Spider-Man is my favorite superhero of all time and it REALLY pisses me off how much these stories disrespect him so much. They essentially just spit on his legacy when they kill him off for nothing more than shock value. Not just in this story, but in others like Marvel Zombies, Wolverine kills Marvel, Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe. Every single one of these stories turn Spider-Man into the wimpiest, dumbest version of himself that he can possibly be just so they can kill him for shock value. Spider-Man would NEVER go out that way.
I get it for the story aspect but I really can't see the punisher taking out that many super heros. The plot armor this guy much have is amazing for this story to work.
That's why he doesn't really fight any of them. He lures them into traps ( Spider Man, the X-Men ), make them have accidents ( Avengers, maybe the Fantastic Four ), makes dirty moves ( Dr. Doom, Hulk ), etc. If anything, the only people he fought fair and square here were Kingpin, Wolverine and Captain America, and he got severely beaten by all 3.

You may think you hate superheroes. You may think that you've had enough of them. But you will never feel that way on the same level of Garth Ennis, the writer of this book. How did Punisher manage to defeat people like Thor? And the Silver Surfer? And Dr. Strange? Don't think about it. Just see how awesome Punisher is. Except Ennis even includes Daredevil as a voice of reason. Probably. Unless he made Matt act empathetically to highlight how much of a chump he is. That's not new for Ennis. Man wrote The Boys, you know.
Daredevil the voice of reason? Yeah well if Ennis got another issue or two we'd find out he's a diddler in the Catholic church or something. Always remember; there's no such thing as good people. Jesus Christ, I couldn't imagine being so damn cynical
He likes stories that kill a lot of heroes, and he likes death of the anti-hero endings. The ending of the boys comic is pretty much the same except that Butcher (basically the punisher) has someone else kill him before he detonates a bomb to blow up the city.
Forreal, its crazy. Even peters deah was total bs and completely unjustified and to make matters worse *ITS THE FIRST KILL*. Spidey sense wouldve let peter dodge it, and if he can easily cave in a car with one kick, a normal human is getting knocked out instantly. Plus he literally always saves innocents, even to his own fall. And the whole "billionares whos lives were ruined by heroes" thing? Are we… suposed to feel bad? Youre billionares, the damages theyve caused are realistically nothing. I dont know the continuity of the story, but the avengers should be paying for the damages thanks to stark no? "Oh, im a billionare who can get anything I want with money, now I look ugly and cant do that anymore, woe is me" Like Idrc if someone is obscenely rich, but dont expect pity points when your life can objectively be better than 99.99% of humanity. Ennis should just stay away from writing superheroes, the motivation, the scaling, none of it makes sense.

