I just saw your video two days ago, made the exact bug spray recipe. Today went to a family reunion, applied bug spray & had no problem with bugs for over 7 hours.
Thank you! I am going to make it ASAP. Take 8 ounces of Witch Hazel, add few drops of all 5 Essential oil (1)Paper mint oil (2)Lavender oil (3)lemon eucalyptus oil important (4)Lemon grass (5)Tea tree oil
Ah Hah!!! THAT's who you remind me of! Tabitha Brown. The combo of your smile and saying "right?" as you talk. Sooo great and easy to listen and watch you both. I will definitely try your bug spray in the spring. Okay, back to binge watching your channel. Have a blessed day.
I don’t have all those essential oils , so I’m going to try making a tea with Distilled water 💦, Bay leaves ,Rosemary ,lavender and Tea Tree oil , and Witch hazel , wish me Luck 🍀
I made some last year with listening, water, EO=lemon, lemon grass, tea tree, eucalyptus, citronella, peppermint. Will use your suggestion & add lavender to my mix this year. I was out yesterday & the mosquitoes had me on the menu, so I pulled out my mix & sprayed on me & around where I was sitting. No more problems.
It should be in an amber colored glass spray bottle. NEVER in plastic because EOs react with plastic. For anyone who's never tried this, be sure to spray a test spot to make sure you're not sensitive/allergic to any of these oils. Almost any one of these oils alone will repel mosquitoes. You can also use undiluted organic apple cider vinegar in a sprayer and get the same results. We use a 50/50 water/apple cider vinegar spray for our dogs. They also get homemade apple cider vinegar in their water, up to 1 tbs per gallon to repel ticks and fleas. Do lots of research and educate yourself on EOs because they are very potent concentrates. Do you know the difference between top notes, middle notes and base notes? If not, find out before you make a solution you know little to nothing about. Best wishes to you all and may we win the daily battle of the bugs!
@@pamt8430 No, I did not use HER recipe at all. I used a different recipe and I stored it in an amber glass bottle. You can call me a Karen if that makes you feel better. But I know what I'm talking about.
I was crusin' by and saw you. I always make my repellent using a carrier oil but I think this will be better .... using the witch hazel. Will be making this for sure !!!! Thank You ... Annie Lou
Thanks, I will try it too. I tried a few squirt of hand sanitizer mix with a dab of body lotion and applied to exposed skin esp arms and legs during afternoon gardening, it helps repel mosquitos too.
I really hope this works, I've been let down by so many diy things. I'm scared to even try them anymore. I love and have lots of essential oils. I don't like tea tree oil. I think it stinks. But thanks. I will try this. Will it get rid of Cock roaches ? I got them from a diy thing online. That's why I'm scared of these things. Please let me know. Thank you

Hello, I just saw your video for natural bug spray and I like it, Thank you. Do you give advice for first time gardeners? I know this video was 2yrs old. So I hope you can see my comment 🙂
@AGardenersJourneyHomestead Thank you, I am a first time gardener and I like raised beds. I just did two this year. And I'm not too sure if I did it right. Do you do raised beds?
Be careful with the tea tree oil; so good for us but not for your pets. It was the only thing I omitted, nice blend. I also added a little bit of almond oil; just to help it ‘cling’ to my skin.
Barbara, this is Shirley.😂😂😂 Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. These mosquitoes are diabolical!!! They must be a part of a mosquito militia.😩🦟 new Subbie🫶🏾
@@AGardenersJourneyHomestead Just prior to your vid. I have not tracked the hours but it has lasted me several hours working outside in the garden at least 4-5 hours. I have never gotten bit when I wore it.
