 port, and is treating the port as a 2.0 port that doesnt have the bandwith capable of running a 4K, 60htz HDR signal in RGB 4:4:4.
Oh I know you will, its so immersive and addictive, trust me I just got the divorce papers and I signed over everything but the TV and ps5 lol she’s coming for that too
I got the v series 4K for Christmas and it’s a pretty nice tv. Picture quality for streaming videos and tv Is decent. I have a Samsung qled 4K and theres a big difference. But when it comes to performance on game mode it’s pretty dope. Especially on the ps5 the hdr 10 is insane and the tv puts out 120fps depending on what games support it. Would definitely recommend this tv for anyone who is looking for a good gaming tv/ monitor.
ya exactly, this is not a wow TV those are a lot of money, this a value TV price to performance wow tv.. but i recommend this TV to ppl who are not looking to spend thhousands on the big boys.
For anyone experiencing issues with a crackling/popping sound when going through in-game menus while using this TV and the PS5, I have the solution: you want to go to Settings -> Audio -> and Change the Output to Bitstream (DTS) and it fixes it. I saw this solution on Reddit but figured I would share here too since I had this issue. After I did this, it stopped.
I have not expeienced this but I pinned this if anyone runs into it. Thank you for this, this is what I want from this channel, a community helping each other so thank you again.
So how is the picture, HDR 10 etc on the Vizio V series, I'm getting a PS5 in the next few months but have a Series X. I'm assuming it has the 2.1 HDMI port? etc

Just came across your channel and I'm really enjoying your content. I'm a senior citizen and not tech savvy so would appreciate any advice and help you could give me. I just had my Vizio M Series 50"4K HDR Smart TV,model M506xH9 delivered free for $298,brand new! Its going to be for my bedroom/man cave,I haven't opened it up yet. I have a couple of questions if you could help me with. I'm undecided between X box series X or series S. Based on the TV I just bought, will I be able to benefit paying the higher price of the X or will I be good with the S? I currently have the day 1 base PS 4 and I'm getting X box for the game pass. I'm going to need a sound bar for the above set up,could you recommend me one? My budget for the sound bar is $200 max, Thanks so much for any help you can give me, I am subbing to the channel. Best wishes to you and your family!
I'll do my best to help u we really appreciate the kind words many blessings and wishs to your family as well gentleman. To start there is a Vizio M series sound bar that takes advantage of the Dolby Atmos (AIO & 5.1 & 5.1.2) and starts at $149. heres the link to that, also just for ur peace of mind, i do not get paid by any brand this is all my personal advice. www.vizio.com/en/sound-bar/m-series
for console advice, your TV supports AMD freesync which for gaming is good for locking stable frame rates, but if ur watching the Big Game or enjoying 4k movies via streaming then the X not just because new is better but with new comes compatibility with any future updates or upgrades you end up doing, the X will have better wifi better frame rates visuals higher IPC on the CPU/GPU and will push ur TV to it's max. I will be upgrading to the M series soon as i can afford it financially, I dont have to tell any of my american brothers and sisters how tuff the past year has been on us all financially and mentally, I lost many family members to the pandemic and job issues but this channel we started and being able to talk to great ppl like you raises my spirits so thank you and please be safe friend. also u can e-mail me @ 20tech4u@gmail.com if u need further help :)
the HDMI 2.1 is e-arc not the full bandwidth of 2.1 but for sound, so 4k gaming at 60 Htz. I was still new to youtube when i made this video and i made a second video trying to fix this, its the Vizio/PC test.
Good luck because scalpers are charging stupid prices, from past launches the stock in stores replenishs after the holidays, I've tested The PS% on similiar priced TV's and this 1 has a special processor and Game logic that really helps people like me who cant afford those really stupid priced TV's, wish i could though lol
hello and thank you for the video, yesterday i was crazy about 120hz, yesterday i was play destiny 2 in crucible change to 120 hz but the resolution change 1920x1080, i have 2 question. brightness
I'm not sure if i understand your question, but i think it lowered the resolution to hit 120 Hz. which on these TV's is motion refreswh rate which isnt the same as true 120 Hz but trickery with frame freezing or black frames inbetween frames to trick the eye in seeing 120Hz. If thats not what ur asking I apologize
I think there is a update coming to either the PS5 or Xbox. I forgot which one. My son uses this system more then I do and he says he has issues with 4k and HDR10 sometimes, it will keep flickering the screen until he turns of the screen
Small suggestion to make your picture even better bro. U wanna have full color 4.4.4 enabled under your tv settings under hdmi 2.1 setting. You probably need to make some sort of adjustment on your ps5 so that can turn itself on. You'll get better color for sure 👍
Do you experience any no signal issue with the hdmi while in using the tv with my ps5 the no signal randomly pops up during a game and it’s becoming a real issue. Idk if I have the hdmi cord in the wrong input for the tv as I have it in hdmi 1
I hate how everything is right now you know what I mean? Trying to get stuff we want but cant because scalpers are making things even harder. I'm glad your happy with your TV and when you get your console you'll appreciate it even more. Thank you for checking out the channel and I hope to hear from you again.
this is probably a really stupid question. so the way my setup works now is that i have my ps5 connected to a monitor. i plan on getting this tv and mounting it over the monitor to play games on. if i want to switch between playing on the monitor/tv often will i have to reconfigure the settings of the tv every time or will it automatically save my ps5 setting that i have for it
The TV has a USER profile so the TV will have the settings u save to a profile and I'm pretty sure u will be using a HDMI switch board to change between screens, the PS5 should auto between the 2 but I'm not 100, I pinned ur question and if I'm wrong someone on here might know the answer or a solution if there is one. but I would assume the PS5 would.
@@2020Tech4U That's what i thought, i didn't think you would have to change the profile settings every time. I feel like the TV should remember the PS5 settings. I just got the TV in yesterday but won't be setting it up until the weekend, so I'll give an update next week. I plan to just remove the HDMI cable from the monitor to the TV every time I want to play one one or the other, not sure what an HDMI switch board is sorry. The reason I am doing this is all for one game. When I play Call of Duty (or I guess any competitive game), it is much better on a monitor (less input lag, higher refresh rate), but for story games where I can just kick back and relax I will play on the TV.