@@DarksteelHeart Don't you think villains and even armed forces have tried to insta-kill banner so Hill can't emerge? Won't work. Any damage to Banner triggers the transformation, and the Hulk's healing factor takes over.
a friend of mine told me once that Revenge is a fruitless mission with nothing but false comforts and endless missery, and that the only one who can stop that pain is the one that enacts it.
Here's the problem I have with The Punisher killing Captain America "Peak Human Reflexes: Rogers' reflexes border on superhuman level. His reaction speed is 20 kph, ten times faster than normal humans, which makes it possible for him to dodge gunfire, even at point blank range, from multiple shooters simultaneously as well as laser beams."
Yeah, there's an event I think has been in the MCU and comics: Banner is shot or shoots himself in the head, and Hulk spits out the bullet. And I wonder how the hell he killed Thor, Apocaylpse, and many other heavyweights.
My fav Punisher moment was from way back in Punisher #1. He is on a rooftop with some villain. The villain says "I have rights!" Frank responds with something along the lines of "Yea, you got rights. You have the right to be tossed of this roof. You have the right to bleed in the gutter. You have the right to be the example I am here."
I find it interesting how frank kills the most innocent morally difficult one first so it wouldn’t weigh on his conscious as much and he wouldn’t have to focus on it, and could bury it as just doing his job.
It did say it was after he transformed back to Bruce and could barely stay awake. Is it possible that in those moments hulk and banner are so disoriented and weak they're vulnerable through banners brain?
Wow that is actually very accurate. One difference is Butcher doesn't care about innocent non-targeted people if they're in his way while Punisher is much more calculated about how and where he fights to avoid other people from dying.
I like how they just turned The Punisher into Doom Guy. Both are marines with relentless anger who lost people, or a rabbit, that they cared about and who also kill overpowered beings that no normal human can do. If that doesn't scream "Doom Guy"; I don't know what does.
I could overlook the fact that he killed the mutants with a nuke even though Magneto could detect the metal warhead easily, but killing Wolverine by an electric fence?! It made sense with Deadpool did it cause he used carbonadium swords that nullify regenration and allow for a killing blow, but Frank literally just kicked him into an electric fence.
This story would had been more plausible if the billionaires had access to the Super Soldier Serum and gave it to Frank, or maybe if Frank inherited the Symbiote when he killed Eddie Brock.
yeah, seeing him overpower wolverine with only muscle was goofy, i had thought that he would reveal that he looted a strength enhancing serum from Doom's castle with how fast he turned wolverine's claw on him
I like to pretend that there's no such thing as cosmic beings in this universe. Idk, it always felt like the whole cosmic stuff only exists to give a reason for the hero and villain roster to forever and indefinetely expand. This is even a common trope utilized in The Boys's storylines. Bigger and stronger villains need to exist in order to validate the existence of bigger and stronger super heroes.
Once he sees the Herald of Galactus arriving on earth to announce the arrival of his master, Frank will be given the time to prepare. He’ll sit and wait with a sniper and on the day Galactus arrives, he’ll snipe him with 1 bullet and end him.
@@mrdude88 lol as if galactus will wait for him to do that, all of those heroes are caught off guard by punisher, he did not take any of them head on, this time, thanos or galactus will be expecting him, no tricks, he will either face them or he will die.
love the part where they have no way to get the Punisher to kill some heroes so they just leave it out and say "yeah he totally killed them" Punisher is physically incapable from killing Thor
Well depends in what version of Thor. In the original comics he was a doctor with a bum leg who could transform into the Mighty Thor by tapping his cane on the floor three times. And he would revert to human form if separated from his hammer for to long. The cane has been stolen and broken before too.
Or to kill Dr.Doom, or Hulk (Banner maybe), or so many others. And many of those on the moon would survice nukes easily. Oh and Logan wouldn't die from some shock, he has regenerated from mere skeleton after a nuke blast.
@@AllanSavolainen um it showed how he killed Banner and Doom. As for Wolverine regenerating from a Nuke that was a special case, he either had a special artifact or his powers were boosted by something. Also that was in a different universe as well, people's powers and strengths differ in each one. Also why would the folks on the Moon survive a surprise Nuke to the face? If they had time to prepare beforehand then yes but not with less than a second of warning.
@@DracoInduperator It "showed" be nerfing both DrDoom and Hulk. Though if it was a different universe where Doom is stupid then perhaps, but that is just lazy writing. And some of the mutants on the moon would be sturdy enough to survive a nuke. Though again if they are nerfed, then sure, but see previous point about lazy writing.
So Spider-Man doesn't leap away from the Punisher when he is able to dodge bullets all the other times. And Bruce Banner doesn't transform into the Hulk even though other times the "other guy" spits out the bullet when Bruce tries to end himself. This makes zero sense!
I kind of enjoy all these, *character* "kills the Marvel universe" stories. In a morbid sort of way. Probably because I was a huge fan of the "What-if" run. Plot armor or ludicrous set-up aside, It's fun to see these "otherworld" tales. Like seeing what our favorite heroes are capable of if they went completely unhinged, or didn't have to hold back.
Would be kinda cool if they picked up from this universe, though dark, they set it up for an age of new heroes/villains and mutants. They could do interesting plot points and stories with a backstory like that, where not just heroes but also villains would be afraid to make a new for themselves as for awhile they’d be unsure if the punisher is still out there
I know this was released over a year ago, but I keep coming back to this video; the mood, the voice acting-- all of that makes this video in particular so good and re-watchable, as are most of the Plot Armor Comics videos.
Damn this is tragic and heartbreaking. Someone who once had a code and somewhat a good man reduced to this due to extreme emotional trauma. And the real sad part is that this can happen to anyone. Something seriously bad making a person snap. But this was Punisher’s backstory from the jump. Castle became the punisher after his family was killed so how did he keep from going crazy here like in this one shot comic?
Originally, his family was killed by a joint gang hit ( 3 gangs aiming to kill Frank and his family ), so when he became the Punisher, he only punished truly bad guys and villains. Here, his family was reduced to " collateral damage " in a perpetual war between heroes and villains, and Cyclops's ( the one who apparently delivered the killing blow on Frank's family ) response was basically " was this your family? My bad, bro ". In this one shot universe, there's no such thing as good or bad guys to Frank, there's only super powered individuals who kill a lot of innocents while beating the crap out of each other a few times a month, all of them deserving punishment the same way.
@Manoel Eduardo Araujo Filho I didn’t know that. If that’s how it was originally why change it up from that to a mob hit that killed his entire family? Were they trying to give him a more relatable back story or something and or make him darker than he really was? And I see. That’s the way he took his response. But what about those who didn’t deserve to be punished like Murdock? He wasn’t even super powered unless you count his other senses being more heightened from losing his sight.
@@loyaldog5741 his backstory was never changed, it's always been that a mob hit killed his family. This is a solo comic that changed his backstory to give him reason to want to kill the superheroes, and is not canon

