    I've been delaying a task for the past 2 months, but after watching your video, I set a timer on my phone for 1 hour and finally I completed it and still got time remaining to write this comment. Haha. Thank you so much, your videos are really making a change in my life. :D

      . . . On the other end of the scale . . . I've ended up with "Unavoidable Procrastination" = I solve/fix/sort one problem and then two others appear from nowhere = 64 problems and no (apparent) means of sorting them out.

    Just watched the two videos about deep work. And was about to look up Parkinson law, the odds when I got this in the notification. So simple and so strange that one haven't thought of this before...

    This is good with many New Years resolutions coming up people want to accomplish a goal by the next year. But what if we set the goal for 6 months?

    I procrastinate because I’m mostly undisciplined. However, I procrastinate assignments because if I finish early, I feel the need to rewrite or rework the project. I continue to evaluate my projects looking for a better solution. I have too many ideas and too many ways to complete assignments.

    If I want to get my work done faster, I must work on giving myself my own personal deadline. I must get into the habit of it.

    What happens when your deadline has way past?

  • @nupurhassan7094
    @nupurhassan7094 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Method 1: create artificial deadline 2:05. Method 2: 3:32 break down tasks method 3: 4:05 create a challenging deadline. Complete every task one day ahead of time.

    Ah yes, how to beat procrastination: don't procrastinate, do it earlier. Why didn't I think of that!

  • @Sueni
    @Sueni 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The problem is, all of these methods do not have repercussions if you don't meet the deadline. The whole point of a deadline is that the repercussions are very severe and create extreme discomfort or even pain. If you just make up something yourself, you know that it is "fake" - hence all the methods here are not addressing the key problem of procrastination

      I used to believe this, but friction in too many areas of ones life can cause anxiety and too much anxiety causes paralyzation and manic existentialism; making you question why you're doing what you're doing to the point of madness. There is a lack of balance if you're producing anxiety in 5 different areas of your life; and though you may think you're doing more, you're likely going to stagnate due to excess friction.

    This really only works if you work for yourself, otherwise if you finish the job quicker , your employer will just give you more work to do........true story

      Haha absolutely
      He doesn’t mention the most important part of this if you don’t work for yourself: don’t tell anyone you’ve finished, and devise a way to work on your personal stuff in the meantime.

      Just by listening to advice like this you might adopt it eventually because of 'auto-suggestion'. You need to practice it and make a habit out of it.