the refresh rate on these TV's are not true 120 Hz its faked so it wont say it but it is on....I know that was vague but like I tried to explain and probably failed in a new video i post where i connected my PC to the Vizio TV manufacturers use techniques (fakery) to achieve a 120Hz rating, this is why it says 120 Hz Trumotion and not just 120Hz. I also suggested a video by Techquickie called TV fake refresh rates fast as possible that also links to another video that really explains it best. check it out and you will understand. @@Dan-ef4jz yes they use lil tricks to get 120 hz on the box, Linus did a really great video on how TV's use back lighting and freeze frame to pull off a fake 120 hz to get 120 hz or more the TV will be like 900 or more or get a Monitor. I did a video lightly touching on how TV manufacturers fake 120hz. it is called hooking the Vizio to my PC. Its on my channel
It's a marketing scheme but not....They use double frames and or black frames in between frames to make it seem 120 to the eye but its more for movies not gaming, the low latemcy and game HDR are the bigggest benefit to this TV and thats it until the expensive TV's drop in price that have true 120
I would assume so but we havent tested it out yet, once I get 1 i will but I dont see why not. the game logic is for PS xbox and PC because of the low latency and game HDR.

great question, because TV manufacturers can use the term HDMI 2.1 kinda freely because sound like the e-arc HDMI connection is a form of HDMI 2.1 they can advertise it's HDMI 2.1 complient lol the only difference with this TV that I've found from others saying HDMI 2.1 is the low latency and Game HDR but it does not support higher bandwidth that would be necessary for 8k visuals. So this TV in short has the Game engine that runs low latency which is good for PC/ps5/xbox. also the kinda 120 htz refresh rate. I hope that answered your question. Also from my testing for the price for now its the best price for budget for now. plus the processor is a good processor for the price.