One thing I feel that 99% of comic book fans, punisher fans and critics always completely forget, don't know or understand about Frank Castle is the FACT that he became The💀Punisher because he's ready to die.
Always liked this "What if" story, mostly because Castle aka The Punisher is just a normal mortal with-out any super powers. Only his body and wits and some guns. But...I can't wonder on some details that makes it queastnble how he could have managed to kill some of the mighty heroes- & villains of the time. Such as; 1. Ghost Rider - He is practically immortal and works to avenge the innocents. No mortal tools can stop him. 2. Juggernaut - He is practically impossible to kill, but I guess an giant A-bomb would have fixed it on the moon with the rest. Possibly stuck there 3. Wolverine - Not impossible, but the way he was killed is questnble with the electrocution. 4. Thor - The Avengers teletransporter "accident" I can imagine scrambled him all over the universe, otherwise I wonder how Punisher possibly did it.
1. Ghost Rider is immortal, considering he's literally a being from Hell 2. Juggs was probably trapped on the moon after the nuke exploded, along with the rest of the seemingly immortal x-men 3. Adamantium hurts Wolverine, so stabbing him with his own claw would be potentially fatal, even surpassing his natural healing.
That ending is definitely a strong one we can't blame him for, but honestly, we be missing Deadpool, how the hell did he kill Deadpool, if Wolverine was nerfed hard enough im sure they could've thought of something lol
Deadpool either didnt exist in this universe or he was nerfed below the ground (tbf, everyone was nerfed to the ground. Peter, stark, banner, thor, magneto, I just dont see how those guys could loose to a normal guy with guns, and theyre not even the strongest save for thor) if I had to guess his nerf or bs plot convenience, the secret billionares actually have someone whos as smart as stark for some reason, and he makes a hyper cannon, and punisher lures deadpool to the cannon, then activates it and it sends a giant pulse wave that shoots deadpool into the sun. Does it make sense? No, but 90% of the deaths in this comic wouldnt.
Favorite Punisher moments: Punisher vs. Barracuda one of the most brutal fights Punisher ever had Jason Aaron's first Punisher Run, When Bullseye discovers why he really began this war on crime. How he figured it out was sick and demented
I absolutely love this one , whenever Punisher and Wolverine throw down it's legendary . Plot armour yes , Wolvy would likely end him for sure but it's still badass !! Cheers mate , great vid !👊🤘
One of the last good Marvel arcs I read was Punisher during the Dark Reign era. He started targeting super villains by using a mash up of scavenged super tech. It was everything you could want in a comic.
@@kushina382 Dark Reign was a good time period for most of Marvel comics, The Punisher arc is def worth reading, action with some twists, dark humor, and good character development.
Equivalent? Not even close. Batman at least has a genius level intellect beyond most characters in DC, a billionaire with INSANE TECH and super skilled in all martial arts.. Batman killing everyone in DC or Marvel is more believable.
It is copletly, and while some killing could have been written better its not the point i guess, the goal is the journey and its conclusion not how he travel but why and where. Its a spin off in the multivers so its fine. Many chars got some like that
The reason why frank castle offs himself at the end isnt because he regretted his decisions. Its really because he realized that he, too, was a superhuman, for he had the strongest power of them all, the power of plot armor.
Maybe I missed it in the beginning but when did this come out? I only remember the Punisher kills the Marvel Zombie universe series. Favorite Punisher storyline is probably the first from War Zone when the mob sends a group of hitmen after Frank and he befriends a female cop. Also where he hangs a goon from a hook and pretends to burn him with a popsicle. Loved it when they put that in the movie. Also the art in War Zone was incredible.