I talked with a Vizio rep. They told me that the V series tvs have 18GBPS HDMI 2.1 ports, and that their other series have the "48GBPS" HDMI 2.1 ports. I told them that if they are 18GBPS HDMI ports, they are 2.0 ports, NOT 2.1 ports. This is why the PS5 only displays YUV22 and YUV20 instead of true, RGB 4:4:4 on this tv. It is false advertisement for Vizio to state that the v series has "future ready" hdmi 2.1 ports, as HDMI 2.1 is a 48GBPS bandwidth.
Yeah for the price this TV does not have 2.1 ports. And it also doesn’t support HDR 10. I have it hooked up to my series X and it says this. It doesn’t support HDR for gaming at all actually just for TV shows. So I think people have been seriously misled by the television. Good video though.
I am sorry I took so long to reply, it's nothing great to tell the truth, I advice for serious gaming get a good monitor and you will enjoy your console alot more
100 percent, I really wish it was no larger than previous PS sizes, but from a thermal perspective and to keep dust build up down i see why, but eventually they will make them smaller as they move along.
No it can only do 60htz natively but with game mode enabled has good latency @ 10.6 ms. I would love it did but at the price it’s not going to be as good as say a $1100 television. Like I tell people this TV it’s like a hold you off until TVs drop in price that have all the gooey stuff we want, we use it everyday and have no complaints, I’m actually playing blood borne right now.
The V series will never maximize that console , it’s only 60hz refresh rate and it has the low end gaming engine. The P series is the one with the high end gaming mode and 120hz refresh rate, so no, you can’t get the maximum from your console . $250 tv for a high end $500 console. 😂
The V series is not going to push the new consoles it’s a bottle neck, this video was for budget TV that the average person can afford until TVs like the p series become lower priced, and at its price it’s the best for the systems, besides there isn’t many games taking full advantage of these consoles power any how. But you’re right like I pointed out in the PC and Vizio video

I'm not sure if i understand your question, but i think it lowered the resolution to hit 120 Hz. which on these TV's is motion refreswh rate which isnt the same as true 120 Hz but trickery with frame freezing or black frames inbetween frames to trick the eye in seeing 120Hz. this is probably a really stupid question. so the way my setup works now is that i have my ps5 connected to a monitor. i plan on getting this tv and mounting it over the monitor to play games on. if i want to switch between playing on the monitor/tv often will i have to reconfigure the settings of the tv every time or will it automatically save my ps5 setting that i have for it
The TV has a USER profile so the TV will have the settings u save to a profile and I'm pretty sure u will be using a HDMI switch board to change between screens, the PS5 should auto between the 2 but I'm not 100, I pinned ur question and if I'm wrong someone on here might know the answer or a solution if there is one. but I would assume the PS5 would.
@@2020Tech4U That's what i thought, i didn't think you would have to change the profile settings every time. I feel like the TV should remember the PS5 settings.

I would assume so but we havent tested it out yet, once I get 1 i will but I dont see why not. the game logic is for PS xbox and PC because of the low latency and game HDR.
If anyone knows what maybe happening to Edwards TV please give a suggestion, I gave him 3 steps to try but If anyone knows send it to him. This is why I want a communtiy for you all to help me and help one another. THANKS EVERYONE WHO SUBBED!!
Other than the 120hz hdmi 2.1 feature what else is so hdmi 2.1 about it
great question, because TV manufacturers can use the term HDMI 2.1 kinda freely because sound like the e-arc HDMI connection is a form of HDMI 2.1 they can advertise it's HDMI 2.1 complient lol the only difference with this TV that I've found from others saying HDMI 2.1 is the low latency and Game HDR but it does not support higher bandwidth that would be necessary for 8k visuals. So this TV in short has the Game engine that runs low latency which is good for PC/ps5/xbox. also the kinda 120 htz refresh rate. I hope that answered your question. Also from my testing for the price for now its the best price for budget for now. plus the processor is a good processor for the price.
@@2020Tech4U Can you tell me the difference between full color 4:4:4 when hdmi 2.1 is off and hdmi 2.1 when 4:4:4 is off?
@@Ghostyboydead 4:4:4 on. better pixel info with higher data rates so using more bandwidth, which this TV has and does show very well, but it has no local dimming it has something else but not the same, it does have a VA panel so no burn in. which you didnt ask lol sorry, I had about 10 minutes of footage on this but decided to cut it because i cant explain it very well, to be honest, these TV's are good enough and thats it lol like i said in the video when the prices drop on the big boys thats when we go all in on those.
@@catr4_nz153 thank you for watching and if I cant answer a question I'll always dig up the info to try to help. thanks again