Yo brah. I love your narration. You made the comic come to life. No joke. You should look into reading books for audio. Im telling ya. You do a great job.
When writing an alternate reality, the idea is to keep everybody the same but change the events surrounding them. If The Punisher couldn't survive a day of the Imperfects invasion, what chances does he have of pulling this off?
Can we just talk about how sad Spider-Man's death was, he was trying to stop venom to having a gun pointed at his head and his last words being, why me...😢
The only problem with this theory is that the Hulk tried to kill themselves numerous times, and a single bullet wouldn't do anything, so this is poor writing.
Not gonna lie this comic made no sense especially for hulk because in Deadpool dies how can Bruce banner get blown up and turn to the hulk after, yet all it takes is a gun bullet and boom dead no hulk coming in just nothing….sometimes plot armor makes mo sense
Heavy plot armored for most of those kills...magneto not sensing metal in a nuke...Wolverine being overpowered and stabbed with his own blades...by a man?....captain America being shot by a gun...so many more...
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: All right, knock it off! Two hundred and fifty feet! He was two hundred and fifty feet away and shooting at a moving target. Oswald got off three rounds with an old Italian bolt action rifle in only six seconds and scored two hits, including a head shot! Do any of you people know where these individuals learned to shoot? Private Joker? Private Joker: Sir, in the Marines, sir! Gunnery Sergeant Hartman : In the Marines! Outstanding! Those individuals showed what one motivated marine and his rifle can do! And before you ladies leave my island, you will be able to do the same thing!
At least 3 of these don't make any sense. If Captain America is able to see and react to bullets having one shot at him point blank shouldn't make a difference. Also Wolverine is basically fucking immortal as he can literally fully regenerate from a couple of cells after getting launched into the sun. Finally doctor doom could basically move his hand and he'd be dead.
Wolverine going to the sun will obviously kill him because all of his cells will be gone and the only thing that maybe remains is his skeleton. Also did you forget the vacuum of space will kill him. I mean Wolverine can't fly back to earth so yeah definitely death to him. Also they have been many times where Wolverine's healing factor is not like Deadpool. So yeah I think Wolverine died before he got power up that they (Comicbook Creators) gave to him during the time when they published this comic book.
Also do you know that this place is not in the 616 universe so anything you know about the character from 616 to this universe does not count and plot armour is strong with the Punisher. So yeah screw the most of the knowledge that you learnt about the character from the 616 universe and enjoy the story because that is how I enjoy the Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe even though Deadpool should have been defeated from the many many heroes and their cosmic and powerful weapons but they didn't.
@@chikebosah5714 Launching him into space when have been a far more realistic way to kill him. Also Deadpool killing everyone is far more believable than Punisher. @@RiverFerret I am sorry for not finishing the video before I reply to your comment. @@espernova228 Never said he was either. Given the ending, Frank himself doesn't believe him to be one. But i'll be damned if i can't understand his motivations. No one gives a fuck about collateral damage until it happens to someone they care or love, specially if it doesn't seem like an " accident ". Like, who cares that your family died if the heroes saved the city, probably for the third time this month? And let's be honest, Cyclops going " Hey bro, was that your family? Oopsie poopsie, my bad 😊 " feels like this is not the first time he incinerates a bunch of innocents " by accident " and now he's just numb to it. What Frank actually heard there was among the line of " Yeah, people always die on these crossfires, but no one cares since i saved the city, so why should i? You'll mourn them, then you'll forget them and the world keeps spinning, get over it ". It's like Murdock says at the end " there's always people behind the masks " and there's also a lot of people behind every building the Hulk or Thor get thrown at. Will they feel that or will they just brush it off because it's in their line of duty/higher calling as a super hero?
Its hilarious how whenever someone dies thats just a civilian, its collateral damage, yet if someone a superhero loves dies, everyone laps up the vengeance arc.

Plot armor is the ultimate king 🤴of all marvel comics and anime
It would be the king of everything fictional.
There ARE characters with plot manipulation.
Plot twist: Frank wakes up next to his wife in bed. "Only in a dream could a normal man kill all super humans" Frank Thought to himself.
The craziest plot armor I’ve ever seen
Wolverine dying to an electrified fence.. Even a nuclear one. Who the hell wrote this!?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do not take this seriously.
Garth Ennis, the writer with the biggest Hero Hate Boner ever and writer of The Boys.
Wolverine survived Hiroshima... and his healing factor is now the only reason he's alive minute to minute because of his irritated bones.
Batman: my plot armor is unreal no one can match it
Punisher:hold my gun
Especially him killing dr banner, but hey there wouldn’t be good comics without it
Punisher: On second thought, gimme back my gun. I'm gonna need it
I like to imagine that The Punisher killed DeadPool with the writer's giant eraser.
I find it interesting how frank kills the most innocent morally difficult one first so it wouldn’t weigh on his conscious as much and he wouldn’t have to focus on it, and could bury it as just doing his job.
Mass-shooter psychology, innocents first.
Come on now, if Punisher shot Banner the Hulk would've spit the bullet out and killed him. Lol.

Or “Golden Sentry Serum
yeah, seeing him overpower wolverine with only muscle was goofy, i had thought that he would reveal that he looted a strength enhancing serum from Doom's castle with how fast he turned wolverine's claw on him
Punisher fan boys were happy with it as it was.
But now nothing's protecting the planet from Galactus or from Thanos
Ow yeah he straight up killed the human race. A selfish monster through and through
I like to pretend that there's no such thing as cosmic beings in this universe.
In this canon, Punisher probably just shoots them with a pistol and kills them. 😂
Once he sees the Herald of Galactus arriving on earth to announce the arrival of his master, Frank will be given the time to prepare. He’ll sit and wait with a sniper and on the day Galactus arrives, he’ll snipe him with 1 bullet and end him.

Punisher is physically incapable from killing Thor
Spidey would not also just stand there, he wasn’t THAT weakened and most likely could avoid that shot with his spidey sense
So Spider-Man doesn't leap away from the Punisher when he is able to dodge bullets all the other times. And Bruce Banner doesn't transform into the Hulk even though other times the "other guy" spits out the bullet when Bruce tries to end himself. This makes zero sense!

Would be kinda cool if they picked up from this universe, though dark, they set it up for an age of new heroes/villains and mutants.

It is fitting that the final person punisher kills is daredevil as only Murdock at the end could make him realize what he really just did.
It's also really tragic that Peter is one of the first to be "punished", considering he's one of the most wholesome and personally caring heroes usually.
Makes perfect sense, he's a hero too, only thing that doesn't is that he didn't know it's Matt. After bragging about doing recon earlier, and being such a calculated person, its unlikely that being he was planning to kill daredevil, he didn't discover his true identity

Always liked this "What if" story, mostly because Castle aka The Punisher is just a normal mortal with-out any super powers. Only his body and wits and some guns. But...I can't wonder on some details that makes it queastnble how he could have managed to kill some of the mighty heroes- & villains of the time. Such as;
1. Ghost Rider - He is practically immortal and works to avenge the innocents. No mortal tools can stop him.
2. Juggernaut - He is practically impossible to kill, but I guess an giant A-bomb would have fixed it on the moon with the rest. Possibly stuck there
3. Wolverine - Not impossible, but the way he was killed is questnble with the electrocution.
4. Thor - The Avengers teletransporter "accident" I can imagine scrambled him all over the universe, otherwise I wonder how Punisher possibly did it.
1. Ghost Rider is immortal, considering he's literally a being from Hell
2. Juggs was probably trapped on the moon after the nuke exploded, along with the rest of the seemingly immortal x-men
3. Adamantium hurts Wolverine, so stabbing him with his own claw would be potentially fatal, even surpassing his natural healing.

I kinda wish this ended with a loved one of the superheroes trying to get revenge on Frank.
I'd almost compare it to the punisher being a Honda civic and the likes of doctor doom, wolverine or captain America being a Lamborghini Aventador and racing where the civic wins.
@@RiverFerret I am sorry for not finishing the video before I reply to your comment. But yes, Deadpool is more believable than Punisher but I still don't believe Deadpool even with his healing factor can really kill even though I watch the video about it without plot armour. I mean he killed Ghost Rider which is hard without holy weapons that I believe Deadpool did not have.
But still these are comic books where lower powerful but popular characters with graphic violence have supreme plot armour to kill the Marvel Universe.
@@chikebosah5714can you send the link? on where deadpool killed ghost rider wanna hear it tho, thanks.
If you think collateral damage is unforgivable then normal humans would just die by the threat anyway.
That's why he kills both the threat and those who claim to " repel " the threat lol
@@manoeleduardoaraujofilho782 so what if the heroes didnt come and the aliens killed his family anyway? He would kill them because they didnt act? All in all Punisher is neither a hero nor a good guy.
Like he said you are just a bad day away from becoming the punisher
Moving thank you.. the quaver in your voice at the end helped make it.. next time leave a longer pause before the happy go lucky sign off to let us absorb the moment