@@2020Tech4U I looked at the description i cant find any thing
Does the tv have hdmi 2.1?
No
I have the ps5 and xbox series x. Is there more than one 2.1 hdmi port?
no it has just the 1. ALso this is not 8k 2.1 HDMI it is full bandwidth for Dolby atmos, basiclly sound. I hate that they can legally say HDMI 2.1 but it is but isnt lol but no it has only the 1 with the 2.1 bandwidth
Yeah Vizio have been known to do this, it doesn’t even support HDR 10 for gaming. Just regular HDR, and it’s mostly for movies.
@@drummer7557 ya I noticed that too, like i always say if we dont pay almost a thousand dollars for a TV then we deal with a lot of gimmicky features until the prices drop on the expensive TV's
@@drummer7557 My Vizio v435-h1 model supports HDR10

@@2020Tech4U there's no need for an 8K TV currently... there's no support for it - gamewise, moviewise, etc.
I have the v series 4k but I don’t have the advance picture option on my tv. I don’t know why
there is 2 variants of the V series, one is from 2018 or 2019 then the 2020 is it the (V505-G9) ?
Great video....Does this tv support 120hz ???
Yes in a way, 120 htz on a TV is different then a monitor, Vizio calls it Effective Refresh Rate, the short answer is yes though, but the long answer is on TV's at these prices for now that is they fake it lol but this still doesnt mean motion wont look good cause it will, If your buying this for gaming first then go for it and movies second, even though the picture quality is very very nice in 4K HDR and all that Jazz lol
@@2020Tech4U I already have the tv lol... One more question ... I have a ps4 ... Whenever I'm on the Playstation.... I can't adjust my tv color , contrast,. Tint, sharpness settings... Hopefully I don't have this problem on ps5... Any help u can give me

What size is this tv?? Thanks a lot great video!
Thanks you much appreciated it’s a 55 inch btw
I have same Vizio 50 inch I want to get playstation 5 soon
Ps5 is great on it let me know when u get your ps5!
Sooo does that mean I’m gonna have to put the hdmi mode to 2.1?
Depends, if your watching a HDr 4k movie with vivid colrs and you want that full color aspect then yes, I just leave it on even if I'm watching 1080p it's easier, but you can set personal presets for movies games etc.. name them and just switch as needed.
@@2020Tech4U oh but in terms of gaming tho
@@maynotbejav0 As long as game HDR and low lag are on I would only use 2.1 for like a sound bar honestly, I hate how TV vendors can say HDMI 2.1 but it's weird that it isnt full 2.1. I just turn everything on accept auto contrast and such and leave it all on all the time lol
@@2020Tech4U ah oki thx
@@2020Tech4U another question what does the super resolution and edge enhancement do?
@@drummer7557 man this stinks... probably have to take mine back
How is your PS5 with Vizio V Series? Share Opinion
I am sorry I took so long to reply, it's nothing great to tell the truth, I advice for serious gaming get a good monitor and you will enjoy your console alot more
gracias
te nada
I think people are impressed that it’s Obnoxiously large... it’s ridiculous that they couldn’t of made it smaller.
100 percent, I really wish it was no larger than previous PS sizes, but from a thermal perspective and to keep dust build up down i see why, but eventually they will make them smaller as they move along.
Can it do 1080p 120 fps
No it can only do 60htz natively but with game mode enabled has good latency @ 10.6 ms. I would love it did but at the price it’s not going to be as good as say a $1100 television. Like I tell people this TV it’s like a hold you off until TVs drop in price that have all the gooey stuff we want, we use it everyday and have no complaints, I’m actually playing blood borne right now.
You can't unsmoke smeth.
Do you experience any no signal issue with the hdmi while in using the tv with my ps5 the no signal randomly pops up during a game and it’s becoming a real issue. Idk if I have the hdmi cord in the wrong input for the tv as I have it in hdmi 1
